Conclusion

Montenegro - amazing country with numerous natural resources, with interesting stories and culture. Many who go on vacation here ask themselves the question: “Montenegro, what can you see? So, there is everything that even the most sophisticated tourist needs: from unique natural monuments to original architectural structures.

Having visited this truly fabulous country, you will receive a lot of unforgettable positive impressions and a charge of vital energy. And as Lord Byron once said, Montenegro is the most beautiful contact of land with the sea! And one really cannot but agree with his dictum, since the country of Montenegro really admires and gives smiles!

I have the TOP of the most beautiful and unusual places in Montenegro changes from year to year. I immerse myself in the country more and more and fall in love like a first-grader girl. And these are not popular sights of Montenegro, on the contrary, they should have silence, picturesque pictures, authenticity in architecture, unspoiled mass tourism local residents. In summer, I advise everyone to escape for a couple of days from the noisy coast to the mountains, explore the trails, old settlements, mountain lakes ...

You can list the wild beauties of Montenegro for a long time ... but I will tell you about the most beautiful places for me personally, here my soul rests, and my eyes rejoice in beauty 🏝🏡🌄🌅

1. Mountains Komovi

These mountains are sheltered from the city and tourist bustle, Komovi does not sell a single travel agency on the embankment of Budva or Herceg Novi, and this is great! And the mountains are a special world where you are finally left alone, you begin to hear yourself and your secret desires, calm down the nervous system, let go of the problems accumulated during the working week. And only then do you begin to notice the beauty around, and nature fills you with positive energy.

in Montenegro they became a discovery for me last year, and if I had a couple of days off again, I would not hesitate to go to these 3 peaks, which are not inferior in beauty to the mountains of Durmitor or Prokletije. Total 170 km from Budva, and you feel the aroma of mountain herbs, hear the whistle of the wind, the murmur of streams, the singing of birds ... Near the Treshnevik mountain pass you will come across several places where you can rent a house or put up a tent nearby, I advise (their tel. +38267380532) or on the mountain pass, and if you are with a jeep, then stop at the very foot of the mountains in Katun martinovica

2. The Prokletije mountains and the Grebae valley

Another wild place in Montenegro, where civilization has recently reached. The Prokletije mountains were proclaimed a national park only in 2009, without receiving any promotion, funds, or popularity among mass tourists because of this. The place still remains semi-wild, interesting for lovers of trekking, nature, relaxation. Among the overhanging formidable rocks of Prokletije, there are several valleys where rams and cows graze; unpretentious eco-katuns and restaurants were erected right there. For example, on Booking you will find beautiful bungalows for 4 people, ask with a wood-burning stove

From Montenegro, I advise you to go to the Grebae Valley through Albania ( on the map), the new transit road will conquer you with a beautiful canyon, picturesque serpentines, the Tsievna mountain river and hospitable Albanians, be sure to pause at village Tamare for a cup of coffee / beer. For Russians and Belarusians from April 1 to October 31, 2019, for Ukrainians and Kazakhs - all year round. And in the photo below - the peak of the Volushnitsa peak, where we went for trekking last August ()

3. Village Settle on Lake Skadar

In the past centuries, a village in the bays of Lake Skadar Poseljani was a rich place, nature endowed it with a powerful waterfall, which helped to grind wheat and corn into flour for a huge land! The millstones of 14 mills were turning here, because of which Montenegrins from all over the area arrived on donkeys or boats on the lake. A century ago, kafans, shops and even a kind of casino worked here. Nowadays none of this is even more important. The 1979 earthquake also changed the waterfall, and the Montenegrins no longer needed to live that primitive life with the built factories in Podgorica and tourism in Budva.

Again, tourism was not affected Settle because of an unimportant road ... The bus will not pass, only a passenger car. Local residents, of whom there are only a few, built at their own expense an asphalt road from the highway to the village, but closed it to the barrier. At the same time, tourists are waiting 🙂 The vicious circle can be broken by leaving the car on the upper highway near the cypress trees and walking 15 minutes to the waterfall. I advise you to take a swimsuit and cool off in the cold water in hot summer.

I love settling for a real picture of a Montenegrin village, you can close your eyes and imagine donkeys on this bridge with sacks of flour. Or women at the waterfall doing the laundry. But alas, everything is in the past

4. Mountain pass Saddle in the Durmitor National Park

50 km connects the regional cities, but you will go 1.5 - 2 hours because of the winding serpentines, sheep and cows blocking your path. This road is among the most high peaks National Park Durmitor, and will leave an indelible impression on your memory!

It is impossible for huge buses to pass along the winding road, therefore the usual excursion "Canyons" does not include trips ...

  • (not a convertible), if you are confident in your abilities, it is better to spend the night in Zabljak to enjoy the mountains -.
  • Buy a tour of the "Grand Canyons", they carry on a minibus
  • I can advise a good driver guide who takes Big circle along Durmitor and the River Canyons, the cost of such an excursion is 200-250 euros, depending on the season, places in the car.

5. Panorama of Sveti Stefan and Crvena Glavica beach

The island hotel can be admired from different points, but I like the less well-known and hard-to-reach one. Church of Saint Sava... There is an asphalt road there, but in serpentines and gullies. They like to do wedding ceremonies or romantic photo shoots here. But we come for the sake of silence, contemplation on the red roofs of the Budva Riviera and the island in the sea. I especially like it in the spring, late autumn with a bottle of wine and get high with a view of the live wallpaper. Details about this panoramic point -

And one of the favorite places in the Budva Riviera is located below this panorama - the bay with the Crvena Glavica beach 🏜 It is often called Plaza Galija in the summer restaurant. The place is amazing in beauty - red rocks, emerald sea, and in the evenings - wonderful sunsets! And also next to, but in the distance, even in the summer with a cafe and beach equipment there are few vacationers 💦

Among these are my favorites. At the end of May we were alone here, not counting the builders ... The pebbles are medium in size on Galia beach, but I also like to climb the rocks on the right and just admire the sea

6. Beer Lake Canyon

Lake Piva is one of the most beautiful places in Montenegro. I advise you to visit in the morning or afternoon in sunny weather, then it will look like a blue mirror surface. This artificial lake of several branches appeared on the site of the flooded Piva River during Yugoslavia, when a dam was built. You can drive along its canyon if you are going to Scepan Pole for rafting on Tara, or by connecting with a visit to the national one. 7. Bukumir lake in Kuchkie mountains

In Montenegro, there are many mountain lakes of glacial origin, and they are much more interesting and less populated than the accessible and tourist Skadar or Black Lake. In April, I wait for the snow to melt on the road and go to a fairy tale - to Bukumir lake in the Kuchkie mountains. In summer, the picture will not be so picturesque, although trekking will be available due to the more pleasant climate, the routes in the mountains are marked. More about Bukumir Lake and the road to it.

8. Gorlo Sokolovo gorge

13. Canyon of the Mrtvitsa River

if you love wildlife and hiking then go to. Here you can arrange a small hike, without elevation changes, suitable even for children, the walking time is from 1.5 to 5 hours round trip, depending on where ... You will see old bridges, a seething mountain river, a jungle of trees and moss! You can grab your swimsuit to freshen up!

And one more recommendation of what to see nearby - on the way to stop to take pictures on the suspension bridge, if you are with children - visit the petting zoo-shelter in Brezna, and believers will be interested in the Moraca monastery. The list of my favorite non-tourist and most beautiful places in Montenegro does not end there, explore the country not along the highways, often turn off and walk along the marked trails!
