The best beaches in Vietnam - where is the best place to relax? Where are the good beaches in Vietnam? Which beach is best in Vietnam.

Vietnam is a country that is gaining popularity in the field of beach tourism. The coast here is amazingly beautiful. Travel agencies offer many excellent places to stay. But before going on vacation, many people begin to worry about the question: where is the best place to go in this country? There are places worthy of attention both in the north and in the south, so the choice is quite wide.

Northern beaches of Vietnam

The coast of the northern region is not very popular among guidebook compilers, but it is quite possible to find interesting places for a beach holiday there. The difference between the north and the south and the central region is that local residents prefer to relax here. For example, Bai Chai Beach, a northern beach near the capital. If you come to see Vietnam, the white sand beaches interest you as much as the country's cities. So, by going to Bai Chai Beach, you can successfully combine a relaxing holiday on the beach with excursions to the sights of Hanoi. In addition, Halong Bay deserves attention. The rocky islands surrounding the bay make for scenic boat rides, and the small beaches are great for sunbathing and swimming, and for watching an amazingly beautiful sunset.

Central beaches of Vietnam

In this part of the country, it is worth visiting China Beach, located between Da Nang and Hoi An. If you go on holiday between May and October, you will definitely enjoy this beach. The clean water will please any tourist, and surfers will love the waves. Despite its notoriety - it was where the Americans first landed during the war - China Beach is an excellent resort with top-class service. Not far from Hoi An there is another wonderful beach - Lang Co. This place is included in the top thirty best beaches on the planet. The reasons for such a high rating are simple: soft and clean sand, clear sea water, picturesque green mountains and lush tropical vegetation around. It was here that the kings of the Nguyen dynasty built their residences, and this says a lot. Finally, the place with the best sunsets in Asia. Resorts here will suit wallets of all sizes, so this island is predicted to become the new Phuket.

Southern beaches of Vietnam

The best time to go to the south of the country is from December to May. In the summer and autumn months there is a rainy season associated with constant typhoons and downpours. When exploring Vietnam beaches for a relaxing holiday, try Vung Tau. This is one of the most popular resorts here, located near Ho Chi Minh City. Nha Trang is no less famous. This place combines natural beauty with the convenience of a small town located here. In addition, thirty kilometers from here there is the picturesque Doc Let Beach - a secluded beach where you can go to relax from the crowd. Here, in Nha Trang, is an ideal place for diving. There are specialized equipment stores in the city. Here you have the opportunity to choose instructors of different qualifications.

For Russian tourists, when holidaying in Vietnam, beach holidays come first. Taking this into account, package tours to resorts are compiled. Tours without seaside holidays in this country are extremely rare.
On the map (below on this page) blue stars indicate the main beaches or their chains. After clicking on the star, you will be taken to a page with a description of the beach. Not all beaches are shown on the map due to the fact that there are so many of them.

Tran Phu city beach and a line of hotels in Nha Trang. This is perhaps the most famous beach in Vietnam.

In Vietnamese, the word "beach" is written bãi, pronounced "bai". This word can be found at the beginning of the names of many Vietnamese beaches. Long Beach - bãi dài (pronounced like a cross between "bai zay" and "bai dai").

The beaches in Vietnam are sandy, the sand is white and yellow-brown. There are only a few pebbly beaches along the entire coast. One of them is located in Tuy Phong County, Binh Thuan Province and is interesting because the pebbles on it are multi-colored: blue, gray, yellow, white and purple. Another part of the pebble beaches is located on the small islands of Kien Giang province.
The descent into the water is, in most cases, gentle or moderately steep. On a flat slope, at low tide the water's edge moves towards the sea, sometimes significantly. But there are very few of them.

Secluded Dailan Beach 80 km north of Nha Trang.

Most of the beaches are located on the mainland coast. Of the islands, the most popular are on the island of Phu Quoc. The popularity of beach holidays in the Con Dao archipelago is gradually increasing.
The beaches on Cat Ba and Tuan Chau in Halong Bay are slightly worse in their characteristics.
Beaches on smaller islands are often even better than on the mainland and larger islands, but they have little or no recreational infrastructure.

The most famous beaches in the world in Vietnam are: in the south - the beaches of Nha Trang and Bai Zai on the island of Phu Quoc, in the central part of the country - “Chinese Beach”, which refers to the beaches of Da Nang and Cua Dai (pronounced roughly like “cua hai” in Vietnamese) near the town Hoi An in Central Vietnam.
The northernmost beach in Vietnam is Cha Co, the southernmost is Khai Long.

