Reconstructed super-modern railway station at Zhlobin station.

I decided to go to the town of Zhlobin by a suburban train in order to get a clearer idea of how the Gomel region of the Republic of Belarus lives. Although Zhlobin cannot be called a province in the full sense of the word, because it stands at the intersection of 2 major railways, Bakhmach - Gomel - Minsk and St. Petersburg - Orsha - Korosten. Many times in my life I passed this station on the way to St. Petersburg, I remember there used to be a flourishing trade in soft toys, which is no longer there.

I found on the net a photo of this "unobtrusive" trade, which flourished 10 years ago. I think that many who traveled to St. Petersburg from Ukraine through Belarus remembered this station precisely for this.
By the way, I never would have thought that one day I would find myself in Zhlobin not as a passing passenger of a fast train.

The electrification of this famous station came just a few months ago. And I still remember Zhlobin of the 70s, when I watched the complete domination of TE3 diesel locomotives from the window of the train Kiev - Leningrad, and the Leningrad train itself crawled towards Mogilev in those days, slowly, like a turtle, bowing to every stop. Much water has flown under the bridge since that time.
Already at the end of the 80s, jointless tracks were laid in all directions from Zhlobin, which significantly increased the speed of movement, and the latest high-speed diesel locomotives TEP70 began to carry out traction. And finally, this locomotive kingdom, in the second ten of the 21st century, waited for the same electrification, which came here along the main axial direction, from Minsk.
But with electric locomotives, the warhead is still under tension, traction on the Minsk-Osipovichi-Zhlobin section is still carried out mainly by diesel locomotives. The entire warhead has only 15 CHS4T passenger electric locomotives in its assets. With the cargo situation, the situation is better, the Baranovichi depot has 53 cargo VL80S and 12 Chinese BKG1. All this, except for the "Chinese", was received by the Belarusian Railway in the first half of the 1980s, when the electrification of the Moscow-Brest main line was launched.
But let's hope that as the electric traction moves towards Gomel, the warhead will solve the problem with the traction train with the help of either the Chinese or the Russians.

The Minsk train was the only electric-powered rolling stock I had seen. Many people moved from the Gomel diesel engine to it in order to go further in the direction of Bobruisk and Minsk.
My hopes to see in Zhlobin the ChS4T "teremok" of Minsk, the VL80S baranovy "vydel" or even the Chinese BKG1, turned out to be in vain.

The modern electronic scoreboard made an impression.

The main line Minsk - Gomel - Bakhmach goes to the southeast, to the bridge over the Dnieper, to which there is no more than a kilometer. By the way, electrification ends exactly in front of this single-track bridge. On the right, you can see a line making a sharp turn to the south and going to Kalinkovichi and Korosten. It is clear from this sharp turn that the road to Korosten was built later, by the way, during the First World War.
And in Zhlobin there is a southern railway bypass, with a railway bridge across the Dnieper. Who knows he's working?

The railway came here 140 years ago, during the construction of Libavo-Romenskaya railroad... Crossing the road St. Petersburg - Orsha - Korosten was built at the beginning of the 20th century. Since then, Zhlobin has become one of the most important railway hubs in the western part of Russia - the USSR.

Each platform also has a separate electronic scoreboard.

The contact network on the Osipovichi - Zhlobin line was assembled by the Chinese using their own technology. And yes, she is somewhat different in appearance from our Russian.

Here, despite electrification, diesel trains still dominate. They walk in the direction of Kalinkovichi, Gomel and Mogilev.

Garbage collection at the station.
Perfect and total purity, this is the main business card and the lifestyle of the Belarusian state. One gets the feeling that all Belarusians are born, live and leave this world in perfect purity.
Here you have to try very hard to find an abandoned plastic bottle, cigarette butt or bag.

Cleaning is over. Not all of the bags were full.

From the side of Mogilev, under the Orsha TEP70, a train from St. Petersburg to Odessa arrived. In 6 hours it will be possible to see him in our Ukrainian Korosten.
