Ski resort soldeu. Ski resorts of Andorra

in 2003/2004, several resorts in Andorra merged and created two ski areas. They include several complexes with a single skipass (skipass - electronic pass). The resort of GrandValira in Andorra - the most famous resort of the Pyrenees mountain ranges - is one of such complexes. The second largest resort in Andorra is the resort

The Grandvalira ski resort includes 6 resorts: Encamp, Canillo, El Tarter, Soldeo, Grau Roig, Pas de la Casa).

There are 63 lifts in Grandvalira, and 108 slopes of different difficulty levels are open for skiing.

  • The total length of the tracks in Grandvalira is 100 km
  • Cross-country skiing trails - 12 km
  • Number of lifts - 31
  • Total runs - 55
  • Green trails - 8
  • Blue trails - 11
  • Red slopes - 23
  • Black slopes - 13

And we will tell you about all of them now.

Grandvalira piste map

Encamp

The town of Encapm is located 7 km from the capital of Andorra (Andorra la Vella). Encamp does not have its own ski slopes, so skiing down to the city will not work. But from the town you can get to the top of Collada D'Enradort (2447 m) in just 20 minutes. On the modern Funicamp lift (funicular, 32 cabins for 24 people each).

I have been to this summit more than once. The views are beautiful. Halfway, the cabins stop at the Vall deis Cortals sector, where the beginner's ski school is located. From the top of Collada D'Enradort, you can already safely reach the neighboring slopes of Pas de la Casa - Grau Roig with their blue and red slopes.

Encamp is closest to the capital of Andorra, so you will have a choice: either live in Encamp or in Andorra la Vella. In the capital, of course, there is a little more choice of housing, but in Encamp you can pick up whatever you like. Many skiers prefer to stay here, a 5-minute walk from the ski lift.

Hotels in Encamp area >>

On the territory of Encamp there is a swimming pool, a gymnasium, a dance hall, two tennis courts. For fans of parties and discos, there is an excellent choice of entertainment.

From Encamp, you can get to the neighboring towns by a mini-train that passes through the city and the Funicamp station, and goes on to the Grandvalira ski area. He walks 7 days a week until the end ski season, opening hours, from 8.30 to 18:00.

Inside Encamp, there is a free shuttle bus that takes guests from their hotels to the funicular.

Canillo

The next ski resort is the village of Canillo. This central city parish of the same name (community). It is located in the northeastern part of the country.

A lift goes up from the city. His first stop is Ell Forn. There is a restaurant, a ski school and Kindergarten, where you can leave your child while you ride).

Lifting tug

The next point is the Pic de la Porteya (Portella, 2465 m). One black (steep slopes for experienced) and two blue tracks (medium difficulty) start from it.

Then a stop where the black trails begin. This is the peak of Encampadana pic D'Encampadana (2491 m).

From Encampadana you can take a lift to the Tossal de la Lossada slope. These are the picturesque slopes of Soldeo and El Tarter.

Canillo has a wide range of accommodations, branded sports equipment shops, bars and restaurants.

Hotels in Canillo area >>

To get to Canilno, take the bus that runs every day from 7.00 to 22.00 from the capital of Andorra la Vella to Soldeu. The ticket will cost € 3. By car, the journey will take about 20 minutes.

For the owners of the Grandvalira ski pass, there is a free ride on the skibus, which takes tourists to Canillo from Andorra la Vella and Pas de la Casa every 20 minutes.

Soldeo-El Tarter

After Canillo there are two small villages 3 km from each other - Soldeo and El Trat. They are connected by a common network of lifts. Thanks to this, the slopes of Andorra and the tracks merged into one large space.

This resort is best suited for entry to intermediate skiers. It is famous for its beginner ski schools and snowboard school.

For beginners, the Espiolets slope with wide, gentle slopes with rollouts on the plateau is suitable. There is a freestyle park on their slopes, a half-pipe is made for snowboarders, there is a track for the smallest Bababoom Circus.

For adrenaline seekers, there are black trails with virgin snow and icy steep slopes.

I saw how small children 5-6 years old were engaged in a school for skiers. They walked down the mountain in a way I've never done. This is what it means to accustom you to a risky sport from childhood. The kids were not at all afraid of the track.