Based on the totality of natural characteristics, perhaps the best choice is the beaches in Shongkau. Here is the longest period of comfortable rest, clean water and sand. But they are not yet suitable for package tours - the infrastructure is poorly developed. There are only two new hotels in the entire area and they are both expensive: one is 4-star and one is 5-star. Tourists hoping for a more budget-friendly vacation will have to rent an apartment.

Features by area

The beaches of northern Vietnam are divided into two parts by the Red River Delta.
The first is north of the Red River delta. They are found on some of the islands in Ha Long Bay, as well as on the mainland to the Chinese border. Comfortable sea water temperatures last from the end of March until the end of October. Beach holidays here in summer are hampered by high temperatures and rain.
The second is south of the Red River delta. They are on the mainland. Comfortable sea water temperatures last from the end of March until the end of November. The climate is slightly different from the terrain of the first group of beaches. The summer months are less rainy, but September is the opposite.

In central Vietnam, the dry period lasts from March to August. Comfortable sea water temperatures last from early March to early December. However, in October-November it rains heavily and therefore a normal beach holiday in these two months is possible only during breaks between typhoons and floods. In December-February the water temperature is 22-23 °C.

The beaches of central Vietnam have their advantages. These include breezes, high salinity of water, and ample opportunities for water sports.

In southern Vietnam, the water temperature rarely drops below 25 °C, and only rain can interfere with a beach holiday. The rainiest months are June, July and September, but the intensity of precipitation cannot be compared with the autumn in average Vietnam.

Seaside resorts and beaches in Vietnam first developed near large cities. In the 20th century, this was done by the French colonial administration, then by the US Army for the recreation of its military personnel. Therefore, beaches were not always located in the most suitable climate areas. Currently, the beaches of the far south have the greatest development prospects, where the air and water temperature almost never drops below 25 C, typhoons and simple storms occur less frequently than in the north, and the humid climate is not as pronounced as in other parts of the country. This is the island of Phu Quoc, which has reached an acceptable level, and the island of Con Dao, which is approaching it, where hotels are being built and where the number of flights from Ho Chi Minh City has increased.

Transport and infrastructure

All along the coast, especially in South Vietnam, there are many beautiful sandy beaches with little or no infrastructure or entertainment industry. However, on many of these beaches there are small hotels and bungalows. Sometimes they are owned by foreigners. A holiday on such beaches will cost 2-3 times less than in well-known resorts. Moreover, they are located several tens to hundreds of meters from the main highway No. 1 or from the railway.
There are no officially designated nude sea beaches (for nudists) or any other special type in Vietnam.

What the beaches, where there are restaurants and cafes, have in common is an abundance of local seafood. Often there is some kind of fishing village nearby, which supplies restaurants with fresh fish, crabs, and shellfish every day.

The advantage of Vietnam is the topography of its territory. In most cases, mountains and jungles begin relatively close to the sea coast. Therefore, your vacation on the beaches can be diversified with a 2-3-day trip to nature reserves to see real jungles, wild and domestic elephants, and other animals. However, as a result of various human activities, there are fewer and fewer wild animals. At the same time, there is another trend - the construction of places for keeping wild animals in tourist destinations.

Transport accessibility to most beaches, including those that are little developed, is good. This is facilitated by the fact that the main road and railway run along the sea coast.

