The best clubs in Warsaw. Active leisure ideas for Warsaw

Although the slogan of the Warsaw Tourist Information Office is “Fall in love with Warsaw!”, it may not be so easy to fall in love with the Polish capital at first sight. Knowing that more than 90 percent of the city was destroyed during World War II, we must appreciate the dedication of the local residents and the city administration, who made every effort to rebuild their beloved city as quickly as possible. Today you can see the pretty (and fairly new) Old Town, skyscrapers and gray apartment buildings. But behind the gray blocks you'll find impressive courtyards, picturesque parks, cute little cafes and ambitious galleries. There really is a lot of beauty here, you just have to look for it!

And the nightlife in Warsaw is quite good!

Marriott Panorama Bar(Jerozolimskie 65/79)

If you want to enjoy an unusual view of the city, this bar is worth visiting. Most visitors to Warsaw consider this place to be the city's main architectural landmark. The bar is located on the 40th floor and is one of the highest public observation decks in the city. From here you can enjoy breathtaking views of the center of Warsaw. The bar is open from Monday to Sunday from 18:00 to 02:00.

Plan B(Aleja Wyzwolenia 18)

This is a great place for a great night in the heart of Warsaw. This is an alternative pub with a cozy atmosphere where students often hang out. It is located on Plac Zbawiciela square. The bar's slogan is "Beer & Vodka!" But the place offers much more than just drinks, they have frequent concerts and discos. Plan B is buzzing even on Monday evenings, and in the summer you can enjoy outdoor parties overlooking the beautiful square. There is also free Wi-Fi. The place, I must say, is very small, so come early to the concerts.

Syreni Spiew(Szara 10a)

This is Warsaw's first (and so far only) whiskey bar. As the name suggests, the bar is named after mermaid songs - in fact, the place can be recognized by the shining mermaid at the entrance. The place is in a pavilion in the middle of the park. The interior of the bar is in the style of the 70s. There are beautiful old mosaics, woodwork, mirrors - overall a very elegant look. The selection of drinks is impressive - the best varieties of Scotch whiskey and other drinks. Inside you will find three bars, a small stage where live concerts take place and two terraces where you can cool off and enjoy the night sky. On Friday and Saturday the club is open until 5 am, on other days until midnight.

Enklava(Mazowiecka 12)

Mazowiecka Street is home to a number of the best nightclubs in the city and this club is among the top. The club keeps its finger on the pulse of current trends, so here you can catch live music and fashion events. You can find a pretty stylish and cheeky crowd at the club. On Wednesdays you can go to Old School Night (music of the 70s and 80s). There is strict dress control at the entrance. The club is open from 10 pm to 4 am, except Sunday and Monday. We can say that this is the best club in the city.

1500m2 do wynajęcia(Solec 18/20)

The huge club with an area of just 1500 square meters is impressive. This club is located in an abandoned industrial area. Thus, it is a bar, a club, a concert hall or a gallery - sometimes all four establishments at the same time. Themed parties are often held here, such as Valentine's Day or Prodigy Afterparty. This club hosted some of the best and loudest parties in the city. A newly added restaurant called Bistro sto900 offers refueling during and after parties. The bar is open on Friday and Saturday from 22:00 to 6 am.

Bank Club(Mazowiecka 14)

This club is located on the previously mentioned party streets of the city. Good music, elegant kitsch decor, good drinks - this is what attracts guests to this club. There is a separate smoking area and drinks are reasonably priced. That's why the crowd here is simple and friendly. The club is open on Friday and Saturday from 22:00 to 4 am.

Bollywood Lounge(Nowy Świat 58)

This restaurant, club and shisha bar is an excellent place for entertainment with a strong reputation. In the club you can see a mixed crowd, and the same variety of music - from songs of Polish bands to Indian melodies (and the staff here are mainly Indians). Poland is often perceived as not a particularly cosmopolitan country, and even quite conservative. “Bollywood”, on the contrary, is a very diverse and welcoming place! The club is open from Friday to Sunday from 12:00 to 2 or 4 am.

Club Capitol(Marszałkowska 115)

Another glamorous luxury club full of European jet setters. There are VIP rooms. The club is open on Friday and Saturday from 22:00 to 6 am.

