Economy v what. Tariffs and conditions

On November 1, 2016, Aeroflot launched new tariffs, the main distinguishing feature of which is that now all three groups - Budget, Optimum and Maximum (until 01/29/2019 it was called Premium)- will always be available, while earlier, as tickets disappeared from the sale of cheap fares, only expensive ones remained, in which the passenger paid for the services he did not need. Roughly speaking, if you want to suddenly fly from Moscow to St. Petersburg on Friday evening - please, 20 thousand rubles for the "Maximum" tariff. Yes, the tariff is fully refundable and you can take two suitcases even if you don't need it. Now you can still fly to Peter in last moment for 20 thousand rubles, but ... at the "Budget" tariff, without overpaying for unnecessary services. "Optimum" in the same direction at the last moment will cost 21,000 rubles, and "Maximum" - 22,500 rubles.

That is, there was no price reduction in this case, and if you buy a ticket at the last moment, it will still be expensive, and even more expensive than before; to save money due to the absence of overpayment for unnecessary services, in fact, will not work.

It is quite another matter to buy return rates well in advance. If now, for example, the cheapest "Maximum" costs 15,000 rubles one way, then from November 1 it will cost only 4,000 rubles. This will make tariffs with included additional services much more affordable. Moreover, a life hack appears: you can collect return tickets for any dates for six months in advance, and then calmly return them before departure (but not after departure, as before) if your plans have changed.

It is worth noting that the cheapest "Maximum" now costs even less than the cheapest "Optimum" cost before - for example MOW-LED it is 4000 rubles instead of 5000, and, for example, in New York now "Optimum" costs from 360 euros for a round-trip ticket, and the new “Maximum” will cost 290. This is important when it comes to upgrading for miles - before it was possible with “Optimum” and “Maximum”, now - only with “Maximum”, and this is done because "Optimum" has become much cheaper, and "Maximum" too - that is, the entry threshold for a mile upgrade will decrease. But there is one caveat: this is good only for those who deliberately buy Maximum for their money, so that later they can upgrade to Comfort or Business for miles - this is much more profitable than initially buying the corresponding tickets. However, business travelers will now take, of course, mainly the "Budget" at public expense, since it will always be available and will always be cheaper than the "Optimum" and "Maximum". So an upgrade will become the privilege of those who travel at their own expense.

You can study the tariffs and prices in more detail in the attached tables. The numbers indicate prices in rubles for domestic flights and in euros for international flights, excluding taxes and fees. The letter R after the number means a round trip fare, the absence of a letter means a one way fare. The next columns are the fare code (you can see it, for example, in the itinerary receipt) and the booking class. In old fares, tickets are sold in order (in ascending order), in new fares, three options will be open at once: first N / N + / N ++, then E / E + / E ++ and so on up to Y / Y + / Y ++. In our example, it can be seen that the difference between “Budget” and “Optimum” in one direction is 1000 rubles, between “Optimum” and “Maximum” - 1500 on domestic flights, and on international - 35 and 60 euros, respectively. On round-trip tickets, the difference is twice as large.

Within one class of air tickets (business or economy), there is a division according to the type of fare. At the same time, passengers of the same class, regardless of the type of fare, receive exactly the same set of services and can take any seat in the economy class cabin. So what do these Y, B, M, H, Q, K, L, U, T on the ticket mean?

Strictly speaking, economy class fares differ in terms of return and exchange of tickets, the size of the discount for children, and the validity of the ticket. The conditions for applying the fare determine the amount of the fine for ticket refunds, the specifics of settlements when changing different sections of the route, the possibility of making changes to the route, for example, changing the name of the passenger or the date of departure.

Fares are indicated in the tickets by letter codes. But the notation system and fare conditions differ depending on the airline.

In general, three main tariff groups can be distinguished:

In addition, some tariffs may have additional restrictions. Such as, for example, the ability to choose a seat in the salon at check-in. And the last thing - for different fares, a different amount of bonus miles is credited.

The conditions on board will be the same regardless of the chosen fare, and the difference in price may vary by 7 times. So the conclusion is simple: if you are sure that the plans will not change, take the cheapest tariff.

Today, visiting any part of the planet is available to everyone. Air travel makes this easy. However, such voyages are designed for different levels of comfort. Let's decide how to choose a flight class and what you should pay attention to when purchasing a ticket.

