How much carry-on luggage is allowed nordwind. Carriage of baggage

Baggage is an invariable part of the flight. This is not surprising, because all passengers travel by plane with things, be it carry-on baggage or more massive cargo transported in a special compartment. Violation of current requirements and non-compliance with standards is fraught with many problems for the passenger, starting with the impossibility of making a flight and uploading additional costs. Below we will consider the rules for the carriage of baggage in the airline North wind.

What are the regulations?

The first thing that a passenger should study is the North Wind airline's baggage allowance, which is valid at the time of the flight. So, at the end of April 2017, certain changes took place in the conditions of transportation.

Today the following norms apply:

  • For carry-on luggage the limiting dimensions (per seat) are 115 cm or 55 * 40 * 20 cm. As for the weight, here the limiting parameter depends on the direction. If we are talking about a domestic flight, the limit is 10 kg, and for an international flight, this figure is 5 kg.
  • Registered cargo transportation at the carrier the North Wind is carried out taking into account other norms. So, for domestic flights, the maximum weight should not exceed 10 kg (for the "Promo" tariff), 20 kg (for "Standard" and "Standard Plus"), as well as 32 kg (for the "Comfort" plan). In case of international flight the limit is 20 kg, except for the Comfort fare, where the maximum weight is 32 kg. Maximum dimensions - 203 cm (in total).

North Wind baggage allowance may vary depending on destination and rates. At the same time, the current rules apply to passengers of different ages - from 2 years old and more. If the passenger is not provided with an additional seat, only free transportation of things within the dimensions and weight discussed above is allowed.

It should be noted that the norms of free transportation do not apply to animals, personal belongings of the passenger, carry-on luggage (up to 10 kg), as well as heavy cargo (from 32 kg).

Extra weight surcharge

If the baggage carried by North Wind airlines exceeds the normalized values (mentioned above), you will have to make a payment taking into account current tariff:

  • If the number of seats is exceeded (with a weight of up to 32 kg and a size of 2.03 meters), the amount of payment can be 2,000 rubles (for domestic) and 35 euros (for international flights). If the third place is bought - 6000 rubles.
  • In case of excess weight, the amount of the surcharge can range from 2 to 6 thousand rubles.
  • If the size is not respected (dimensions are more than 2.03 m), you will have to pay 6 thousand rubles.

Individual surcharges are established for firearms and animals. In the first case, the weight should be up to 10 kg, and the payment will be 6 thousand rubles, and in the second, the mass should not exceed 8 kg. In this case, the surcharge is equal to 2 thousand rubles. When making an international flight with North Wind Airlines, baggage allowance rules may differ. Before departure, the passenger must present all things for weighing (except for personal baggage). The airline has the right to refuse to go for refusal if the established norms are not observed.

Rules for the carriage of baggage in the airline North Wind

In order to avoid unpleasant situations during the check-in and boarding process, it is important to take a responsible approach to studying the carrier's requirements. Below are the main rules for the carriage of baggage in the airline Nordic wind:

At the same time, the weight of the baggage should not exceed 80 kg, and the dimensions should not exceed the size passenger seat... It is not required to register the cargo that is transported in a separate place - the passenger is responsible for it. Personal belongings of the passenger, namely a camera, mobile phone, cane, umbrella, folder for papers, suit and others, are not considered as carry-on baggage. North Wind Airlines allows special baggage such as a wheelchair or cane stroller.

From those used by other carriers. Weight restrictions per segment are similar - up to 23 kg, but dimensions - no more than 158 cm in 3 dimensions. At the same time, Economy class coupons give the right to take on board personal items, backpacks up to 10 kg and one compartment in a special compartment, and for Economy Premium, Comfort and Business classes, register two seats, each up to 23 kg.

Having a need to transport a substantial amount of things, you should think in advance about the most profitable flight options. Payment in excess of the norm, as a rule, results in a substantial amount. Inside the country, for an overweight of up to ten kilograms, you will have to add 2500, and if more, then 5000. For exceeding the dimensions: from 158 to 203 cm - 5000 rubles. and more than 203 cm - 7500. The third and subsequent segments per passenger will cost 7500 rubles. each. On international transportation, price tags are already indicated in dollars and euros, they amount to more impressive amounts, but not less than 100 conventional units.

  • What is allowed free of charge? When traveling with a child, it is convenient to take a stroller, a cradle, a car seat with you. Almost everything allows you to transport sports equipment without payment (snowboards, bicycles, skis, surfboards, fishing tackle, etc.).
  • For a toddler up to 2 years old, for whom a separate seat is not provided, you can bring luggage on board and luggage up to 10 kg.
  • According to the new rules air transportation Many personal items that previously could have been carried separately for free are now included in carry-on baggage. Accordingly, their weight is taken into account. This applies, for example, to umbrellas, phones, laptops, documents in a folder. This is something to keep in mind. Even if today an employee of one company closed his eyes to the camera hanging on your chest, this does not mean that tomorrow you will not be asked to weigh it along with other things.

