When is the best time to go to Cyprus with a child? Is it worth going to Cyprus with children? The main advantages of holidays in Cyprus

Going to the sea to the welcoming Cypriot shores, families with small children are often puzzled by the question: where is the best place to go to Cyprus with a child? It is important to choose a place of rest and residence so that small children, their parents, and mothers with infants feel comfortable and interesting. Fortunately, Cyprus is replete with resorts that are ideal for staying with children. But traveling with your child has its own characteristics that you need to know so that the vacation is safe and beneficial for the child’s health. These features, as well as very important tips, are indicated in the article about holidays in Cyprus in 2017; we recommend that you familiarize yourself with this material.

Holidays in Cyprus meet all European standards. Families with children, choosing the island as a holiday destination, can be sure of hospitable treatment and complete safety. Local residents are always welcoming and friendly, hotels, regardless of star category, are comfortable and well-equipped, the attitude of the staff and service are excellent. Thanks to the soft sandy beaches and gently sloping entrance to the water, children can play freely on the shore and swim in the sea completely safely.

Resorts in Cyprus are aimed at welcoming guests with children; for young guests, all hotels provide animation programs, a variety of attractions, playgrounds, entertainment clubs, children's pools and cribs. The food is simple, appetizing and high-calorie, will appeal to the most capricious kids; the restaurants offer national Greek dishes, a wide range of dairy products, fresh fruits and vegetables. The infrastructure in the resort towns is well developed; if necessary, you can easily purchase goods for children in stores.

The swimming season is very long, lasting from May to November. The best time to vacation on the island is June. At the beginning of summer there is practically no precipitation, refreshing breezes blow from the sea, the sun is not yet too hot, and is easily tolerated by both adults and children. The sea water temperature at the end of May and June is the most comfortable, not exceeding 27 degrees. The soft sun does not scorch the skin and gives a beautiful tan. In June, Cyprus is surrounded by lush greenery and flowers. Children will feel great at the beginning of the holiday season; even people suffering from heart and lung ailments can visit the island in June.

In July, it is a time of heat in Cyprus. The air temperature exceeds 40 degrees, sea water heats up to 30 degrees. Vacationers in July are better off spending most of their time in the water and sunbathing in the morning and evening hours. Warm water is suitable not only for bathing children, but also for scuba diving or water sports. You should be careful when vacationing on the island in July with children, and it is advisable for older people and people with chronic diseases not to travel at all in the middle of summer.

It's great to be with your child in Cyprus in October. In autumn, the island experiences mild, warm weather with minimal precipitation. The air temperature is about 25 degrees, the sea is gentle and calm. In September and October, the harvest of sweet and juicy fruits and vegetables ripens in Cyprus, which children will certainly enjoy. Also in October, Cyprus holds many special events on a grand scale. Together with your children, on October 1, you can watch a military parade in honor of the independence of the island, attend festive performances and concerts, and on the 28th, attend events organized for Greek Day. Plus, in October, tour operators reduce prices for trips to Cyprus.

Cyprus resorts are included in the list of the most suitable places for families with children to stay. The main advantages of the Greek island:

  1. The island is sunny almost all year round; heavy rains are very rare. Children spend most of their time outdoors, in the warm sea. It is important to remember to protect your baby's delicate skin from ultraviolet radiation from the sun. Sunscreen should be applied every hour, and even more often in June, when the sun is at its zenith.
  2. Both for adults and for children in Cyprus there is a lot of entertainment for every taste and budget. The leisure industry on the island is well developed, and entertainment events are organized at the highest level.
  3. The salts in the water of the Mediterranean Sea have healing properties, so Cypriot resorts are suitable not only for relaxation, but also for the recovery of sick children. The water near the shores warms up well, the bottom is shallow enough, suitable for children to learn to swim. It is only important to ensure that sea salts do not corrode the child’s skin; wash him in the shower more often.
  4. Cyprus offers holidaymakers a plentiful selection of fruits and vegetables. At the end of the holiday season, in September and October, local inexpensive products appear on the shelves: ripe strawberries, fragrant melon, juicy peaches.