Taking into account the modern level of various airlines in the world, passengers independently choose the classes of service on the planes. Based on the degree of travel convenience, tourists have the right to purchase tickets of the first, business or economy category. In addition, these three main areas of service imply an internal division according to the degree of booking and other conditions.

In general, the class of booking air tickets is an encoding in the form of Latin characters that determines specific quotas for the number of seats or time limits for booking, etc. This definition should not be confused with service level, as both categories have different characteristics. In order to understand a little with the information presented, we will tell you more about all the possible nuances.

Service of the highest category

On intercontinental flights, competitive airlines offer all-inclusive flights to affluent passengers. The first class on such ships is a separate "room" where the tourist is provided with a full sleeping place, a choice of a menu of upscale restaurants and a full range of entertainment. Sometimes on board ships offering such services, there are individual shower units and dressing rooms.

Of course, the chairs here are made of materials High Quality and are equipped with convenient features: massage, heating, orthopedic seats. The seat assumes its transformation into a full bed or its additional installation. In addition, some airlines add a private bar and cinema to the services of affluent customers.

On tickets such places are indicated by marking them with the symbols "P", "F" or "A". The “P” mark means the reservation of individual superior cabins. It relies on separate beds for sleeping, satellite communications and TV monitors. Similar conditions are feasible on Airbus A330 or Boeing 747 200. The 'F' marking assumes first class travel in general rules... Designation "A" indicates the provision of a seat on special conditions - at a discount offered by the airline at the peak of seasonal flights.

In addition, first class passengers have additional privileges. At the airport, these people check in in a separate hall or compartment. Here they are provided with individual waiting rooms with everything they need, including showers. Unlimited internet, a selection of snacks and drinks, comfortable furniture and other entertainment - the minimum set at any airport for passengers flying in this class. Such a category of tourists gets to the airport by individual special transport of premium class, and the standards for the carriage of baggage for such passengers are much higher than the standard minimum established by the airlines.

Flights with improved comfort

Business class cabins are replacing first-class travel with domestic and international flights short range. In addition, some types of aircraft, such as the Boeing 777 200, are equipped with both types of cabins. Increased comfort conditions imply an increase in the number of seats hand luggage client - 2 units versus one seat for passengers flying on general terms. In addition, the airlines have provided for a sufficient amount of space between the rows of seats, twin seats, which in most cases are located on the sides of the liner. Typically, the following seat options are used here:

  1. Backrest folding angle 160º... The standard seat widths here range from 440 to 860 mm. Passages between the lines range from 0.84 to 2.02 meters, depending on the dimensions of the liner.
  2. 180º folding chairs... Here the dimensions of the seats range from 460 mm to 580 mm, and the dimensions of the aisles will be at least 1.4 meters. The maximum width between the seats is up to 1.7 m. The reclining angle of the backrest allows you to transform the seat into a comfortable sleeping place and minimizes the client's discomfort on the plane.

When flying, Wi-Fi is available here, a choice from a wide range of menus, the ability to charge gadgets and get acquainted with the latest press. The airports for such passengers have also provided some privileges. These people register either at a separate terminal or bypassing the general queue. In addition, the waiting area for such clients is equipped with fairly comfortable conditions for staying in separate rooms.

Passengers who have canceled their trip have the opportunity to return their tickets at their nominal value or postpone the trip at a convenient time. As for the marking of the ticket, the symbols "J", "C", "D", "Z", "I" are classified in the business class category.

Moreover, the "J" mark indicates the reservation of premium-class seats. Here, the seats will be more spacious, the selection of drinks and snacks will be wider. In addition, this category of customers has the right to count on the provision of additional entertainment During the flight.

The abbreviation "C" stands for business class travel on a general basis, and the last three characters indicate seat reservations with the likelihood of a decrease in price during the season. As you can see special conditions flights allow you to travel in comfort. The only drawback in this situation is the high cost of the ticket - usually the price of such seats in the cabin is about four times higher than the cost of a standard air ticket.

General Conditions of Flights

Since we have stipulated the main characteristics of places of high and increased comfort, we will move on to the issues of providing services of a standard type. When purchasing a ticket to an economy cabin, some people flying for the first time ask: “B class on an airplane - what is it?”. This designation indicates the possibility of providing discounts by the airline during the peak tourist season. The symbol refers to the category of booking and has an indirect relationship to the conditions of the flight.

