Comments from our managers

The refined hotel consists of a central building and three two-storey buildings. Beautiful natural scenery. The well-appointed rooms and suites are decorated with wood beams and stone details. Free parking is available on site. Own ethnographic museum. Suitable for comfortable family and youth recreation.

Very good hotel... Beautiful green area... Nice rooms. The hotel is located on a hill - you have to go down to the beach! Across the road from the sea. There is an underground passage. The beach is sandy and pebble. Very! narrow strip of beach !!! Quiet, secluded peaceful place.

Location

Peninsula of Sithonia, Elya coast, 11 km from Neos Marmaras, 9 km from Nikiti, 97 km from the airport "Macedonia" of Thessaloniki.

Beach

private beach 50 meters across a country road (underground passage), a narrow lane sandy beach... Sun beds and umbrellas - free of charge, towels - bail (pay for loss).

Dogo chose the route for our vacation in July 2002. Finally, we settled on Greece and did not regret it at all. But I'll start in order. We must pay tribute to the firm "DGR-Delfi" (metro Ordynka 13a) and express special gratitude to the manager of Anastasia Rybakova for her competent work and reliable information about the country, the resort and hotels in particular. We traveled with a company of 4 people and therefore, you understand, due to various circumstances, we delayed the submission of documents (and this is ...

My husband and I rested there from 25.07.06 to 05.08.06 Excellent hotel! Green, big, with original style! I can immediately warn you that there is little entertainment, but if someone wants to take a break from a large crowd of people, then this is the place for you. Pine forest and immediately the sea - just amazing !!! There are Russian-speaking girls at the reception, and several waiters also speak Russian in restaurants. The food is varied, fresh and delicious. Fruits, however, are greenish ... But meat dishes ... phew, you'll eat your fingers ...

I flew to Greece with my mom and dad (07.24.2003 - 08.07.2003). The firm works great! We have been traveling with her for 3 years and nothing strange has happened! The road was good. On the way to the hotel, they talked interestingly about Greece. Arrival - not very good (transfer from bus to minibus and even in the heat ...). The accommodation is superb! The sea is not bad, clean, only there is no toilet on the beach. Excursions are interesting, only some are "hot", for example, to Meteora and even distant ones. And some don't. Illumination is everywhere and beautiful ...

14/09 / 03-28 / 09/03 GREECE. Very beautiful country. A must visit. The only thing that can hinder or, on the contrary, stimulate - the Olympic Games in 2004. Greece is an agrarian country. Therefore, there are olive groves everywhere (olive harvesting begins in early October) and vineyards. In addition, there are few greenery / trees, with the exception of the Halkidiki peninsula, which led to our choice. There are many pine trees in Halkidiki. WEATHER. The weather during this period can be different, you can't guess. Or the Velvet season, or rains ....

We rested from 04.08.03 to 17.08.03. The rating of the travel agency is 5 - only for our departure from the Vnukovo airport. When buying a tour asked to provide a departure from the "Domodedovo". As a result, when the documents were taken away, they explained to us that the flight from Domodedovo was 2 hours earlier and we would have to wait for everyone else in Soloniki, so we agreed. We met well, but the funniest thing is that we were driving separately from everyone else in a car (rather, we flew at a speed of 140 km / h and sometimes touched the ground), because the hotel is located on the second finger of Halkid ...

Athena Pallas Village is a hotel in Sithonia very suitable for car travelers.

Hello everyone! As I promised in, I begin my stories about a trip to Greece. Today it will be a review of the Athena Pallas Village hotel, or Athena Pallas, it's easier.

Looking ahead, I will say, despite some shortcomings, I will write about them below, we really liked the hotel and if we went to this part of Greece again, it would be Pallas Athena again!

Why Sithonia?

The Khalkhidiki Peninsula is a mainland that ends with three finger-peninsulas - Kassandra, Sithonia and Athos.

Sithonia is the middle and greenest finger of the Chalhidiki Peninsula. This is what played a decisive role in the choice of the location. Because, after the green Croatia with pine trees on the beaches, like in Brela, I was afraid that in Greece I would lack greenery and, consequently, shade.

Compared to the densely populated Kassandra with a huge number of hotels, there are much fewer hotels in Sithonia and they say the construction of new hotels is prohibited.

Later, having traveled all over Sithonia by car, we found out that there are, in fact, not so few hotels. There are many small hotels, apartments and rooms for rent. In general, there is plenty to choose from.