  • In total at the resort:
  • Number of slopes - 52
  • Total length of tracks - 92 km
  • Green (for beginners) - 10
  • Blue (for intermediate level) - 19
  • Red (hard) - 13
  • Black (high difficulty) - 10
  • Snowboard, slalom, freestyle and flat ski trails - 2 km

In Soldeu there is a specialized shop for skiers and snowboarders - Esports Calbo (next to the gondola lift). There is a large selection of clothes, equipment and gifts.

In the summer, Soldeo turns into favorite place recreation for golfers and lovers of trekking, cycling and hiking.

El Tarter is suitable for families with children and couples who prefer a quiet type of holiday. There is a kindergarten, a wellness center and a bowling alley at the Nordic hotel.

Here you can go ice skating, dog sledding or go explore the bars of Soldeu, which are almost non-existent in El Tarter.

There are no problems with housing in the villages of Soldeo and El Tarter. There are good quality hotels with a wide range of services, and there are budget hotels, guesthouses and B & Bs.

Hotels on the territory of Soldeo - El Trat >>

There is a regular bus from Andorra la Vella to Soldeo El Tarter every hour, the fare is about 3 EUR.

By car from the capital, take the CG1 road towards Soldeo, Pas de la Casa and France. National bus routes pass through Soldeo, continuing on to Pas de la Casa and to the French border. Unfortunately, there are no taxis in Soldeo, the nearest service is in the capital.

Pas de la Casa-Grau Roig

The last two resorts in Grandvalira - Pas de la Casa and Grau Rouge - are the most alpine resorts in the Pyrenees. They, like Soldeo El Trat, are combined into one zone, which consists of two valleys. The resort offers tourists a huge variety of ski slopes.

In the upper part of the Pas de la Casa valley, the slopes are designed for experienced skiers. Descending lower, the slopes become flatter and are intended for intermediate skiers. At the bottom of the Pas de la Casa slopes, there is a slalom track and a night ski track.

For lovers of skiing in the woodlands, there are trails in the Grau Roig valley. Downhill fans will find a large selection of rolling and wide runs in the Grau Roig Valley 2 and 3 region. Thanks to the well-thought-out trails, high-speed skiing is not dangerous.

A Half-Pipe zone (40 m) has been made for snowboarders. For beginner snowboarders, there are group lessons.

At an altitude of 2,600 meters, there is the Coll Blanc restaurant with panoramic windows. It offers stunning views of the French and Andorran Pyrenees.

The village of Pas de la Casa is always busy, noisy and fun. There are a lot of shops for winter clothes, sports equipment. Large selection of restaurants, bars, discos. There are kindergartens for families with children. Professionals will look after your child while you ride. In addition, there are centers for aerobics, martial arts, dance halls, swimming pools, tennis courts, mini-football. In the center of the city, an ice rink is flooded on the square.

In Pas de la Casa there are more than 50 hotels of various stars and services. It is difficult to find a vacant room during the hot seasons. Therefore, consider booking in advance.

Hotels on the territory of Pas de la Casa - Grau Rouge >>

The only disadvantage of the Pas de la Casa resort - Grau Rouge - is its remoteness from the center of civilization. This is the farthest resort in Andorra and it takes longer to get to it than to all other resorts in Andorra. But in 2002, a tunnel was built from Pas de la Casa to Pau Groig, which significantly improved and accelerated communication between the Pas de la Casa and Soldeu ski areas.

Although Andorra is a country of more than modest size, there are plenty of opportunities for recreation and entertainment. There are interesting sights in almost every settlement of the country, but its main pearl is the ski resorts. All of them are located in two ski areas called Grandvalira and Vallnord. Grandvalira

In this ski area there are ski large resorts Pas de la Casa and Soldeu, as well as four smaller ones (Encamp, Grau Roig, El Tarter and Canillo). The total area occupied by the resorts is almost 1800 hectares, which makes it the largest in Andorra and one of the largest in Europe. These resorts have been merged with the aim of providing the option to purchase a single ski pass. The total length of slopes of varying difficulty is 190 km, the height difference is about a kilometer. 68 ski lifts bring skiers to the top of the slopes.