Cyprus does not have any major shortcomings in organizing resort activities, and minor disadvantages are unlikely to spoil the mood of parents and children. Adults need to pay special attention to the health of their children who find themselves in an unusual environment:

  1. The body of young children, especially those under five years old, has a very difficult time acclimatizing. The baby finds himself in an unfamiliar environment with a different climate and food. Getting used to a new place can take up to a week, during which time the child exhibits symptoms similar to food poisoning or a cold. Parents observe allergic rashes, cough, runny nose, sneezing, dizziness, nausea, weakness in children, which disappear without a trace after 5-7 days. So that the child can have a good rest after acclimatization, it is advisable to go to Cyprus for a period of at least three weeks.
  2. You should not travel with children in winter. The child’s body, having become accustomed to the hot climate of the island and the abundance of sun, will certainly malfunction upon returning home. In this case, a cold cannot be avoided. The climate transition should be smooth, so it is better to plan a trip to Cyprus in the warm season: May, June, September or October.

Where is the best place to go to Cyprus with a child?

Where is the best holiday in Cyprus with children? There are many resorts on the island; each village is ready to offer children and parents conditions for a good and memorable time. You can book a trip with a tour operator, or choose an independent holiday - the island will always be pleasant and comfortable.

We are in Cyprus with a child

The answer is clear - yes, holidays in Cyprus with a child available. Arguments in favor of traveling to Cyprus with children:

Pclean beaches and clear sea . Most of the beaches in Cyprus are ideal for children: gently sloping beaches, clear water, well-developed infrastructure with sun loungers, umbrellas, toilets and lifeguards.

Magnificent beaches (but not all) and the cleanest sea in Cyprus

Friendly attitude towards children . Taverns and cafes usually have a highchair and sometimes a playground. In public places they can give something to a child (a balloon, a car).

Our 7-month-old baby fit perfectly in a highchair in the restaurant

N Availability of parks and playgrounds. Parks are located mainly in cities, and sites can also be found in resort villages. Hotels and taverns also often have play areas for children.

Small playground in Polis

Entertainment . In Cyprus, various themed entertainment parks have been created for children and adults: water parks, amusement parks, zoos, an aquarium, a camel park, a bird park, a donkey park, and enclosures with mufflons.

Convenient to move with a stroller . There are promenades for walking along the coastline. Many beaches provide wheelchair access to sun loungers.

Promenade in Limassol

Minimal crime. The streets are absolutely safe.

Cyprus with children: where is the best place to go on holiday?

Where is the best place to relax with a child in Cyprus:

Protaras. One of the best resorts for holidays in Cyprus with children. Gentle beaches with turquoise water, developed infrastructure, a calm resort village.

Central beach in Protaras

Ayia Napa . A party resort, an ambiguous place for a trip to Cyprus with a child. Depends on what area and near what beach the accommodation is chosen. Beaches where I would not go on holiday with a child: Latchi Adams (rocks and garbage), Nissi Beach (lots of drunken young people, but the beach is beautiful) and some beaches in the surrounding area (rocks). Take a closer look at the beaches: Makronissos (eastern), Landa, Vatia Gonia, Pernera A, Pantachou, Glyki Nero. The key is to choose a hotel away from the bar area.

My child and I are on Makronissos beach (one of the best in Ayia Napa or even in all of Cyprus)

Larnaca. A good option for a holiday with children in Cyprus. Pros: close to the airport (it doesn’t take long to get to the hotel), a big city (therefore, there are supermarkets where you can buy food and diapers). The beaches in the city are quite good; in Larnaca Bay along the Dhekelia highway there are small quantities of pebbles on the sandy beaches.

Finikoudes beach in the center of Larnaca

Limassol. Can be considered as a holiday with a child. Limassol is the largest city on the coast of Cyprus. There are many parks (including a water park and a zoo), children's playgrounds, entertainment, and stores with children's goods. Equidistant from both airports in Cyprus (≈65 km from each). Cons: the most expensive resort in Cyprus; some beaches are pebbly, and those that are sandy are a dismal grey. But children don’t care what color the sand is on the beach :)

Not the prettiest beaches in the center of Limassol, but children like them

Pathos. In general, Paphos resort is suitable for families with children. This is a residential city with developed infrastructure and large shops, close to the airport. But you need to be careful when choosing the beach closest to the hotel, since here they can be either sandy or rocky, not entirely suitable for swimming. Also, in some parts of the city, the beaches are concrete areas - this is certainly not the best place in Cyprus for children.

Sandy beach SODAP in Paphos

Coral Bay. The resort village is quite suitable for a holiday with a child. There are several large hotels and cottage complexes here. Excellent flat sandy beaches of Corallia and Coral Bay, developed resort infrastructure.