The largest hotel in Sithonia is Porto Carras, we also visited it, I will tell you about it separately, it is practically a separate city! I think that there are lovers of such places and it will be interesting for them.

Why did we choose Athena Pallas Village?

As usual, we chose the hotel based on reviews and photographs of tourists on various sites. Thanks to everyone who shares their personal experience! All hotels are good on travel agency websites, but people share first-hand information and, as a rule, honestly tell what they have encountered, which is very important. I hope that my review of the hotel will also be useful to someone.

It is not for nothing that Athena Pallas contains the word “village” in the name, which means village. The hotel is stylized as a Greek village. This can be traced partly in buildings, in decorative elements, there are barrels somewhere, a cart stood near our building, there are huge vases of the Greek amphora type throughout the territory, with flowers, even the same vases are adapted for garbage.

There are two chapels on the territory of the hotel, where believers can sit in silence and pray, light a candle, while putting down money at their discretion, no one checks.

The hotel even has its own museum, which displays exhibits that tell about the life and life of the Greeks, from antiquity to the middle of the last century.

Hotel structureAthenaPallasVillage

We really liked that the hotel is not one or two multi-storey buildings, as is usually the case, but its 1-3-storey buildings are scattered across the territory in the form of a village. Each zone contains rooms of basically the same category.

If you face the main entrance and reception, then on the left there will be a three-storey building with Superior rooms, then the Doxato restaurant, where all customers eat, and even to the left is the Armonia complex with suites.

Buildings with standard rooms are located to the right of the main entrance. Was not inside, but from the outside these cases look very cozy.

All hotel guests can use all the pools, but the loungers in the VIP zone can only be used by guests of this category, where the sun loungers are assigned to the rooms.

There are several car parks on site. We were not in the high season, so there were enough parking spaces, but it seems to me that during the peak season, in July-August, there may be problems with parking. Although, in this case, it seems to me, cars can be parked in front of the hotel, since the road is not going through there, there is little transport and it is quite possible to park cars along the road.

Hotel locationAthenaPallasVillage and do I need to take a car

I mentioned parking lots for a reason. The fact is that the hotel is located in a place called Elia, between the settlement of Nikiti and the town of Neos Marmaras, and there is no settlement nearby.

The hotel, of course, has everything you need for a relaxing break, and if you are a follower beach holiday, the pools and the sea are all you need, you don't need a car. And if you need to buy something, then there is a mini-market on the territory of the hotel, where you can buy souvenirs, hygiene products, water, etc. More expensive, of course, than in the town, but everything you need is there.

We love to travel and explore the surroundings, and it's just convenient when you are independent of city transport, excursions or even bad weather. You take a car and go to a nearby beach, if you don't like it, to Neos Marmaras for souvenirs or to Soloniki for shopping, finally!

Hotel Athena Pallas is ideally located for just this type of vacation, in my opinion. And many vacationers do just that. We practically did not have empty parking spaces.

And despite the fact that there are many people in the hotel, there is no feeling of overcrowding. Someone leaves right after breakfast, someone lies by the pool, someone goes to the beach. Nobody bothers anyone. I liked it very much!

We were not very lucky with the weather at first. It had rained before our arrival, and it was quite cool, and then it started to chill again. We already planned to take the car, but we wanted to look around at the beginning, but bad weather accelerated this process.

I didn’t want to stay in the hotel, and then there’s a promotion for small cars from a local representative of the Drive company, you take a car for three days for 100 Euro. We took for 10 days for 300 Euro, plus full insurance - 7 Euro per day. Total 370 Euro for 10 days, plus gasoline, which turned out to be very economical!

Yes, the car was brand new Nissan Micra. We wanted to take the Opel Corsa, but they are already over. We took the car on June 2, and it was the last day of the action, we were lucky!

Rooms at the Athena Pallas hotel

We have experienced two categories of rooms, and I can write about them. Initially, we booked a Superior room, as the child is already large enough and a standard room, when the three of us could sleep on a large bed, is no longer available to us.

Therefore, already upon booking, we are immediately offered the Superior room, where the room is larger than in standard room and there is an additional sofa, which in the photo looks small, but in fact, quite a decent and adult sleeping place.

The building with numbers of this category is located, as I already wrote, between the building with the reception and the restaurant. We got a room on the first floor, with a balcony overlooking the lawn and overlooking the restaurant windows.

