Family vacation in bali. Holidays with children in Bali: I will dispel the fears of many mothers

What are parents afraid of?

First of all, I want to say that there are a lot of prejudices and myths around the topic of resting with a child anywhere, and even more so in Asia. In particular, I recently met such a mom's comment in one of the social networks "Anywhere with a child, just not to Asia! Adults are poisoned, and even children even more so."

They are afraid of mothers, acclimatization, insects and reptiles, poisoning, infections and other things. To this I can only say one thing: if you are afraid of everything, it is better to stay at home. And you will save your nerves, and you will not be afraid. Although, to be honest, you are not protected from anything at home either. A friend of mine broke her leg while in her own apartment. So don't program yourself for the bad, think about the good!

I cannot speak for the whole of Asia, since my child and I have been wintering so far only in Bali and Phangan, but I have learned about the existence of some myths and which I really want to debunk.

Myth number 1

"They don't go to Bali to swim, children can only swim in the pool"

During the first winter, my daughter never swam in the pool. Well, I just did not consider it necessary to bathe a one and a half year old child in chlorinated water when there is a real and live one nearby. We live far enough from the ocean, in the village of Ubud. But half an hour's drive from us is the Sanur district, where there is wonderful beach Sindu beach.

It is very clean and the water is calm as the coast is protected by a coral reef. Children love to swim there! My Hania is afraid of the waves, but she herself boldly goes into the water. I recommend going to the beach at the Inna hotel Grand Hotel, it is quiet there, no one imposes their goods and it is very comfortable.

We also love Karma beachon Bukit. It is not only clean and suitable for families with children, but also incredibly beautiful. Hannah especially appreciated the small pools that formed after low tide. I sat as if in a jacuzzi. Two cons: 1) Go down to it 300 steps🙈 2)It is necessary to take into account the time of the ebb and flow, because at high tide the beach is almost completely submerged.

The Nusa Dua area is beautiful too. The beaches are clean even during the rainy season, when, for example, Canggu and Kuta turn into a pitiful sight due to the abundance of garbage. And the debris brings the changed current. When the rainy season ended, Kuta and Canggu were transformed! So keep this peculiarity in mind.

If you are traveling to Nusa Dua, pay attention to the beachGeger, it is also protected by a coral reef and the water there is very calm, there are no waves.

So there is definitely no need to worry about swimming in the ocean. And if your kids cannot imagine life without splashing in the pool, then at almost any hotel you can negotiate and for a small fee they will let you in at least for the whole day.

Myth number 2

" There is nothing to do in Bali during the rainy season "- say those who know nothing about the rainy season. We arrived a couple of months before the start of the notorious wet season and, frankly, did not notice much difference between dry and wet. The rain gathers, pours, pours out and after half an hour it is good and warm again. . Only once the downpour charged almost 3 days in a row with short breaks. Agree, 3 days of rains at a temperature of +25/27 can survive

Myth number 3

"I will save on insurance ".
It seems that it has become really fashionable to travel with a child without health insurance. ... Better to let the insurance policy remain unused, but you will know that you can count on qualified assistance if necessary. Especially if you are traveling with a child.

Hanyu was hospitalized with rotavirus for three days. Naturally, I was with her. A separate ward, meals à la carte, I am not talking about constant monitoring of my daughter's condition. When we checked out, my neighbor (by the way, a mother of two children) shared her experience. Her daughter contracted rotavirus while in Russia, and they were placed in a common ward, where 5 more patients with various infections lay. As a result, the accompanying adult also caught some kind of infection. So Hania and I were even lucky to transfer rotavirus to Bali.

How and where to choose accommodation?

For families with children, I highly recommend choosing quieter areas. For example, the same

We are followers of Ubud. It is green, fresh, calm in terms of security and the nearest beach is 30 minutes away. Personally, Changu and Kuta seem to me not the most suitable for a family pastime due to the large number of tourists, and, as a result, the abundance of crooks.

However, I know a wonderful couple with a six-month-old toddler who adore Changa, but they did not like our beloved Ubud. Every man to his own taste. It is good that the island is compact enough and if you don't like the selected area, you can easily move to another.

How we looked for a home

We initially knew that we were going for a long time, while still in Russia. The search was very simple: in all social networks, we sent requests to groups in Bali about vacant houses in the area of interest to us and within our budget.

The answers were different. The most frequent ones were like "Are you in your mind to look for housing for such a penny?" Apparently, this is how the agents answered us, who are not at all interested in offering budget options. But we were not upset and continued our search.

As a result, we contacted a girl who was living in Bali at that time (preparing for childbirth), she sent us photos and videos of housing options. She also booked a suitable house, knocking out a good discount from the owner of the house.

Housing prices

The price category for housing in Bali starts from 10,000 per month for a room in a good guesthouse and endlessly. There are houses for every taste and budget. So do not listen to the agents, their interest is understandable: rent at a higher price in order to get a higher commission.