In the ski area of Grandvalira there are slopes of varying difficulty, according to the international classification, they are marked with different colors. You should be aware that the steepest slopes are observed at the top of Tossal de Lallosada (2600 m), and the lowest at the foot.

The resort of Pas de la Casa

In this ski resort, most of the tourists are quite spoiled. Located almost on the border with France, the resort is a complex of five dozen trails, most of which are red (23). All of them are equipped with various types of safety lifts. Skiing here is safe for any category of vacationers.

In addition to the great pistes and hotels, there are some very popular restaurants here that are a must-see. We are talking about the steakhouse Gall De Bosc (Soldeu), Roc De Les Bruixes (Canillo), Llac De Pessons (Grau Roig) and of course El Raco Del Park. There are also several interesting sights that can diversify the time.

Resort Soldeu - El Tarter

Soldeu ski resort rightfully occupies a leading place in the ranking of resorts in Andorra. This is due to the highest level of equipment of the tracks. The name of the resort is due to the two villages that actually form it. In Soldeu skiers of all skill levels can have a good time, and in El Tarter families with children.

The resort's pistes are mostly intended for beginner and intermediate skiers (green and blue slopes). There is also a special track for toddlers.

The scheme of the slopes of the resort Soldeu - El Tarter

On the territory of this resort, you can both rent and purchase a variety of ski equipment. The main stores with such products are Esports Calbo, Esports Calbo, Pic Negre and Loaded.

In the Ordino-Arcalis sector there are 26 slopes with a vertical drop of about 600 meters, and in Pal-Arinsa - 63 with a drop of about a kilometer.

Andorra has two major ski resorts: Vallnord and Grandvalira. Vallnord offers over 90 km of ski slopes, in Grandvalira there are over 200 kilometers of ski slopes. This makes Andorra the largest ski region Pyrenees. This is where we spent most of our time. ski holiday.

You can climb the mountains from different places, but mostly tourists use the Funicamp cable car. It connects Encamp, a 10-minute drive from the principality's capital, with the upper slopes of the ski areas. "Funicamp" is closer to the other ski lifts to the city center.

Cable car The 6 kilometers long "Funicamp" is considered one of the longest in Europe. It includes 32 cabins, each of which can accommodate up to 24 people. Ascending from the booth, there are wonderful views of the wilderness of the Pyrenees mountains. Rise on the trailer for about 25 minutes.

But do not think that after each descent you will have to waste time on the ascent again. On the "Funicamp" ascend once a day, from here begins the ski area. All tracks are shown in the diagram (Click to full size):

The main difference between this resort and the ski slopes of Russia (I compare it with the Elbrus region) is the complete absence of queues. The maximum time you stand in line is 5-10 minutes. The bandwidth is very large. The tracks are wide enough, and in Pas de La Casa - the width is no less than a football field.

There are a lot of different buildings. For example, snow igloos:

Such a situation inside. You can sit on skins, drink hot tea or mulled wine:

There is even an ice hotel where you can sleep. Everything there is made of ice. And beds and tables and stacks. People sleep on skins in sleeping bags. But the pleasure is not cheap.

There are a lot of lifts and they are different. There are chairlifts for 4 people:

Here are the booths for 8 people:

For convenience, during lifting, skis and boards are located outside the booth:

The setting near the mountain cafe:

Don't confuse your equipment:

Some wear cool costumes. Tiger, bee and ladybug:

Andorra is considered a very comfortable ski resort with slopes for every taste and color. Therefore, here you can meet many children learning to ski.

Special snowpark with trampolines for snowboarders:

Everything was fine except for the weather. The famous "sunny" Andorra passed us by. There were, of course, sunny days, but in most cases I had to ride like this:

And like this:

On the first day, some tracks were closed earlier due to bad weather:

Frozen lake:

Somehow they found a blue sky to take a photo:

View of the hotels at the foot of the mountain:

Transfer station:

At each such station there is a route map:

In general, the navigation of the tracks is at the highest level. Everything is signed. It is impossible to get lost:

Snow cannons are located almost along all the tracks.

They hardly worked with us - there was a lot of snow and without their work:

One of the non-gloomy days. Morning, there are few people on the lifts, the sun is just rising.

The trails are well laid out:

It's time to take a selfie:
