Cruise ships during a severe storm. The storm caused a panic on board the cruise ship, which was filmed

The ocean is a rather restless and sometimes simply wild element for a person, which is capable of destroying anything in its path. And it is the ocean that can spoil the romantic idea of such a popular form of rich recreation as a cruise on a liner over hundreds and thousands of kilometers. This is what happened the other day with the Norwegian cruise ship Escape, which was caught in a violent storm in the open waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Proofs of how defenseless even the most powerful technologies of humans are in the face of the raging elements were demonstrated in a shocking video filmed from a ship during complete chaos from a storm.

The incident itself happened to the ship Escape on March 3, 2019, a few hours after leaving the port of New York. Forecasters could not clearly predict the weather conditions on the way of the cruise ship, as under the influence of global anthropogenic warming, the climate of the oceans is becoming more unpredictable for meteorological services. The video, which shocked many and proved all the true fear of people of nature, was published some time later, after the passengers who filmed it were rescued and delivered to land.

The video clearly shows how a multi-ton steel ship squeaks, sways and uncontrollably collapses in the interior due to strong winds. Most of the video viewers were struck by the constant crackling of breaking glass, unsafe flying furniture in the inner deck, as well as the screams of injured people during the storm, making the scene incredibly creepy.

In just 40 seconds, captured by one of the passengers on the Escape in a moment of total chaos, many people were shocked at how horrible it really is to be on the ship during more tragic disasters like the infamous Titanic. According to American rescuers, during the storm, the ship was damaged only inside, and no fatalities were found among the passengers and crew, which is incredible luck in gusts of wind of 100 knots. Only a few from this ill-fated liner, upon returning to the port, required hospitalization due to minor injuries.

On modern cruise ships, almost everything is provided for an expensive luxury vacation - restaurants, bars, swimming pools, gyms, tennis courts. The refined interior of the cabins is literally full of luxury. Resting in such conditions, people often forget that they are in the open ocean, and their lives are in much greater danger than in an ordinary five-star hotel on land.

Sometimes nature reminds a person who is the boss in the world. And often such reminders are very unpleasant and even dangerous for passengers. Modern pleasure craft are designed to withstand violent storms. Although, despite the increased security measures, even they are sometimes unable to withstand the onslaught of the elements. Occasionally, crew members, passengers or security cameras manage to film the events taking place on cruise ships during a storm. And judging by the videos, for many observers, the storm is not a natural disaster, but a lot of fun. But this is until the raging sea rushes into indoor spaces the ship where the people are located.

Below are seven shocking videos from cruise ships.

1. Crazy racing

This video was captured on a security camera in 2010, 400 km from New Zealand during a violent storm. The cruise ship found itself in the very center of the raging elements. Some add funny music to this video and present what is happening as something comical, although there is clearly nothing funny in what is happening. As a result of the storm, dozens of people were injured, including serious ones, and a lot of loose furniture and things were broken or destroyed. Following this incident, the cruise line introduced 25 percent discounts on future cruises to all passengers on this tour in an effort to save a shaken reputation.

2. The cruel sea

This video was filmed on an unidentified ship. Here furniture literally shatters to pieces as a result of the strongest roll of the ship. Tables, along with the rest, are demolished and smashed against walls and other furniture. This is especially evident at 1:43. In the middle of the surveillance camera recording, one of the women, despite the serious danger, stands in the middle of the room and tries to film the raging chaos.

3. Deadly waves

One of the creepiest videos ever. The passenger managed to take it off at a time when huge waves were beating overboard. This disaster happened to a Greek cruise ship in 2010. The video shows how a huge wave breaks through the glass wall of the liner and rushes into the ship. People fought desperately for their lives, but, unfortunately, victims could not be avoided. During the storm, 2 people died and more than ten were injured. The tragic moment of the disaster is clearly visible at 26 seconds of recording.

4. Stills from a cruise ship or a new movie from James Cameron? Part I

This video was posted by one of the insurance companies that insures the life and health of those who go to sea cruises... The incident took place in 2011 during a storm. The video shows a giant wave breaking through a glass wall in one of the back rooms.

5. Stills from a cruise ship or a new movie from James Cameron? Part II

The next video is about the same incident. Here events take on a more dramatic character. Water enters the playground through the hole, and this short-circuits the TV. A fire breaks out. Fortunately, the staff reacted in time and did not let the fire spread. But the extinguishing operation itself was very risky. After all, the employee who fought with the fire was standing in the water while the TV was burning due to a short circuit.

6. Passengers have a good time on the ship during a severe storm

One of the passengers on the liner filmed a violent storm outside the ship. The onslaught of the waves was so strong that it seemed that the observation windows would not stand it. It is worth saying that the British Queen Elizabeth got into this storm on her way to New York. Fortunately, no one was hurt, the ship survived, and the passengers seem more cheerful than frightened.

7. Cruise entertainment

In this video, passengers captured huge waves hitting the upper decks of the ship. At the same time, people stand behind a transparent fence, and for them it is rather entertainment. In addition, the authors of the video claim that they shot the video by accident during a karaoke show. According to them, the storm did not prevent them from continuing the show further.

The ship was hit by a cyclone bomb raging near the United States.

A video appeared on the web filmed on the Norwegian Breakaway cruise ship, which hit the "cyclone bomb"... The element until recently raged in the United States and did a lot of harm.

Storm you say?

The worst storm in the history of the US Navy hit the Fleet Bull, led by Admiral Halsey, on December 17 and 18, 1944, off Luzon in the Philippines. 790 people, 3 ships and 156 planes drowned. In addition, 28 ships fell into disrepair.

During World War II, the US Navy's Pacific Weather Forecast Station was located in Honolulu. The station had devices that were effective and perfect for that time. But even she was unable to map the progress of the monstrous typhoon with a front of 480 kilometers, which hit Admiral Halsey's 3rd Fleet on December 16, 1944, off the island of Luzon in the Philippines.

Thus, the worst natural disaster in the history of the US Navy struck the 3rd Fleet suddenly. 790 sailors were killed, 3 ships and 156 aircraft were lost. Another 28 ships were out of order.

The Third Fleet was returning after assisting General Douglas MacArthur's troops on a landing operation on Luzon Island. The fleet was now fueled east of the Philippines. The wind speed of the typhoon, which hit on December 17, reached 240 kilometers per hour, and the waves rose in relation to the level of the troughs between the waves by 30 meters.

By this time, the fleet was already battered by the war. Many ships have been in constant combat in the three years since Pearl Harbor. As a result, continuous 24-hour blows of waves and incredibly strong winds sent some ships to the bottom, while the rest were ripped off their rigging, armor, rivets. 156 aircraft were torn from the anchorages on the decks of aircraft carriers.

At the beginning of the storm, the flagship tried to maintain control of the fleet, but the force of the elements was so great that control was soon lost. The fleet scattered, and each ship fought for survival on its own.

The destroyer "Monohan", with a displacement of 1,500 tons, a veteran of 12 sea battles, capsized under the blows of giant waves. He went down with 256 officers and personnel. Only 6 people survived.

The destroyer Hull of the same design as the Monohon also turned over on its side. Waves and wind drove him from one place to another until he sank.

The Spence, with a displacement of 2,000 tons, capsized when a 30-meter wave threw it into a seemingly bottomless cavity between the waves. The officer and 70 sailors rushed into the water. Although the wind tore off some of the life jackets, everyone managed to survive.

The size of the losses forced the command of the US Navy to establish another weather station on the island of Guam, which monitored the weather in this part of the Pacific Ocean.

P.S> By the way. Somewhere in the same area was an English squadron. After the storm, the American admiral sent a message to the British admiral, "How did you survive the storm?" To which he replied: "Storm? What storm?" Like, pinned the Americans. Maybe this is a bike, but I met this story a couple of times on the Internet