Policy. The resort may be boring for a holiday in Cyprus with children. The infrastructure is rather poorly developed. The only large supermarket is Papantonio with a small selection of baby food and diapers. The policy is located away from the coastline; you will have to walk or drive to the beach. The beach is equipped, sand and pebbles with a children's playground. Not far from Polis there are small villages on the seashore: Lachi (Lathi), Agraka, Pomos. As in Polis, the beaches are sand and pebble with a significant amount of pebbles.

How to choose accommodation for a holiday with children in Cyprus

Basic housing requirements when traveling to Cyprus with children:

  • Availability of a baby cot (if relevant by age).
  • Availability of a children's pool.
  • Good soundproofing in the rooms and no noise from the street.
  • Cleanliness in the room and throughout the hotel.
  • Children's animation.
  • Nanny services.
  • Availability of a playground and/or children's room.
  • Distance to the nearest organized beach.
  • The presence of positive reviews, especially from parents who vacationed with children.

If you are planning a trip tour, then it is more convenient to buy tickets through special sites. Without leaving home, you can analyze real prices directly from tour operators, read hotel reviews, and then book online. At the agency office there is usually not enough time to fully study the reviews, but at home no one is in a hurry. Plus the prices are transparent.

The largest tour sales sites online:

  • – a large number of offers, a convenient website and 24-hour customer support.
  • – prices for the same tours are cheaper than on other sites.
  • – another good site; before purchasing, you can check the prices here.

If you're flying on one's own, then to book accommodation you will need the following sites:

  • Booking– the main site for booking hotels in Cyprus.
  • Airbnb– a site for renting private housing: apartments and villas (if you register, use the link to receive a welcome coupon for a $$ discount).

Examples of our housing in Cyprus for 30-40€ for 1-2 rooms + living room and kitchen (in high season, these options may be more expensive)

Rules for transporting strollers and infant carriers on an airplane

Each airline has individual conditions for transporting children and children's accessories, so they are described below. average rules. More exact information need to check with the air carrier, with whom a flight to Cyprus is planned.

Conditions of transportation child on an airplane depends on his age:

  • Up to 2 years (infant)– a child can fly without a separate seat (on the parent’s lap). In this case, transportation of the baby is either free or a small fixed fee is paid. If for one adult there is more than one child under 2 years old, then for the second, third, etc. Children must purchase a separate ticket. In this case, the tariffs will be the same as for the category of children from 2 to 12 years old. Baggage: Airlines often allow infants to additionally carry a stroller or cradle, as well as a small bag with a change of clothes, diapers and food for the duration of the flight, free of charge.
  • 2-12 years– a separate seat is purchased for the child, but, depending on the airline’s pricing policy, discounts may be provided.
  • Children over 12 years old– the same fare applies as for adult passengers.

From the personal experience of the authors . When we flew to Cyprus with a child, we planned to use the car during the entire period of our stay on the island. The child was carried on the plane in a baby carrier, which the baby could take into the cabin for free. In the same car seat, the child traveled with us throughout Cyprus every day for 3 weeks. We didn’t take a base with wheels (stroller) with us, but for hiking we used a hipster backpack (it periodically flashes in the photo in this article).

Features of car rental in Cyprus for traveling with children

According to the rules in Cyprus, children in a moving car are:

  • up to 135 cm- must be in a special seat/booster according to weight category;
  • from 135 cm to 150 cm- can only be located in the back seats;
  • over 150 cm– can be placed on either rear, and on front seat.

Regardless of the seating arrangement, children should always be buckled up seat belts.

Rental prices infant carriers, car seats and boosters depends on the pricing policy of a particular rental company and the season. Average rental cost from 0 -5 € per day or 0-20€ for the entire rental period.

  • Myrentacar– the best, in our opinion, car rental site in Cyprus. Collects proposals from large and small local companies. The support service is excellent. It was through this site that we booked a car when we traveled with our child. A review was written.
  • – another good site, but it works more with large and international companies. Haven't used it ourselves.
  • Rentalcars– the principle of operation is the same as the previous one, but prices may be slightly higher. Booked on one of our long-ago trips to Cyprus. The experience was described.

It is highly advisable to choose a car with automatic transmission(in Cyprus, driving is on the left and right-hand drive cars, with a manual it will be difficult to change gears) and air conditioning(it’s very difficult without it in the heat, especially for a child).