Of course, we wanted to see the sea from the balcony! But in our building the sea could only be seen from the rooms on the third floor. And although we arrived on May 31, there were no vacant rooms even on the second floor. Therefore, we had no choice but to admire the restaurant.

For that we had a nest of swallows right on the balcony, however, so far without chicks, so there was no particular noise from them. I would like to mark this as a feature, there are swallow nests in all buildings and there are a lot of them!

When we got to the Armonia building, which has its own swimming pool, we decided to find out if there were any vacant rooms. At our request, we were shown free rooms both on the first floor and on the second.

Rooms on the ground floor open onto the pool with balconies, which is not very convenient, on the one hand, if you want to sit on the balcony, and two steps away are people on sun loungers or children are running around the pool. But for families with small children, it seems to me just wonderful! Children can play right next to the room, it is also convenient to watch them when they swim in the pool.

But the sea was already visible from the room on the second floor, and that decided everything! In addition, the child is already large enough to allow him to swim alone, occasionally glancing at him from the balcony. Very comfortably!

There is a large corner sofa in the living room, it is comfortable to sleep and sit. These rooms have two TVs and air conditioning. A normal safe with a combination lock and a human hair dryer, not a standard hotel one, which is a pipe with a nozzle. Bathrobes, slippers, in general, the whole set.

At our request, they gave a kettle, they cleaned perfectly, the bed and towels were changed every day, as it should be in a five-star hotel.

The staff is very friendly, polite, there are Russian-speaking people, many speak English, there were no problems with communication. In the main bar, almost all the bartenders spoke Russian, many waiters in bars and restaurants, students from different countries who came under the work & travel program.

Meals in the restaurantDoxato

In the early days, as always, it seemed that the food is very diverse, you can always choose something to your liking. However, after a few days, the same breakfasts are already beginning to get boring. Besides the traditional fried eggs, scrambled eggs and sausages, there was a selection of yoghurts with and without fruit, a small selection of cheeses, rolls and croissants, jams, in general, a regular continental breakfast. If anyone is interested, there is no porridge.

For lunch, I always tried to take soup, but it was not always there. Large selection of salads and vegetables, delicious sauces for salads.

The most interesting were the dinners. Although, in my opinion, there were few fish dishes, the fish was grilled only once every two weeks, a couple of times there were mussels and once fried anchovies, and I was hoping to come off with fish dishes, but it didn't work out.

But you could always find something tasty! So, if you do not find fault, then everything is fine. Although there were weathered salads and croissants are not the freshest. (I couldn't help but add a fly in the ointment ... 🙂

Hotel beachAthenaPallasVillage

In hotel reviews, I met a lot of criticism about the beach. Which is not very well equipped and very narrow. This is true. It is not equipped because there are no changing cabins or a toilet. The nearest toilet is at the reception, and you can change in the room.

But the fact that the beach is narrow, personally did not upset me at all. I hate beaches with rows of sun loungers. And if, when leaving the ladder, turn to the right, then there the beach is a little wider and the place in the morning can be chosen so that there is a shadow from the pines and sunny skylights and you can take a sun lounger yourself or ask the boy to bring it, but for money, 2 Euros for a whole day.

The right side of the beach is "not equipped"

Another feature that confused me in the reviews is that you can go to the beach only by crossing the road or through an underground passage. The first is somehow uncomfortable and the second is not romantic, right?

In fact, everything turned out to be not so scary! The road is not passing through, it is used only to drive up to the hotel, and the crossing is clean and tidy, and the view from it is wonderful, see for yourself.

In general, everything suited me. Another thing is that the water was cool for me personally. Well, bad luck with the weather, what can you do ?!

Entertainment, animation in the hotel

I have nothing special to write about animation, once there was water aerobics in the pool, we did not see any more animation, apparently, it was not the season yet, and we were not interested in that, to be honest.

Once a week, on Fridays, dinner was held not in an ordinary restaurant, but in an open tavern, it was the so-called "Greek dinner". At the entrance, all guests are greeted by a couple of dancers in national costumes and are photographed with everyone. Then, during the dinner, a lady walks between the tables and invites guests to buy photos for 5 Euros. Unobtrusively so ...

Due to the fact that there is little space in the tavern, there is a crowd during this festive dinner. I recommend not being late for dinner on Friday, so that you can take a good table, order drinks, and not stand in line for dishes.

Other entertainment options at the hotel include mini golf, bowling, and tennis rackets at the bar. There is an indoor pool, in which children for some reason could only swim from 10:00 to 12:00! There are also some spa treatments, a hammam, a sauna, which were free on the “all inclusive” system, however, they had to be booked! We didn't use it either.

