Hohensalzburg Fortress

Hellbrunn Castle

The main attraction of Salzburg is considered to be the Hohensalzburg Fortress. Built more than nine centuries ago, during the era of the ongoing struggle for power between the king and the pope, this fortress complex is the largest of its kind in Europe. Mozart House Museum
Salzburg is famous for the fact that the great Mozart was born and worked in this city. Here on Getreidegasse Nr. 9 the Mozart family lived and in this house since 1880, thanks to the International Mozart Foundation, there has been a museum dedicated to the great composer. The museum building carefully preserves children's and concert violins, which the famous little musician played, as well as other musical instruments of Mozart. Portraits of the composer's family members, as well as their letters, documents and everyday items are kept here.
On the second floor of the building there are exhibits reflecting Mozart’s theatrical activities and telling the history of his opera productions. Every year since 1981, with the support of the International Foundation, the Mozart House Museum opens its doors to visitors of thematic exhibitions dedicated to the work of the famous maestro.
In addition to the house in which Mozart was born, in Salzburg there is a house-museum in which the composer’s family lived after moving to the so-called “Dancemaster’s House”. In the spacious premises of the new house, meetings with great musicians of that time often took place.