From the personal experience of the authors. We rented a car in advance on the Myrentacar website with a pick-up and drop-off point at Larnaca airport. As we wrote above, we used our own infant carrier, which we carried on the plane for free.

What to see with children in Cyprus

In Cyprus you can see the following attractions that children may enjoy:

Ancient cities and sites . Students will benefit from visiting ancient ruins to gain an understanding of the ancient world. The most interesting locations: the ancient city with mosaics of Nea Paphos and the Royal Tombs in Paphos, the ancient city of Kourion near Limassol.

Cape Greco. An interesting walk around (Cavo Greco) with beautiful views, bays, grottoes. Located near Ayia Napa and Protaras. It will be interesting to ride ATVs here with older children. At Cape Greco there is open sun, it is advisable to choose a time to visit in the late afternoon or early in the morning. It’s possible with a stroller, but not very comfortable, since the path to the observation deck to the Peace Monument is rocky.

Avacas Canyon . A fascinating journey through the gorge near Paphos. You can walk through the canyon with children who already know how to crawl over stones. A wheelchair is not an option. With babies in a sling/kangaroo, you can easily cover some part of the route. But from the parking lot to the gorge itself you need to walk about a kilometer through an area open to the sun.

Akamas Nature Reserve . Located on a peninsula near Polis. It is quite a long drive from Ayia Napa, Protaras and Larnaca; it can be difficult for small children. Plus, you need to get to the sights of the peninsula by SUV along a bumpy road over steep cliffs (not every parent can mentally endure the fact that their child will ride along this bumpy ride over a cliff). Teens will likely enjoy it here. Especially if you travel around the peninsula on ATVs. But for younger children it is better to choose another place.

Troodos Mountains. Far from Ayia Napa, Protaras, a little closer, but not much, from Paphos and Larnaca and conveniently from Limassol. Children may like the observation decks and waterfalls: Milomeris, Kantara, Mesapotamos and Caledonia (to the last one you will have to walk a little more than a kilometer along the river bed, it is not possible with a stroller, the rest are not far from the parking lot). There are enclosures with mufflons, you can walk around and look at these artiodactyls in their natural habitat. It will be great to stop by the charming village of Kakopetria with an old water mill, and also check out the Cyprus Railway Museum, where you can climb into an ancient railcar and mail car.

Children with parents at Caledonia Falls

From the personal experience of the authors . We saw all the sights of Cyprus together with the child, regardless of his age. We tried to visit places with a long stay in the open sun in the evening. In our opinion, the success of such trips depends most of all on the willingness of the parents themselves to travel with their children.

Excursions around Cyprus with children

There are excursions group(on a bus with other tourists) and individual(for an individual family/company in the guide’s personal car). With children, the second option is more convenient, and for a large family it can also be economical, since the price is usually indicated for the entire excursion, and not per person.

Websites where you can book a tour in advance:

  • Group: Excursions TezTour, Sputnik8.
  • Individual: .

What to look for when ordering an excursion:

  • The guide's car is equipped child car seat by age (this issue must be agreed upon in advance so that the guide can prepare).
  • The guide has good reviews(check them out before booking a tour).
  • The guide is careful driver(this is sometimes noted in reviews).
  • Duration excursion program. Young children may find it tiring on a full-day excursion.
  • When choosing a topic for an excursion, you need to consider children's preferences.

Cyprus has everything to please not only adults, but also children of any age: sandy white beaches, a wide variety of entertainment, a high level of safety and a mild climate.

The main contingent of vacationers on the island are the British and Germans. Therefore, hotels, play areas and playgrounds, as well as beaches are equipped to all international standards. You will not find a single hotel above 3 stars that does not have conditions for relaxing with a child.

Advantages:

  1. Long beach season (from May to October).
  2. Dry, favorable climate for children's bodies.
  3. A short flight from the capital of Russia.
  4. Large selection of hotels with a high level of service.
  5. Friendly attitude towards small children (cannot be compared with Turkey or Egypt).
  6. Good European cuisine with a wide variety of dishes that will appeal to children.
  7. Availability of water parks in all resort regions.
  8. Sandy beaches and warm sea.

Why you shouldn't go on vacation in July and August

The best time to travel with children is from May to June or from September to October. At this time, the air temperature does not exceed +30 degrees, and the water warms up to +25 - +27 degrees. In May, it is better to come with infants, for whom swimming in the sea is not so important. The swimming season opens at the beginning of June, so if you are planning a trip in mid-June, then in Cyprus it will be much warmer than in Turkey.