In Vietnam, almost all beaches have white sand. Therefore, the choice of resorts is very large and you can pay attention to their other features. For example, Mui Ne - formerly it was a small village where they were engaged in fishing, and now it is a resort that is gaining popularity among tourists. Its peculiarity is that, with a fairly developed infrastructure, it still retains its original flavor; the locals still engage in fishing. By the way, for a small fee they can happily show you fishing spots and rent out your fishing equipment. But Nha Trang is the complete opposite of Mui Ne; it has always been in the center of attention among tourists and can safely be called the beach capital of Vietnam. There, along with beautiful beaches, you will have the opportunity to do economical shopping, visit SPA and mud baths, nightclubs, bars, learn diving or surfing in special schools, attend many excursions to ancient architectural monuments, etc. No less popular Hanoi. This capital is distinguished by the fact that it very harmoniously and subtly combines elements of Eastern and Western cultures. You can feel it literally in everything; you just need to walk along the streets of the old city for a couple of hours to see it. And, of course, there are all the same entertainments as in Nha Trang. But Hoi An is the embodiment of Chinese culture. There is one remarkable beach in the city, An Bang. Previously, it was very popular only among local residents, since tourists simply did not know about it (it was not on any map). But now it is becoming more and more popular, although it is still considered a fairly quiet and secluded place in the lap of nature. The remaining beaches are more crowded, very long and with well-developed infrastructure. Phu Quoc resort is an island surrounded by white beaches and a dense jungle in the center. It, too, like Mui Ne, was not previously popular among tourists, but now it is becoming more and more attractive among connoisseurs of a quiet and relaxing holiday away from civilization. Especially many tourists come there in winter, since at this time there is a calm and warm sea and little tropical heavy rain. Therefore, the island is trying to meet the needs of tourists and is developing very actively; there is already an international airport, restaurants for the most sophisticated public, casinos, bars and nightclubs. But despite all this, most of Phu Quoc is still green jungle thickets where you can go on safari.

The beaches of Vietnam are heavenly corners of the South China Sea coast. For more than 20 years they have been famous as wonderful places for taking sea and air baths.

100% of Vietnam's beaches are covered with white or yellow-brown sand. There are only a few pebble rookeries in the country. One of them (in Binh Thuan province) is famous for the fact that the stones on it are of different colors: white, purple, blue, yellow.

In the fishing villages and ports of Vietnam you can find concrete piers with ramps for fishing boats, but even such structures are rare. The beaches of Vietnam are surrounded by lush tropical vegetation: palm trees, bread and fig trees, and fern thickets.

The descent into the water at most rookeries in the country is gentle or moderately steep. The sand is washed onto it by the sea surf. During low tides, the ocean on some beaches recedes 100 meters or more. You need to swim in such corners of the shore carefully and only in the first half of the day, so as not to fall into the oncoming waters and not be left without watercraft on the open sea.

The only drawback of Vietnam's beaches– absence of rescuers in 50-60% of them. This is due to objective reasons. The total length of the country's coastline is more than 3,200 km, and it is simply impossible to station special services personnel everywhere, to equip them with patrol posts and places for basing watercraft everywhere. But in large resorts there are no problems with safety, and every tourist can be calm: rescue and first aid are carried out very quickly and without unnecessary delays.

Each beach in Vietnam has its own distinctive features and positive aspects. In different places at different times, the shores are best suited for different types of recreation. In winter, the beaches of the southern part of Vietnam are especially good. Off the coast of these places, light winds and small waves create ideal conditions for regular, kite and wind surfing, yachting and other water sports.

Beaches that are located on small islands such as Phu Quoc, on the contrary, are characterized by calm sea waters and a complete absence of strong air currents.
If we compare the ratio of comfort, the number of sunny days and the beauty of the coastline, the best beaches in Ve Tam are the beaches of Nha Trang, Phan Thiet and Da Nang.

Nha Trang– the beach capital of Vietnam. The shores in this city and its surroundings are places that seem to have come straight out of pictures of advertising brochures. Well-groomed, beautiful, with white sand and clear water, they wordlessly encourage tourists to relax at the resort as much and as often as possible.

Beaches are scattered along the entire coast of Nha Trang and nearby villages. Their total length is about 30 km. The width in different places varies from 20 to 50 meters. The surface is sandy everywhere, with a small number of shells.

Vinpearl Island Beach

Hon Tre Island is the largest island of the islands located near Nha Trang. The inscription in huge white letters Vinpearl is clearly visible from anywhere on Nha Trang beach and resembles the Hollywood inscription in Los Angeles. Vinpearl is a grand amusement park that is actively visited by tourists every day at any time of the year.

Beach of Vietnam's Vinpearl Island famous white sand. This tiny one snow-white sand was brought to the island from many kilometers away beach Bai Zai(Bai Dai), located in the vicinity of the city of Cam Ranh. Vinpearla Beach is equipped with sun loungers and umbrellas and is always very crowded.

There is a cable car leading to Vinpearl Island. It is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the longest cable car over the ocean. You can get there by bus.