Club Mirage(Pl. Defilad 1, entrance from Emilii Plater)

A completely unique experience can be experienced in this club. Maybe because the club is located in the building of the Palace of Culture. The main entrance faces the central railway station. There is a luxurious bar and lounge for relaxation, and the crowd in the club is completely unpretentious and diverse. The bar is open from 9 pm to 5 am, and on Wednesday and Thursday until 2 am.

Dekada(Grojecka 19/25)

This is a piece of Warsaw folklore. The music menu changes every day, and on weekends it mainly features disco and fresh European and American hits. Quite interesting themed parties! The club is open until 3 or 5 am, closed on Mon, Tue, Wed, Sun. The club may be open sometimes on Wednesdays if there are concerts at the club.

Dobranocka(Smolna 40)

This is a fun, smoky basement bar and club favored by hipsters. Stylish music and parties. The beer here is only local, and the interior is very funny and interesting, even the toilets are unusual! The bar is open from 17:00 to midnight, and on Friday and Saturday from 17:00 to 03:00.

The Eve Music Club(Pl. Piłsudskiego 9)

At the entrance of this club there is a fairly strict dress code, so only the most beautiful and stylish hang out in the club, including local celebrities. The club's music policy is impressive, that is, the music is high quality. The bar is open Thu, Fri, Sat from 21:00 to 06:00.

These are the clubs you can visit in Warsaw. And that’s not all! Also visit: Fabryka Trzciny, Foksal XVIII, Hunters Club, Klub Karmel, Lemon Club, etc.

In Warsaw you can find entertainment for every taste. Even the most picky people will be completely satisfied. The repertoire of the theaters is beyond praise; the newest films are shown in cinemas. In spring and summer, many cultural events take place outdoors. Street cafe tables appear in parks and on the streets. Warsaw's nightclubs are also very popular.

Practical information
Every day something interesting happens in Warsaw. The main problem is to choose entertainment to your liking. An excellent source of information is the Friday edition of the newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza and its supplement Co jest grane. Here you will find a program of cinemas and theaters, as well as reviews of performances and plays. The newspaper also contains information about the nightclub program. The weekly Wprost and its biweekly supplement, Wprost i Kultura, will also be useful.

Many bars, restaurants and clubs distribute free leaflets and booklets with the program for the near future. Pay attention to publications such as City Magazine and Aktivist, which publish not only the program, but also reviews. In large hotels you will always find information in English. Take the booklet Warsaw: What, Where, When.

Naturally, the Internet is an irreplaceable source of information. Check out the websites www.gazeta.pl, www.onet.pl, www.um.warzszawa.pl. Most theatres, cinemas and clubs have their own websites, the addresses of which can be found in advertising brochures and leaflets.

Purchasing tickets
Tickets can be purchased either directly at theater box offices or at specialized theater box offices - ZASP (Aleje Jerozolimskie, 25, tel.: +48-22-621-94-54). Tickets are also sold in EMPIC stores (Nowy Swiat, 15/17, tel.: +48-22-625-12-19; Marszatkowska, 106/122, tel.: +48-22-551-44-37).

Opera and theater
The renovated stages of the National Philharmonic, National Opera and Bolshoi Theater meet the highest standards. Local performers perform here, as well as tours of foreign artists. You can listen to classical music at the Shuster Palace or at the Academy of Music in the Okolnik district. Here students play Chopin's music. Classical music concerts also take place at the Wilanów Palace, the Royal Castle and the relatively modern Ujazdowski Palace. In addition, concerts are regularly held at the Evangelical Reformed Church (Aleje Solidamosci). Excellent acoustics at the Warsaw Chamber Opera, where Mozart festivals are held. Concerts for Easter and Christmas are held in some Catholic churches.

The Roma Musical Theater performs operettas, and musicals are performed at the Syrena (The Threepenny Opera), Rampa (The Sorcerer of Lublin), and Zydowski (Fiddler on the Roof) theaters. Even in such serious theaters as the Drama or Ateneum, stars of folk music, jazz and rock music often perform. Concerts are also held in the Congress Hall.

Youth and experimental theater groups often perform in cultural centers or in the Old Arsenal (Stara Prochownia, ulica Bolesc, 2). Art exhibitions and jazz concerts are held in the former factory, now converted into the cultural complex Fabryka Trzciny (Okopowa 14). The Nowy Praga theater also operates here. For jazz lovers, the main event of the year is the Wujek Jazz Festival, where you can hear real improvisation.
Warsaw also has its own music hall – Małgorzata Potocka Sabat, which is in many ways reminiscent of the pre-war cabarets Morskie Oko and Qui pro quo. Here you can not only have fun, but also have a good dinner.