For economy class passengers, the carrier allocates most of the cabin, because this option is very popular among residents of any country

If we talk about comfort, the economy class of any liner is represented by standard seats, which are located rather compactly, which lowers the comfort of customers on the way. Some of the seats are subject to certain restrictions - the backs of the seats at the emergency passages and seats located in front of the food and sanitary blocks do not recline or do not unfold completely.

Seats of this class occupy the main part of the liner and are located in the middle and tail area of the side. Their layout usually follows a 3: 3 or 3: 4: 3 scheme, depending on the type and model of the aircraft. As a rule, there is no question of a comfortable flight here, but each of the seats, nevertheless, is equipped with an armrest and a convertible table. Although the company offers food for passengers who have chosen such travel conditions only on condition of a flight of more than two hours.

The service offered to economy class passengers includes only the essentials for the duration of the flight

Low-cost airlines specializing in short-term flights exclude free provision of food altogether. Here passengers rely exclusively on a limited number of drinks. For customers occupying standard seats, airlines provide some restrictions on the allowance for hand luggage (on average up to 10 kg) and baggage (about 23 kg).

Registration of such people takes place at a common counter at the airport, the lounge area here is also public and does not imply any special frills. The bus delivers passengers directly to the plane, and in some cases, clients get there on their own. All possible inconveniences are compensated by the low cost of the trip - air tickets to the common salon are affordable for most residents of the country. Let's consider some of the nuances of the flight that a trip of this level of service involves in more detail.

About economy booking classification

As in situations with the purchase of tickets to a cabin with an increased degree of convenience, there are several options for passengers of different levels of solvency and claims. Experts refer to the economy class codings as “W”, “S”, “Y”, “B”, “H”, “K”, “L”, “M”, “N”, “Q”, “T” , "V", "X", "O" and "G" reservation categories. Let's consider them in the given order.

The Latin symbol in the "class" column of the ticket indicates the category of the passenger's flight

The "W" symbol implies the possibility of the client to take premium seats in the cabin. Usually the distance in front of such chairs is increased, sometimes the seats themselves are located in pairs (in emergency exits on some modifications of the liners). Fixed and standard conditions assumes category "S" and class "Y" in the aircraft. What does this mean? Experienced tourists know that tickets with such markings do not provide for any changes in terms of the agreed conditions of travel or cost.

The remaining symbols, with the exception of the "G" marking, suggest the possibility of reducing the cost of the flight at the decision of the airline. This includes the "N" class in the aircraft, the "Q" and "T" markings. Category "V" is considered youth, and the characters "K" and "L" - cheap seats which are sometimes discounted.

On some large liners places in the tail of the side are called "tourist". It is for this category that you can purchase tickets marked "class M". In an airplane, this level is served under the same conditions as category "Y" or with some restrictions.

A purchased ticket to an economy cabin marked "M" means that this type of seat is subject to airline discounts at the peak of seasonal flights.

As for the “G” mark, here the airlines provide for group seat reservations. A similar practice is used for charter flights, when the tour operator buys only part of the liner or a separate block of seats. In addition, there are other redundancy class encodings. Economy class "E" on the plane means that it is not possible to choose a seat in advance. Here the passenger determines the seat during check-in. The “U” symbol says that a seat reservation is not required, since all the seats are guaranteed for customers, according to the fare of their ticket.
Finally, note that airlines independently control the number of tickets that offer discounts. Keep in mind that with a decrease in the comfort class, the quota for the number of air tickets decreases proportionally.

When purchasing a plane ticket, passengers independently determine the class of service on the liner
Flying in first class aircraft is the most expensive but most comfortable way to travel.
Flying in business class offers certain privileges for passengers, as well as an increased degree of seating comfort and service.
For business class passengers, the airport has a separate check-in terminal and a convenient waiting room

For any experienced traveler, one glance at his ticket will be enough to get comprehensive information about the flight, booking, prices and rules that a particular class is subject to. However, if you don't travel too often, the abundance of fares can be intimidating and panic-stricken. And this is definitely not worth doing. It is better to figure it out once and for all with the possible classes and their rules, prices. Deciphering Aeroflot tariffs is not such a difficult task if you know the algorithm.