For that, the child with great pleasure "hunted" for cats, fed them snacks stolen from the restaurant, and even a fish caught with his own hand and took pictures. Isn't it fun?

What did not like about the hotel

Apparently, a mistake during construction, in all rooms there is a problem with a drain. You use the shower, and a fantan beats out of the drain in the floor or the foam comes out, not very pleasant. We had it in both rooms, and I read in the reviews, people also complained.

But what annoyed us the most was the absolutely flawed all inclusive!

We argued with my husband for a long time even at the booking stage, I thought it was stupid to pay for all inclusive, especially since we were going to take a car and drive, which means that several lunches will definitely be missed.

But Greece is not Turkey! Greek "all-inclusive" turned out to be a profanation! Yes, we were entitled to lunches, as opposed to half board. In all other respects, compared to Turkey or the Emirates, this system has very large limitations.

The bars can only be used from 10:00 or 10:30, I don’t remember exactly, and until 18:00! The only food available in the bar was toast, chips and ice cream.

No alcoholic cocktails, only local ouzo vodka or some kind of cognac that was not cognac, the husband tried once. Even instead of forfeits, they brought my husband some kind of local analogue.

And the sun loungers on the beach were paid, although the tour operator assured us when booking that the all-inclusive system did not need to be paid for sun loungers. This is not true!

So, I was right, and we wasted a decent amount of money for "allinclusive"!

My advice: the best option for this hotel is half board: breakfast - dinner. Moreover, if you, like us, are going to take a car and drive around the neighborhood.

But even if you didn’t go anywhere and stayed at the hotel, you can have a snack in the afternoon in the tavern, where, they say, they cooked decently, however, we didn’t try, worked out our all-inclusive. Yes, I have not yet denied myself the pleasure of drinking wine for dinner.

In general, if you do not take "all inclusive" and close your eyes to the drain in the shower, then we can assume that everything else was very much even liked! Consider the recommendations and I think you will also love the Athena Pallas Village.

Now I reread it, and it seemed to myself that I was grumbling. But if you do not talk about the shortcomings, it will not be true, what do you think?

But I liked the hotel, no matter what! There is a wonderful atmosphere, pleasant interiors, very friendly staff! Yes, he certainly does not pull five stars, but he deserves four. And we are very pleased with the vacation!

Now you know a lot about the Athena Pallas Village hotel. And if I missed something, you can ask or add in the comments.

And if you do not want to use the services of a tour operator and prefer to organize your vacation on your own, then read about our experience when traveling to Hungary, here.

Hello! Had a rest in this hotel with my husband in early June. I would like to say right away that this hotel is not worth going to those who want noisy discos, stormy evenings, etc. Because there is no such strong animation in this hotel.... More ▾ Hello!
Had a rest in this hotel with my husband in early June. I would like to say right away that this hotel is not worth going to those who want noisy discos, stormy evenings, etc. Because there is no such strong animation in this hotel. But my husband and I were not at all upset, rather, on the contrary, pleased. We were looking for a quiet, cozy hotel without crazy parties in the evenings.
Now, in order about the hotel itself.
Check-in. We arrived at the hotel at 11 o'clock in the morning, waited half an hour and were given the keys to our room. The room pleased us, we booked a room in the Armonia complex. A wonderful place, from the window you could see the sea, and when you left the building there was a pool. Sometimes, however, they got tired of noisy children who constantly swam in this pool.
Nutrition. We were fed deliciously, a lot of different dishes. Thanks to the chef for this! We had an all-inclusive system, which greatly facilitated our stay. We didn’t have to constantly think “how much have we already spent on drinks”. But if you do not want to take an all-inclusive ticket, then you will not be hungry anyway. On the territory of the hotel there is a tavern, outside the territory there is a tavern in which the food is very tasty. And of course, in the village of Neos Marmaras there are many taverns for every taste.
Entertainment. As I wrote above, animation program practically absent, only on Fridays there is a mini Greek evening. Therefore, sometimes in the evenings we went to the village of Neos Marmaras and sat in a tavern on the seashore. Romance and more! Regarding this village, it is located 11 km from the hotel. We rented a car and drove it. But you can also get there by bus that runs from the hotel. But my advice to you is, take your license with you and rent a car. Sithonia, so amazing beautiful island that it must be examined. Very beautiful nature, wonderful beaches with crystal clear water.
Excursions. We flew to this hotel with the Mouzenidis company. I would also like to separately say thank you to them for the warm welcome at the airport and at the hotel. My husband and I had enough time to rest, and therefore we decided to see with him the main attractions of Greece - Athens and Meteora. There are very comfortable ride for 2 days, which includes these symbols of Greece. Of course, we spent a lot of time on the road, but it's worth it! In Meteora, these stunning rock temples are breathtaking! Indescribable beauty! And of course, Athens, the capital of Greece. First of all, the Acropolis struck us with its beauty and grandeur. The place, which I heard about from school, to see with my own eyes is unforgettable.
Well, at the end of my review, I would like to thank the hotel staff, the lovely and smiling girls at the reception and of course our guides at the hotel, Alexandra and Natasha, who came to our aid even with the most trivial problems. Thanks!