Another interesting place is the Kordegarda Gallery in Krakowskie Przedmieście. Art exhibitions are held here, and concerts are held in the evenings. Music penetrated even the most reputable exhibition hall - the Zachėta Gallery. The International Festival of Contemporary Improvised Music is held here. The gallery is tired of its classic, traditional role, so it now hosts exhibitions of innovative photographers and hosts the Art Photography Festival.

And finally, you can even listen to music at the Center for Contemporary Art in Ujazdowski Palace. This hall is famous for its experimental installations and happenings. True avant-garde lovers come here.

Cinemas
In 1989, after the political situation in Poland changed, a new type of cinema began to appear in Warsaw - the so-called multiplexes. These are large premises with many halls where several films are shown at once. There are such cinemas in almost every shopping center. Thousands of Warsaw residents happily combine shopping with watching a new film.

More demanding viewers prefer elite cinemas, where auteur and experimental films are shown in small halls. One such cinema is Muranow, which operates under the Leninist slogan “Of all the arts, cinema is the most important for us.” We can also recommend the Zbyszek and Gerard cinemas. After renovation, these are the coziest and most comfortable cinemas in Warsaw. Muranow has a small bookstore and a film café, where after watching a film you can discuss it. On Marshalkovskaya near Savior Square there is a Luna cinema. Its two halls have recently been renovated. Romantics and lovers who really like double sofas come here.

The National Film Library has its own fluzjion cinema, which has been operating for 50 years, although during this time it has changed its location several times. Eventually, “Illusion” was located in the building of the old cinema “Capital” (Nartutta, 50a) in the Mokotów district. Lovers of the old, communist repertoire come here. “Illusion” is famous for its movie marathons, during which they show a wide variety of films - old Hollywood melodramas, European, Polish and Latin American films. Silent films are accompanied by music played on a piano or organ. In addition, “Illusion” shows films stored in the National Film Library.

Clubs
There are many clubs in Warsaw where you can listen to good music in a cozy atmosphere. One of the most interesting is Tygmont (Mazowiecka, 6–8). Real stars of Polish jazz perform here - Zbigniew Namyslovski and Jaroslaw Smetana. However, you can just dance in the club. The publishers of the most respected Polish jazz magazine, Jazz Forum, hold their festivals here.

Another club that enjoys an excellent reputation in the artistic community is Jadtodajnia Filozoficzna (Dobra ulica, 33). Not only concerts are held here, but also dance evenings. The club performs modern jazz, reggae, ethno and punk rock. Interesting club Metro Jazz Club (Marszałkowska, 99a). The famous quartet of Jan Ptaszyn Wrublewski performs on its stage.

We recommend checking out the Hybrydy club (Ztota, 7–9), located in the very center of the city. It has been around for 50 years. The club opened in 1957. Since then, the most famous jazz musicians from Poland and other countries have performed here. The multi-storey building now houses an excellent restaurant, Cafe Vogue, several bars and a club where soul, funk and Latin music reigns.

The Piekarnia club (Młocnska, 11) is not distinguished by strict rules. Domestic and foreign DJs and groups perform here. In this club you can hear music from all over the world.

Club Organza (Sienkiewicza, 4) is chosen by those who want to escape from everyday life. The hall has a cozy, unique atmosphere. An additional room opens on weekends.

The superbly located club Le Madame (Kozla, 12, very close to Freta Street) is a center of independent, avant-garde music. Here you can see one-man shows for one actor, performances by youth theaters from other cities in Poland.

Techno music is performed at the CDQ club (Burakowska 22).

Discos
One of the most popular discos in Warsaw is Quo Vadis, located in the Palace of Culture and Science. They perform commercial music here and are always crowded, despite the high prices. It will be nice to dance on your day off at the Tango&Cash club (Aleje Jerozolimskie). The disco has a large dance floor and cozy bars on each level.