In September-October, weather conditions reach their peak comfort. The summer heat subsides, the temperature of fresh milk subsides, and prices begin to fall. Therefore, if you have the opportunity to come here at the beginning of the school year, go for it!

It is worth refraining from tours to Cyprus from the beginning of July to the end of August. The island is located south of Turkey, so at this time it is even hotter here (more than +35 degrees), which can create certain difficulties with acclimatization even for adults. Does it make sense to pay through the nose for not the most comfortable conditions?

Best Family Resorts

There are not many resorts in Cyprus, but the best ones for a family holiday are:

  1. Pathos
  2. Limassol
  3. Protaras
  4. Larnaca.

What to visit with children in Cyprus?

A visit to the locals will cause a lot of delight (not only in Larnaca). The best throughout the country are those located in Ayia Napa and Limassol. These aquatic entertainment centers have huge children's corners with pools, slides and other activities.

Fasouri Watermania water park in Limassol

Do not pass by the aquariums that are in and. Here the whole family can explore the diversity of the inhabitants of the deep sea and have fun.

There are amusement parks at all resorts. For the most part, these are mobile attractions designed for absolutely any age, starting from 2 years.

In Protaras, in the very center of the city, a magical performance of dancing fountains begins in the evening. At the end of it, lava begins to erupt from the mountain located behind the fountains. The play of light, water and music will remain in the child’s memory for a long time.

Among the excursion programs, one can note the voyage walk to the Blue Lagoon. The very opportunity to dive from a yacht will already cause delight, and here you can also fish from the side of the ship.

What to look for when choosing a hotel

When choosing a hotel, first of all, be guided by its distance to the coast. It is best to choose hotels on the first coastline, since children do not particularly like long journeys.

Read the hotel information carefully. It is desirable that the hotel offers:

  • children's menu in the restaurant
  • chairs
  • provision of a crib upon request
  • availability of children's animation
  • playrooms and playgrounds
  • separate children's pool

Pay attention to the entertainment in the hotel: your children should be constantly busy and involved in something. This is the only way they will bring home good impressions and positive emotions.

Is Cyprus worth going?

Holidays with children in Cyprus! Why is it worth going to Cyprus, choosing a resort...

Let's go to Cyprus! Why choose this particular island for a holiday with children?

In 2016, when tours to Turkey are not on sale, many are thinking about where to spend their vacation relatively inexpensively, without spending a lot of time on a flight and without bothering with a visa. This is where the fabulous island of Cyprus comes to mind.

What are the advantages of Cyprus:

+ Due to the location of Cyprus, the beach season there lasts longer than in other Mediterranean countries. Climate The climate of the island has a beneficial effect on the health of children. Clean beaches, many of which have been awarded the Blue Flag.
+ A short flight (3.5-4.5 hours) and convenient location of Paphos and Larnaca airports - a transfer to any of the resorts will take no more than 1.5 hours.
+ The population is very friendly - Cypriots love Russians and are great with children.
+ Safety. Cyprus is one of the safest places. You will always have peace of mind for yourself and your child.
+ Cyprus has good cuisine. Dishes made from natural products, an abundance of fruits.
+ Cyprus is rich in historical attractions and entertainment for every taste. If you love ancient ruins, go to Paphos. Lots of entertainment for children - water parks, zoos, amusement park, oceanarium. You can go on a boat trip on a yacht or go to the Troodos Mountains. In Cyprus, it makes sense to rent a car and drive around the entire island. But it is worth considering that there is left-hand traffic here!!!
+ There is a simplified visa regime for citizens of the Russian Federation. A pro-visa can be issued in just 1 day by email and free of charge. There is no need to collect any documents. True, Cyprus plans to join Schengen by the end of summer, so take this opportunity and go to Cyprus in late spring - early summer.

When to go?
Rest will be more comfortable in late spring - early summer or in the first half of autumn. It is better to refrain from traveling to Cyprus with small children in sultry July - August, when the heat is above +35 degrees. The swimming season in Cyprus is officially from April-May to October-November. But it doesn’t change from year to year, and people are all different. Some people will be swimming full-time even in April, while others will be afraid to go into the water even in early June. The most comfortable time is September-early October, when the sea has warmed up over the summer and has not yet had time to cool down, and the air temperature is already dropping, there is no unbearable heat. In June the sea will be cooler than in September, and the air temperature will be comfortable.