In any case, in order not to get into an awkward or unpleasant situation, be sure to first clarify the rules of transportation of the company whose services you decided to use before you find yourself at the airport.

Several life hacks for novice travelers regarding the transportation of things inside the passenger compartments of low-cost airlines.

Preparing for air travel When choosing a destination, you should take into account your needs and requirements of the carrier in advance. Often more expensive tickets, if you need to take heavy bulky items on the road, save your finances. On individual flights, directions, general conditions may change even within the framework of the operation of a particular carrier.

Nordwind Airlines now have baggage-free fares without any prior notice. Now what does a passenger who is going to fly with this airline need to know?

Nordwind Airlines' Bagless Fares are already on sale for flights departing from October 29, 2017. Taking advantage of the FAP, the airline radically cut free baggage and carry-on baggage allowances. The carrier will completely deprive its passengers of baggage for parts of the economy class fares and will reduce the carry-on baggage allowance to 5 kilograms for all economy class passengers.

Formally, the solution offered by Nordwind Airlines is very similar to the fare system of S7 Airlines. There are two types of fares available in Economy and Business Class: Promo and Optimum. However, the norms are very different from those adopted by S7 Airlines.

The Economy Promo no-baggage fare allows you to take on board only one piece of hand luggage weighing no more than 5 kilograms and dimensions no more than 115 centimeters in the sum of three dimensions. Tickets for this fare cannot be returned, but can be exchanged with an additional payment of 3,000 rubles or 60 euros (before departure) to 6,000 rubles or 95 euros (after departure). Adding checked baggage will cost 2,000 rubles.

It is likely that such a tiny amount of carry-on luggage will not suit most passengers, and to transport their belongings they will have to resort to the list of absolutely free items agreed by the FAP, which, as you know, includes a handbag or a briefcase with their contents. Their weight is not included in the calculation. It is not known whether Nordwind Airlines will control the weight of hand luggage when boarding a flight, but the carrier will surely check it at check-in.

At the same time, the airline almost does not warn passengers about abrupt changes in its rules. The only indication to them during the booking process is an inconspicuous link “fare conditions” in small print under the price of the selected ticket. The link opens a list of rules of hundreds of lines of compact service text of the booking system, which an ordinary passenger is unlikely to cope with - like “ Rate: OPROW. Flight: N4-173 to adult passenger* MOV-N4-EKB * Abbreviated text of UTPApplies to tariffs with a base tariff code‘OPROW’ applied as OW (one-way, unidirectional).Tariff type‘S’-special”- etc.

The carrier also did not publish any news or press releases about such drastic changes in the rules. Many passengers are likely to be caught off guard at check-in desks.

Moreover, it is not even formally known from what date Nordwind Airlines began selling tickets under these new rules. It is possible that such a date is October 16 - on this day the company sent out a notification about new tariffs to its agents. Logically, passengers who bought tickets earlier than October 16 can use the old rules and regulations with 10 kilograms of carry-on luggage and 10 kilograms of checked-in luggage - plus a briefcase or handbag. Just in case, it is better to have the itinerary receipt at hand during check-in and boarding, this will help avoid misunderstandings.

The Economy Optimum tariff makes it possible to take 1 piece of hand luggage, again weighing up to 5 kilograms, for free and check in 1 piece weighing up to 20 kilograms in luggage. Such a ticket can be returned before departure with a fine of 1,500 rubles or 30 euros, or after departure with a penalty of 5,000 rubles or 80 euros. It can also be exchanged - no penalty before departure and with a penalty of 5,000 or 80 euros after departure.

At the Business Promo rate, there are two pieces of hand luggage, 5 kilograms each, and one piece of baggage weighing up to 20 kilograms. A ticket for this fare is non-refundable; it can be exchanged for 5,000 rubles or 80 euros before departure and 7,000 rubles or 110 euros after departure. The Business Optimum tariff allows you to check in two pieces of baggage weighing up to 20 kilograms each, the carry-on baggage allowance is similar to the Promo tariff. Ticket exchange before departure is possible without collection, afterwards for 5000 rubles or 80 euros. Returning the ticket at any time is possible without penalty.

You can find completely new tariffs.

Buyers of inexpensive tickets will be a big loser from the new fare system, because before they could not only check in free baggage and use a decent carry-on baggage allowance, but also expect a smaller fine (up to 1,500 rubles for Promo and Standard fares) when exchanging a ticket.

No reduction in tariffs themselves, which could compensate for these losses, has not yet been found. Thus, Nordwind Airlines passengers became, along with, one of the first to feel the consequences of the appearance new version FAP.