Classic disco music is performed at the Park disco (Aleja Nie-podlegtosci, 196). Styles vary depending on the day of the week: on Mondays - dance music, on Tuesdays - metal. The club is inexpensive and quite safe.
One of the first clubs to appear in Warsaw was Ground Zero (Wspólna, 62). It was founded by two Americans, using for this purpose the premises of a nuclear shelter connected to the Palace of Culture and Science by an underground passage. This disco plays a variety of music and hosts various concerts. Both Polish and foreign artists perform at the club.
The Lokomotywa disco is located in a former foundry (Kolejowa 37–39). This is a great place for techno music lovers. Particularly pleasing are the moderate prices for drinks.

Don't miss the disco Stodota (Batorego, 10a). Students have gathered here for several generations, and the tradition has not died to this day.

The repertoire consists mainly of rock and pop music, although you can also hear something else.

Dance halls and casinos
Dancing to live music, with light snacks and alcohol is a long-standing tradition in Warsaw, which has now, unfortunately, almost disappeared. Dances in the old sense of the word are sometimes held on Marszałkowskoq in the Budapest restaurant. They are trying to revive this tradition in the Gromada restaurant. On weekends, people in their 50s and 60s often dance here.
Players will feel quite comfortable in Warsaw. Casinos operate in the Marriott and Polonia hotels on the Jerusalem Alleys, as well as in the Gromada Hotel on Warsaw's Insurgent Square.

Gaming establishments are also located in the Orbis hotels: Grand (Krucza), Sofitel Victoria Warsaw (Królewska).
From spring to autumn, you can try your luck at horse racing, which takes place at the Słuzewiec Hippodrome, an excellent place for lovers of such entertainment.

Outdoor activities
In the summer, many different events are held in the squares and parks of Warsaw. Students from local universities take part in the Juvenalia festival, which takes place on the Agricpola or Mokotów fields.

But the most interesting events take place in January - the concerts of the Big Orchestra of Christmas Charity. Proceeds from the concerts go to charity. Thousands of people gather at Parade Square and in front of the Polish Radio and Television building on Woronicza Street in the Mokotów district.

Less emotional, but no less interesting events are historical shows. On Nowy Świat Street you can see people in historical costumes reenacting the events of the November night in 1830, when a group of military school cadets broke into the Belvedere Palace and proclaimed the beginning of the November Uprising. Another interesting performance associated with this uprising is the heroic battle of Olshinka Grochowska. The battle, in which the Polish light cavalry fought the Russian army, is staged in Skaryszewski Park. Participants are passionate about the historical accuracy of their costumes and weapons. They are advised by employees of the Polish Army Museum. People who came from different parts of Poland, from Russia and Lithuania take part in the historical battle.

Unfortunately, festivals dedicated to colorful Slavic customs are not popular now. They are of interest only to schoolchildren and tourists, although Slavic traditions still remain at the center of trade fairs, where you can buy dry herbs, talismans and honey.

Autumn is a time for ecological picnics. On Earth Day, environmental club activists hold various events dedicated to environmental protection.

Jazz festivals

During the harshest communist times, Warsaw was famous for the most original festival in Eastern Europe, in which real stars took part. Nowadays fazz jamboree is considered the most prestigious international jazz festival. The idea of such a festival originated in the Hybrydy club in 1958. At first it united only a few jazz music lovers. In September of the same year, a rather modest festival took place in the student club Stodofa. The name of the festival was invented by the leader of the Polish beatniks, writer Leopold Tyrmand. Soon the festival concerts began to be held at the National Philharmonic, and since 1965 - at the Congress Hall of the Palace of Culture and Science. The festival was attended by real stars - Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, Dizzy Gillespie, Dave Brubeck, Benny Goldman and the Manhattan Transfer ensemble, as well as famous Polish jazz players - Nagorny, Urbaniak, Stańko and Muniak. Festivals turned into real schools for the exchange of experience. Young musicians tried to get closer to the standards of real masters. Polish composer Krzysztof Komeda also honed his art at this festival. It was here that he composed his famous lullaby for Rosemary's Baby.

Warsaw confirms its reputation as the Slavic capital of jazz with numerous festivals and concerts. In the early 90s, the Warsaw Summer jazz Days festival was organized. If jazz jamboree is a festival of traditional jazz, then during Jazz Days you can hear the most modern music. The festival takes place in the Congress Hall at the end of June. The day before the final concert, a grand outdoor concert is held.