Please note that it does not matter where you buy a ticket (at the box office, on the website or on the agent's resource), the main thing here is to familiarize yourself with the fare rules. They validate your rights and the rights of the carrier. Usually they cover not only the comfort of the seat, but also the orders of return, boarding and so on. All this is very important if you need to exchange or return tickets. Cheap services are not the most correct selection criterion. It should be understood that low price due to only one thing - a huge number of restrictions. How cheaper ticket- the more of them and the more inconvenient it will be in critical situations. Now there are such classes of tariffs:

  1. Promo-economy.
  2. Budget-economy.
  3. Optimum economy.
  4. Economy status.
  5. Optimum business.
  6. Business status.

For each of them, letter coding is also applied. It is worth taking a closer look at the most popular classes.

Promo-economy is considered to be the simplest and cheapest fare from Aeroflot. But there are many restrictions and prohibitions here. It is difficult to call it convenient. Aeroflot calls this booking class suitable for students and budget travelers. An open date for the return flight is, of course, prohibited here. It is also worth knowing that the date of the return flight here, in principle, cannot be any. You need to be at your destination until the next Sunday, otherwise you simply won't fly out at this rate.

However, if the flight is carried out between cities of Russia, then these rules do not apply. You can stay at your destination for no more than a month for any country and city.
Aeroflot has its own system for calculating bonuses. When there are enough of them, you can get a significant discount or even a free ticket. A different amount is assigned for each flight and class. In the case of an economy promo, this is 25% miles.

Transit conditions and transfers are prohibited in this tariff, so you won't be able to see any country along the way. Upgrades on boarding are also not permitted here.
There are also their own return conditions:

  • ticket refund, if there is more than a day left before departure - with a deduction of a commission of 25 euros;
  • less than a day - a fine of 25% of the ticket price and a total fee of 25 euros;
  • you cannot return a ticket right before departure.

If you fly in Russia, you can change some flight conditions with a fine of 2,000-4,000 rubles, but for flights abroad it is 100 euros. For children under 2 years old, it provides a 90% discount (in Russia, flights are generally free), but if the child is over two years old, then there are no discounts at all. The exception is Russian flights around the country for children aged 2 to 12, then a 25% discount is applied.

Economy class optimum Aeroflot: what is it?

This tariff is quite in demand, because, on the one hand, it is inexpensive, and on the other hand, there are an order of magnitude less restrictions. Aeroflot sells such an economy tariff most often. Here, as in the previous case, an open date of departure in the opposite direction is not allowed. However, there are no restrictions on the minimum stay at the destination. The maximum you can be in the country for six months.

Bonus miles here they make up a solid 150%. Transit connections are also allowed here. You can upgrade the class of service, but here there is a separate surcharge system for each flight. In case of a return, the following rules apply:

  • more than a day - a fee of 25 euros, for Russian destinations- 900 rubles;
  • less than a day - 25% of the total amount;
  • when boarding - prohibited.

The flight conditions can be changed by paying a fine of 50 euros. But if you fly to America, the amount will be 100 euros. For children under 2 years old, the same discounts apply as in the case of the previous fares, but if a child from 2 years old travels alone, unaccompanied, then he is given 0%, and with adults - 25%.

Business status: what are the conditions of this tariff?

There are classes of Aeroflot tickets that are suitable for more presentable customers who agree to pay many times more for the flight. But such tariffs also have a lot of advantages. Open date of return flight is allowed here. Bonus miles are 200%.

It is possible to stay at the point at the destination for up to a year, there is no minimum period. Transit connections are also permitted. The ticket refund policy is as follows:

  • more than a day - full refund, without any fines and surcharges;
  • less than a day - also a full refund;
  • upon registration - full refund.

You can change the flight conditions at no additional cost. Children under 2 years old travel with a 90% discount (in Russia - free of charge). From two years old, there is a 50% discount for accompanying adults.
It is noteworthy that similar conditions are provided under the status-economy tariff. Here, almost all conditions are duplicated, including the open date of return, the year of stay at the destination and 200% of bonus miles.

The return conditions are also duplicated here. You do not need to pay extra for any types of returned tickets, even if you decide to cancel your flight right before departure. What's changing here? In fact, only the quality of service on the flight, the convenience of the seat, the serving of drinks and meals.

However, each seat is equipped with a folding back and table, as well as comfortable armrests. Passengers may be provided with other services depending on the carrier company for which the class Y ticket was purchased. These usually include receiving hot meals with a choice of menus and hygiene kits.