As a result, we rented a separate one-bedroom house on the territory where there are 9 more houses and rooms for rent, and the Balinese family itself also lives. Our nest costs us with unrealistic beautiful view on rice terraces, daily cleaning, good internet, electricity and hot water for 20 thousand rubles. Gas for the kitchen, drinking water and laundry services are paid separately. For the same money, we rented a one-room apartment in Perm with a view of the neighboring house. Feel the difference, as they say.

... Book a hotel for a few days, arrive, grab a bike and drive around or go around the neighborhood asking the local question "House for rent?" So you will see the house with your own eyes, touch it, and even bargain. By the way, bargaining in Bali is not only possible, but also necessary. Usually Russians are perceived here as moneybags, and prices are reported to us greatly inflated. Therefore, bargain all the way. In the end, the desired option will still be found. Not only about housing!

Since I have no experience of living in a hotel with a child, I cannot answer the question of which hotels are considered the best for families with children. I know for sure that many hotels have children's clubs and water parks, babysitting services, so make a start on whether the hotel has such activities. Where there are many children of different ages, there are many opportunities for natural stimulation of development.

How to keep your child busy in Bali?

For me, this issue was resolved by itself. We checked into the house at night, and when in the morning we went out to explore the surroundings, it turned out that the grandchildren of the owner of the house, aged 2-6 years, live on the territory. Hannah was thrilled!

From time to time, more families with children came, and we had an almost international kindergarten;) In addition, we also lived in a place where geese, ducks, cows, many chickens and roosters graze. Hannah looked with interest, fed the animals from her hand. For my daughter, one and a half years of such communication both with other children and with wildlife was enough, in my opinion. We tried to get to the beach two or three times a week. In this big sandbox, the child is always interested.

Bali Zoo and other attractions

We also went to Bali Zoo, which is near Ubud. Someone thinks that he is inferior to the Singapore zoo, but we really liked the Balinese one. I especially liked the area where goats, small kangaroos, deer can be hand-fed! Plus, there is a small children's water park.

Large water parks Waterboom and Greenpark are suitable for older children. They are praised on the forums, but at first it was too early for us to go to such places, and then too lazy, so I have not yet made my opinion about them.

Monkey Forest in Ubud is beautiful and dangerous at the same time. Monkeys run on the ground, climb trees, communicate with each other and completely ignore tourists. Be very careful, because these are quite aggressive animals. But it is worth taking a walk in the forest, it is incredibly beautiful there.

We also, frankly, unknowingly went to Hidden Canyon. It's good that the baby was fastened with a sling backpack. The adventure is very interesting, but extreme: I still don't understand how Hania and I dared to crawl on these boulders and jump from stone to stone. Therefore, I recommend that you leave the child with a nanny and go to this place yourself.

Hannah loves to ride the rides. Fortunately, there are enough of them in Ubud and their prices are low. We love the carousel at the children's hypermarket Clandy "s. Tokens in our money cost 5 rubles each. Sometimes we stop by Macdonald" s, but only at a certain point: if it has a children's slide. My daughter loves to crawl there with other children, while my husband and I calmly drink our coffee.

Also, in many districts of Bali, Russian mothers organize meetings where children have fun playing, and mothers have a pleasant conversation. There are both international and Russian kindergartens.

How are children treated in Bali?

In general, Bali is very fond of children. Hannah is never left unattended wherever we are. She is photographed, hugged, treated to goodies, played with. At first, this was very embarrassing for me, because in Russia we are not used to this. But after the first 6 months of my stay on the island, I am no longer surprised at anything and calmly react to these squeaks and squeals of affection;)

I believe that leaving for the winter in Bali was one of the most correct decisions in my life. In addition to the fact that my husband and I both do not like the cold, and thanks to the wintering we missed the cold, we also witnessed an incredible leap in the development of our daughter. We arrived at 1.1 and Khania walked a little wildly.

In Russia, doctors intimidated me with dysplasia, I was very tense about this. And here she began to walk completely normally, and then run! Communication with foreign children, the sounds of nature and the Indonesian language, a lot of movement in a minimum of clothes, swimming in the ocean - all this will leave a positive imprint on the worldview. And it will certainly be remembered by us, parents.

In general, my husband and I have little idea of how we can leave our Hannah to someone and go on an excursion. Therefore, we carry it everywhere with us. My daughter happily swam in the waterfall, watched the monkeys, explored the rice terraces with us. And the pleasure of these trips increased, looking at these eyes burning with interest.

I am sure that children are happy where their parents are happy. Yes, perhaps we have not yet climbed volcanoes, have not gone to clubs or any festivals, but all this will not go anywhere, it will wait. But the daughter is not: she changes every day and these moments are dear to me.

Do not be afraid to travel with your children, because the world is big and kind!

If you are preparing for a trip to Bali, you have probably already heard that local beaches are more suitable for surfing than for a calm one. beach holiday on a sun lounger. The location of the island is such that almost always it is exposed to the "invasion" of waves. The Bali shores are high cliffs, like walls protecting from the wildness of the sea. Therefore, before the trip, it is important to decide in which part of the island to spend your vacation. Only in some parts of the island are there calm beaches Bathing Bali, perfect for a quiet vacation getaway and tranquil family vacation with splashing kids. And in this article I will share a personal selection of such beaches.