An open-air jazz festival is held on the Market Square of the Old Town - International Outdoor jazz Festival. Over the course of |two months, thousands of people gather for free outdoor concerts. Polish and foreign artists take part in the festival. The main task of the musicians is to promote jazz in all its forms, be it swing, fusion, Latin, ethno or modern. Throughout the year, 40 thousand people attend jazz concerts in Warsaw, making the festival the largest music event in Poland. In Europe, only the Paris Jazz Festival can compete with it. In the summer of 2004, the Tenth Warsaw International Jazz Festival took place.
For several years, Warsaw has hosted the Era jazz festival. This festival originated in Poznań. His main idea is mobility. That's why concerts move from place to place. In Warsaw, festival concerts take place in the Congress Hall and the National Philharmonic.

On the Vistula, even Chopin's music is performed in jazz rhythms. At the Chopinian festival, which takes place in the Mokotówskie Fields, jazz musicians amaze listeners with brilliant improvisations.

Jazz clubs host jam sessions and concerts. Musicians improvise freely in a cozy atmosphere. But these clubs know their ups and downs. Several years ago, the building that housed the Aquarium club was demolished, and a new skyscraper appeared in its place. The Remont club on Warynski Street was luckier. Although the building has been rebuilt several times, students of the Technical University still gather here. Newly established clubs maintain old traditions. This applies to the Tygmont club, where festivals and concerts are held, organized by the publishers of the reputable jazz Forum magazine.

You can diversify your walks to historical places and museums by visiting a variety of entertainment centers and shops. In the very center of the city is the Warsaw Zoo, which is a great place for a family holiday. The enclosures are home to many rare animals that were brought to the zoo from exotic countries. Interesting excursions and events are held for young visitors, during which children can learn a lot of interesting things about the features of the mysterious world of animals.

Fans of water activities will prefer the Wodny Park water park, located in a suburban area of Warsaw. On its territory there are not only fun attractions, swimming pools and slides, but also a Russian bathhouse, several wellness rooms and a fitness center. The main pride of the center remains the swimming pool, the parameters of which fully comply with Olympic standards. Fans of elite sports should visit the Golf Parks Poland golf club. In addition to high-quality sports grounds, there is an excellent store on its territory, offering visitors the opportunity to purchase sports equipment, as well as a cozy bar, which is perfect for relaxing after training. Champ Tennis is considered the most popular tennis club in Warsaw. It is located in a beautiful garden and also offers its guests a lot of prospects for relaxation.

After dark, numerous nightclubs and bars await guests; the Tygmont jazz club remains a popular place for music lovers and dance lovers. Several times a week it hosts performances by popular jazz bands and interesting themed parties. Guests can enjoy not only their favorite music, but also excellent treats and signature cocktails at the bar. Copyright www.site

Shopping lovers will also not be bored; Warsaw has large shopping malls, luxury boutiques, and colorful markets. The largest shopping center in the city is Arkadia, with more than two hundred shops, as well as about 30 coffee shops and restaurants open on its territory. In the center of Blue City, in addition to a variety of shops, souvenir shops and restaurants, there is an excellent entertainment center for children, Magic City. For souvenirs, it is best to go to the Cepelia store, which displays the work of local artisans. Interesting home decorations, amulets and handmade items of national clothing will become the best memorable gifts.

Among other active recreational activities, kayaking on the Vistula River is popular. Tours of this kind are offered by Kajak W Stolicy and naKajak. Having tried kayaking, you can greatly diversify your leisure time and get a lot of pleasant impressions. Just like taking a ride on a luxury yacht on a beautiful river, which in some way has become synonymous with beauty. And if there is beauty, then it is definitely worth looking at - and, of course, I would like to do this forever. But it is worth at least doing this a little, for this it is worth using the services of Po Wisle, Miami wars, Warsaw Boat Party or Loewentin - companies that have the best ships for cruises.

You can visit Plaża nad Wisłą, which offers beautiful views of the Old Town, bathed in the Warsaw sun - and the spectacle, it should be noted, is unusually amazing. This is a great place both for sunbathing and for having a picnic. Another picturesque place is Gorka Szczesliwicka. Here the views are stunning from the very first minutes - we can say that this is it, that same love at first sight. It is especially good to take a walk here with your significant other, and in winter it becomes a favorite place for skiing enthusiasts.