Where to go? Choosing a resort

There are several main resorts in Cyprus: Ayia Napa, Protaras, Paphos, Limassol and Larnaca.

Ayia Napa
It is considered to be a youth, noisy resort. Yes, there really are a lot of young people there during the season; there are a huge number of bars, clubs, and restaurants in the center. BUT! Some distance from the center (about 3 km) there are good hotels with all conditions for children's recreation. Ayia Napa has the best beaches in Cyprus! For example, the famous Nissi Beach with white sand. Many beaches have been awarded the Blue Flag, are very clean, with a gentle entrance to the sea for children. Water sports are available on the beach. For entertainment, go to a water park or Luna Park.

Protaras- a truly calm, family resort. Located a few km from Ayia Napa, accessible by public transport. The beaches in Protaras are suitable for children, as are those in Ayia Napa. For entertainment, there is an aquarium; from the pier you can take a boat trip on a pirate ship, and in the evening look at the singing fountains.

Limassol- the most “Russian-speaking” resort in Cyprus. A lot of Russians live and vacation here. You can see signs in Russian. Limassol is also suitable for families with children, but the beaches here are less picturesque than in Ayia Napa and Protaras. With children you can visit the zoo, water park and amusement park.

Larnaca- this resort should be chosen by those who prefer a short transfer from the airport to the hotel, because he is located right here. From Larnaca it is also convenient to get to other resorts by public transport.

Pathos- will be of interest to those who love historical sights. The beaches here are not as good as in Protaras and Ayia Napa. There is an airport in the city, so you can quickly get to your hotel. For entertainment, you can go to the zoo (the largest in Cyprus) or a water park.

I will tell you about hotels in Cyprus in the next post, because... there are a lot of them. In Cyprus there are hotels for every taste, from budget apartments with kitchens to 5* all-inclusive with water slides and animation.
I will also pay special attention to entertainment and excursions in Cyprus. Read the following posts.

So, to sum it up... It’s WORTH IT going to Cyprus with children! I advise you to choose Ayia Napa (for those who like a more active, fun holiday) or Protaras (a relaxing holiday). I advise you to go in late May-June or September-early October.

Cyprus has deservedly established itself as a place for a wonderful holiday. There are clean beaches, good hotel service and a rich excursion program. But is it possible to go there with a child? Yes, in Cyprus, parents with children will be quite comfortable if they choose a resort wisely.

Advantages of holidays with children in Cyprus

The Republic of Cyprus receives significant profits from tourists arriving here. Therefore, the country does a lot for the comfort of vacationers. Many families with children have already appreciated the benefits of a holiday spent in Cyprus.

    • Ecology. Clean beaches are the hallmark of Cyprus. Order here is ensured by municipalities, and they do an excellent job. There is also virtually no food poisoning caused by intestinal infections. So you don’t have to worry about children’s delicate bodies.
    • Safety. In Cyprus, the authorities are successfully fighting crime. You can safely walk along the streets of resort towns with small children. Also, great attention is paid to security in hotels. Even three-star hotels are equipped with safe slides and children's pools.
    • Gentle entrance to the sea. Not all beaches have a convenient descent for children, but there are enough such places. The sandy beaches of Cyprus are ideal for families with children, because not all children like to walk on pebbles. In addition, you can build castles from sand or, depending on age, sculpt Easter cakes.
  • Long beach season. In Cyprus you can sunbathe and swim from May to October, which does not happen in all resort countries. But it is better not to travel here with small children in July and August. During this period, the air temperature is not lower than +35°C, and this cannot be called beneficial for the child. And a holiday in Cyprus with children in June, May and early autumn will be quite comfortable.
  • Excursions for children. Cyprus is traditionally considered an excellent place for an educational “adult” program. There are many archaeological sites, temples and museums. But there are also interesting entertainments for children. There are water parks and amusement parks. Children will also enjoy trips to zoos, especially “contact” zoos, where they can pet rabbits or ride a donkey.

It’s worth mentioning the disadvantages of staying on a sunny island with kids. All-inclusive holidays with children in Cyprus are not so easy to find. Not all hotels offer such a system, which is very convenient for parents. But there are options for family vacations. You can stay in apartments with a kitchen; there are plenty of similar offers in Cyprus. Or choose a hotel with a breakfast and dinner meal plan, and dine in nearby taverns or limit yourself to a snack made from local fruits. In this case, you should definitely find out in advance whether the hotel restaurant has a children's menu.