Zok Let Beach

Living in Nha Trang, we heard a lot about Zok Let beach as one of the most beautiful white sand beaches in Vietnam. We also went there on our motorbike. Zok Let beach is located 45 km north of Nha Trang and the travel time took us about 2 hours one way. We must say that the road there was quite difficult for us. It was heavily congested with traffic, as it is the main route in Vietnam connecting the north and south of the country. But several beautiful Buddhist temples along the way brightened up our path. And when we got to Zok Leta, we realized that we had not traveled in vain. The beach was really beautiful! We saw a beautiful white sand beach and the purest, azure water. Sand of Vietnamese beach Zoc Let for real white and very fine like flour. The coastline of the beach is completely covered with picturesque dunes, where you can arrange excellent photo sessions.

Bai Dai Beach

25 km south of Nha Trang is the huge and magnificent Bai Zai. Bai Zai- This beach with the most white and small sand in Vietnam. It was from Bai Zai that sand was brought to the beach of the Vinpearl entertainment island.

During our winter in Nha Trang, we came to Bai Zai Beach at least twice a week. The beach is located on the way to the city of Cam Ranh, so it is also called the beach in Cam Ranh. The road there by motorbike took us about 40 minutes one way, and every time we were delighted with the beauty and splendor of the road to Bai Zai. The most picturesque photos of mountain and sea landscapes were taken by us on the way to Cam Ranh. This is a magnificent mountain serpentine, along which it is a pleasure to drive! The quality of the road is ideal, and the views from it are mesmerizing.

Bai Zai has become our favorite beach! – this is 15 km white sand and high dunes overgrown with yucca and agave bushes. The construction of hotels here was only in its early stages. Therefore, for now this place remained deserted and was very attractive for this reason. Bai Zai- This beach in Vietnam, where you can fully enjoy the kilometers white sand and the ocean with foamy surf. The only disadvantage of Bai Zai beach is that in some places there is garbage on the shore that remains from fishing nets.

And at the end of our story about Bai Zai, let’s add a “fly in the ointment” to the idyllic picture snow-white sand this Vietnamese beach. We went to this beloved beach all the time while we spent the winter in Nha Trang. Deserted kilometers of sand dunes and the warm ocean playing with us in its waves gave us the feeling of being the only “owners” of this beach. While frolicking in the waves like children, we somehow completely lost our vigilance and forgot that our means of transportation, a motorbike, was standing far away from us on the road, the view of which was blocked by high dunes. Well, one day we didn’t find our motorbike, it disappeared! Something happened that, as we were assured, never happens in Vietnam - the theft of a motorbike. We think that we were tracked, since we came to Bai Zai regularly and thoughtlessly left the motorbike unattended for a long time. We got home by taxi, which we caught on the road for a long time.

We, of course, had to pay the due amount to the owner of the motorbike. So, be vigilant in Vietnam (as in any country in Southeast Asia) and find ways to park your motorbikes under supervision! After this incident, we did not stop coming to Bai Zai beach, and we began to leave the newly rented motorbike at one beach cafe, in the parking lot.

White sand beaches of Fukuoka

We traveled around Phu Quoc Island in December for 10 days. There are not many attractions in Fukuoka and mainly its nature and beaches. In the southeast of Phu Quoc Island there is one of the most beautiful white sand – Bai Sao beach. Sand of Bai Sao beach not easy white, A snow-white and soft as velvet! The sea water here is a dazzling sapphire color and curved palm trees hang over it along the shore. A wonderful holiday and perfect photos are guaranteed to you on Bai Sao Beach!

Bai Dai Beach

Beach Bai Give also considered one of the most beautiful beaches Vietnam with white sand and is located in the northwest of Phu Quoc Island. The tourist infrastructure of this beach is just beginning to develop, so Bai Dai is not yet deprived of its natural beauty. The sea here is a beautiful turquoise color and transparent. A dirt road runs along the entire beach line. Sandy paths lead from it to secluded areas of the beach.

Vung Bau Beach

Vung Bau- This white sand beach on Phu Quoc island, which is located south of Bai Dai Beach. This is a quiet beach with a small number of holidaymakers, with a calm azure sea. Vung Bau Beach has several seafood restaurants and a good selection of mid-price hotels.

Bai Gan Dau Beach

Another Phu Quoc island white sand beach- This Bai Gan Dau Beach. Bai Gan Dau is located on the remote northern tip of Phu Quoc Island. This beach is a gorgeous stretch of white sand fringed with palm trees.
