Tourist map of Salzburg. City discount card, Salzburg Card

If you're looking for a handy map of Salzburg, then the three maps we used might suit you. We were given our first card at the Turnerwirt Hotel, where we stayed for a couple of days in Salzburg. Here she is

How is it convenient?

1. Firstly, this is a map of Salzburg with attractions in Russian. All the city's attractions are numbered on it, as well as restaurants and bars, supermarkets, a train station, an airport, a shopping center - in general, everything that may be useful to you! Please download the transcript of the numbers under which this is all marked. You can download the map presented above in pdf format.

2. Also, numbers on this map of Salzburg indicate tourist routes and excursion trips, as well as places for ski tourism.

The only disadvantage of this map is that the public transport routes reflected on it are no longer relevant; some routes have already changed. If this information is important to you, then use the second map below.

This map of Salzburg is also with attractions - the top 10 main attractions of Salzburg on the map are marked with numbers from one to ten. It also shows current public transport routes. The routes themselves and their numbers are marked on the map in red. You need to be especially careful with routes going along the Salzach River, since the same route can go along both banks of the river, but in different directions. It's best to check with locals to see if you're heading in the right direction. We once sat on the wrong side and drove off into the residential areas of Salzburg.

The third map of Salzburg is transport.

The biggest advantage of this map is that it shows the routes of all types of public transport in Salzburg, each stop is marked. The map is easy to navigate because there are images of the main attractions on it. Information points are also marked on it.

Enjoy your travels around Salzburg!

As in many European cities, the association, which cares about saving money for visiting guests, has come up with an absolutely wonderful thing, namely, a discount card Salzburg Card. Tourists can purchase this discount card to receive free entry or significant discounts at many attractions in the city and surrounding area. In addition, this card allows its holders to use all state-owned vehicles in Salzburg for free! Wonderful!

The list of freebies on this card includes sightseeing, as well as the use of various services associated with them, for example, a cable car ride to the castle and the Untersberg mountains, entry to most museums, cruises on the Salzach River and discounts to most theaters. to concerts and day trips in and around the city.

Visitors can buy a Salzburg map at the airport, in almost all hotels and hostels, and at tourist information centers. Along with the card, you receive a brochure containing a list of all the attractions covered by the card. Please note that the card can only allow you to visit an attraction or event once.

Well, in general, purchasing a card is necessary for those who really intend to visit all possible places in the city. Not to say that the card is super-cheap, but not expensive either. If you're only in Salzburg for a day or so, then buying a 24-hour Salzburg Card is probably an expensive proposition. During the day you will have time to go to the castle, and maybe to one or two museums, or even not at all - then it’s easier to buy tickets directly at the museum.

Well, if you are going to walk or have already rented a bicycle, and are not going to jump from one city bus to another, just buy a one-time trip (costs less than 2 euros per one) - again, it will be cheaper. However, if you are staying in a city for a few days and want to visit the various museums and activities that the city has to offer, go on cruises, visit palaces and other attractions, or if you must use public transport frequently because your hotel does not in the center, the card will become a faithful assistant in saving money!

By the way, here What transport does the card apply to?(in the sense of what you can ride on the map for free):

Bus lines 1 - 14 within the city

Albus bus lines: city bus A, lines 20 - 35, line 151

Postbus lines: 32, 180, 170 to Rif/Taxach villages

What attractions to visit in Salzburg?

The settlement that ranks fourth in size in Austria is Salzburg. The capital amazes with its Baroque architecture and, of course, beautiful landscapes. There really is a lot to see in this place.

Salzburg - attractions on the map

Attractions marked on the map of Salzburg:

Hohensalzburg Fortress,
Mirabell Palace,
House of Nature,
Nonnberg Abbey,
Mozart Museum,
Fountain at Residenzplatz,
Church of St. Maximilian,
Domplatz Square,
Franciscan Church,
Monastery Church,
Mirabellgarten.

Hohensalzburg Fortress

The symbol of the city, so strong and impregnable, is the Hohensalzburg Fortress. It is very well preserved and offers a magnificent view of the entire city. To climb the fortress, you can use the funicular or walk along the stairs.

The palace, which is located in the fortress, is made in the Romanesque style. The princely chambers and halls are also available for inspection at the moment. By the way, the fortress now houses a museum of puppets.

Nonnberg Abbey

Nonnberg is a convent. Now the church is open to tourists. You can also wander around the backyard of the abbey, learn a little about the history of the place and get inspired by its culture. Believe me, each building has its own zest, which makes it special and sets it apart from many others.

Goldegg Castle

The castle was built back in the 14th century. Most of all, tourists’ attention is attracted by the so-called “women’s quarters” and the knight’s hall, decorated with luxurious elements of that era and various frescoes. Today the castle is one of the largest cultural centers. To this day there is a local history museum and art academy located there.

Hellbrunn Castle

This castle has its own extraordinary style. It carries a certain mystery. There is a park next to it that amazes with its size and inspires you to great deeds. Water plays the most important role in Hellbrunn. Just imagine how springs from the mountains bring water for fountains that amaze with their beauty. There is a constant alternation of light and shadow, fear and fun, as well as some mischief and seriousness. Big celebrations, luxurious performances and everything that can be called the main event in life are held here in Hulbrunn.

Salzburg Cathedral

A must-see is the Salzburg Cathedral. This building is simply unique; it is made in the Baroque style with religious architecture that has survived to this day. The history of its creation is kept somewhere very far away, it is a little mystery for everyone. It is known that a fire destroyed the building, but in the 17th century it was restored almost to its original form.