Well, finally, I was going to write a review about my trip to Greece last May.
Well, let's start in order:
1. Country. Honestly, I'm just in love with Greece! Crystal-clear sea, mountainous landscapes, pleasant cool southern sun and benevolent welcoming Greeks !!! I would especially like to note the unobtrusiveness of the male population - Greek men, of course, are hot and do not mind having an affair with a tourist, but decent women only need to hint that she does not want such romance and the Greek will delicately step aside! The Greeks value personal freedom very much and even the barkers in the market will not grab you for different parts of the body and force their product on you, as it would be in Egypt or Turkey!
2. Nature. Everything is super! Mountain air, pine forests, olive groves and the clear Mediterranean Sea - what else do you need?
3. Hotel. Personally, it was boring for me - there was no program, except for 2 Greek evenings in a restaurant in 10 days. Saved by the fact that we went on excursions - to Meteora (I really liked it !!!) and to Thessaloniki (not really, it would be better to go to Olympus). We also went by public transport to the town of Neos Marmaros. There is a small market, nothing special, but there was nothing to choose from ...
The rooms - in my opinion, do not last for 5 *, a bit dark and damp ... in the shower dampness and mold, the doors of the shower stall constantly broke, the water did not drain well, there were interruptions in hot water. Tidied up decently, but not great. Even for a tip. And on cool nights they did not agree to turn on the heater (there was a central heating-air conditioner), supposedly it takes a long time to warm up and this is ineffective! They gave out wet blankets that weren't particularly warm!
The hotel territory is here - CLASS !!! Everything is buried in greenery and flowers! The territory is well ennobled with small fountains, arches with winding vines, various flower beds and elements of everyday life of a Greek village. Also on the large territory of the hotel there is a very beautiful swimming pool, 2 Orthodox chapels, a shop of souvenirs and products (although we bought all this in Neos Marmaros - and cheaper and there is more choice).
Cafes and restaurants - the food we had was breakfasts and dinners, and I must say very decent! Vegetables, fruits, cheeses, several types of meat, fish. Many different salads, different types of sandwiches and snacks, coffee, cocoa, tea, juices - as many as you like. In the evenings, sometimes even local wine was served. Desserts are especially noteworthy - they were just mind eating))) !!! And every day, several species were given!
For lunch, we usually went to a restaurant by the bar - they cook good fish there.
The beach is pebbly and across the road (via an underground passage). Although the road is quite quiet, there is almost no traffic, as this path simply leads from the highway to the hotels. And the pebbles are quite suitable for walking barefoot (especially since this way you get a free and very useful foot massage), but it will not be very pleasant for children to run and jump there.
But the sea is simply excellent - so transparent that 20 meters from the shore you can still see the bottom! But for some reason, sun loungers and umbrellas were paid (((We did not buy them, as we were outraged by such triviality, especially the sun loungers by the pool are completely free!
The hotel staff frightened us with sea hedgehogs, but for 10 days I never met this "beast"))) Anyway, no one saw them there)))
I really didn’t like the service in the SPA complex! A massage of 40 euros for 15 minutes of light strokes is too much. Moreover, the girl who worked there could not be found with fire during the day! And if you find it, then they will try to rip off three skins from you for every little thing !!! They even tried to take money for the dressing gown, they had to take it from the room.
In general, I liked the rest, despite some disadvantages of the hotel. Still, it is very important with what mood you are going to rest, and Greece itself is always very happy !!! Therefore, I strongly advise you to go, the hotel is inexpensive and quite pleasant! Have a good rest!
I hope my review will be useful to you !!!