Where to go to Cyprus with a child?

There are resorts here where relaxing with children, even very young ones, will be convenient and interesting. There are less suitable places. But if you still want to relax there, you just need to know some information. And then a vacation with kids at an “adult” resort will leave a pleasant impression.

Protaras

It’s not for nothing that this town is first on the list. Most parents consider it the best resort in Cyprus for families with children. There is an excellent seashore with fine white sand, and a gentle slope into the water will allow children to swim comfortably. The beaches are located in bays, most of them surrounded by rocks; it is windless and quiet here.

The journey from the airport to the hotel takes about 40 minutes. Of course, there are shorter distances, but this is not so much, and the child will calmly endure such a trip. The infrastructure of Protaras is aimed at family tourists. Hotels offer children's menus in restaurants, playgrounds and clubs. There are many supermarkets in the city where you can easily buy diapers and baby food.

The most interesting place for children to visit in Protaras will be the aquarium. In it you can see not only aquariums with marine animals and fish, but also enclosures with other representatives of the fauna, for example, monkeys or birds. The city also has children's entertainment complexes. Overall, Protaras is a quiet and relaxing resort that offers a relaxing holiday, perfect for travelers with children.

Larnaca

This is the second most popular resort in Cyprus for families with children, where family tourists also like to go. There are many sandy beaches, although there are also pebble beaches and those where the sand is mixed with shell rock. Another feature of Larnaca beaches is that the sand here is not white, but gray. However, this does not prevent you from relaxing with children, because the beaches are clean and comfortable. Most often they have a safe, gentle descent into the water and a shallow bottom near the shore.

From the airport to the city it is only 7 km, so the road will not be tiring. The advantage of the resort is its developed infrastructure. There are many hotels here offering a range of services for children. Young tourists will find mini-clubs, playgrounds, and children's animation. Kids will love Larnaca Zoo. This resort is a fairly calm and comfortable place for a family holiday.

Limassol

Limassol is a large and bustling port city. If you are looking for a better place in Cyprus to go with children, you should consider another resort. Limassol does not have its own airport, and it will take at least an hour to get to the nearest one. The tourism infrastructure is aimed, rather, at adult travelers. Few hotels offer services for children.

But if you still really want to relax here with your child, and you are not afraid of the lack of some comfort, you can find something to do. Limassol has water parks, children's entertainment centers, and a zoo. The most popular complex for children is “Galaktika”. There are changing and feeding rooms for mothers with babies, and older children will have a great time on the attractions. The Donkey Park is a must-visit. This is a kind of animal farm where children can not only look at donkeys, but also ride them.

Pathos

This resort has advantages for families with kids. Our own airport reduces travel time to and from the hotel. There are several beaches suitable for children, the most famous of which is Coral Bay. Although the sand on these beaches is artificially poured, they are very clean. But still, Paphos is not particularly loved by tourists with children. There are many pebble beaches here, and not all have convenient access to the sea. Little vacationers will not be very comfortable. In addition, Paphos is one of the most expensive resorts.

Those who are not afraid of Paphos’s inability to holiday with children can be advised to focus on entertainment. A visit to the Aphrodite water park will bring a lot of pleasure. It's also worth taking a stroll through the local zoo. Giraffes are allowed to be fed here, and peacocks walk around the park freely, not limited by enclosures. School-age children may be interested in excursions. After all, Paphos has many attractions located directly in the city.

Ayia Napa

This place is considered a youth resort: there are many bars and nightclubs. It will be too noisy for children's rest. And if you plan to spend your entire vacation with your child, it is better to choose another resort. But if you want to combine a family holiday with your own entertainment, you can stay in Ayia Napa.

Despite the abundance of establishments for adults, this resort does not forget about little tourists. Traditional entertainment for children in Cyprus, water parks, are also available in Ayia Napa. But here you can also visit the dolphinarium. There are plenty of hotels with services for children at the resort. The beaches of Ayia Napa are good for kids. Many of them are covered with sand and have a gentle entrance to the sea. So this resort also has its advantages. You just need to choose a hotel away from noisy discos and bars, and you will enjoy your vacation even if you come with the smallest children.

So, you can’t go wrong when traveling with your child to the calm and comfortable Protaras. But if you really want to go to respectable Paphos or bustling Limassol, be sure to plan a trip! Proper organization of leisure time - and you will receive only positive emotions from your vacation!