Most of the beaches without waves are located on the southernmost tip of Bali - on the Bukit Peninsula. As a rule, this is where package tours are sold in Russian travel agencies. Sometimes cheaper options offer a trip to Kuta, but this is clearly not the beach where you can calmly swim in the sea. Therefore, first we will consider in detail the most the best beaches Bali for swimming in the Bukit area, and then in other parts of the island.

Nusa Dua beach in Bali

If you are thinking about a trip to Bali, then definitely choose Nusa Dua. This is one of the most popular beaches with the best hotels on the island. The water here is turquoise, there are practically no waves, a wonderful entrance to the sea, and the sand is the softest. Holidays in Nusa Dua will be truly relaxing.

If you are driving on your own, then it is not necessary to choose hotels on the first line. The beach is absolutely free and is not fenced in by anything, therefore, it is possible to enter it not only for guests of nearby hotels, but also for those who settled further away. But, of course, living by the sea itself is a great pleasure, although not cheap.

I recommend always looking for discounts and comparing prices through HotelLook, a hotel search engine from the famous brand AviaSales, before booking a hotel. Sometimes you can find Bali hotels on it with a discount of up to 50%!

Perhaps the only drawback of this beach is that during the vacation you can get pretty tired of "doing nothing". Many tourists do not go further than Nusa Dua and the surrounding area, so their impressions of Bali remain rather blurry.

In order not to become a victim of boredom, I advise you to pay attention to one day excursions around the island with a Russian-speaking guide - and. Or, you can independently plan your stay in different parts of Bali in order to see it from all angles and soak up its magical atmosphere. Make sure to stop for 2-3 days in Ubud and reach the volcanoes near Kintamani.

Geger beach Bali

Locals distinguish the southernmost part of Nusa Dua as a separate beach called Geger, although in fact both beaches stretch as a single whole along the coastline. Accordingly, the beaches are very similar in appearance. At least the type of sand, water color and lack of big waves they are clearly united, and the general atmosphere on the beaches is identical.

But there are fewer people on Geger and only a few hotels, and therefore the rest here will be quieter and not crowded. If you are tired of the hustle and bustle of the crowd, Geger is the perfect vacation spot.

Pandawa Beach in Bali

One of the most unusual beaches in Bali. Its distinctive feature is the expressive rock formations separating the Pandava from the road and the entire island by a wall. Locals call this beach Kutuh Beach. It is especially suitable for those who are looking for the beaches of Bali for swimming with children. a calm sea without waves, a convenient entrance into the water and snow-white sand, from which different castles are so coolly molded, will delight both the child and his parents.

If you settle a little inland from the Pandava beach, then you can find excellent inexpensive accommodation options in the price range from 1000 rubles. per day, you can see them on Booking.com. But if you want to live in this area with a sea view, then this option is offered at the luxury villas Pandawa Cliff Estate and Villa Karang Putih, which are located on the cliff. Accommodation in them is especially suitable for honeymooners and couples.

White Sand Beach

If you are looking for white sand bathing beaches in Bali, then this beach fully reflects its name. The sand on it is really whiteness and soft, like flour. In general, for the east coast, this is quite rare, because on the beaches nearby, on the contrary, underfoot crunches black as soot sand - the result of the proximity to the Agung volcano.

For most tourists, this beach is secret, because it is not crowded here. White Sand Beach is beautiful, calm and free from big waves. There are cafes with fresh juices and cocktails, sun loungers for relaxation, and in the sea you can swim with a mask, looking at tropical marine life. Hotels near White Beach Sand beach no, you will have to get here by your own transport.

Jimbaran beach Bali

One of the few beaches on the west coast of Bali where the sea is relatively calm. Of course, waves are present here, but they are much smaller than on the neighboring Kuta, Seminyak or Legian, and the bottom is good and the depth near the coast is shallow. Accordingly, you can safely swim without fear of feeling the bottom with your foot, and swimming on Jimbaran will be affordable for children. Although I advise you to go here with older children, and not quite babies.

Jimbaran has a fairly developed infrastructure with an abundance of restaurants and hotels for every taste. Again, Jimbaran is located relatively close to all significant places and getting from here to various attractions of the island is clearly easier than from the very south of Bali.

In addition, the plus is that rest in Jimbaran is often cheaper than in Nusa Dua and other Bukin beaches. Thanks to the long coastline, there are many hotels for every budget. But at the same time, the crowds of tourists on the beach are not particularly felt due to the fact that everything is somehow absorbed along the coast. You can always find a secluded corner to relax.

As a conclusion, I note that whatever one may say, the most beautiful beaches of Bali for swimming and relaxing rest are located in the south of the island. Of course, there is White Sand Bech in the east and Jimbaran in the west, but these are the exceptions rather than general rule since western beaches more suitable for surfing, and the eastern ones for snorkeling. Accordingly, when planning a trip, I recommend looking for hotels in the south of the Bukit Peninsula.

I collected my family, suitcases and flew to Bali. It was this island that gave her a new home, where children do not get sick, but grow like beautiful exotic flowers, saturated with the sun, vitamins and sea air. Now, after spending almost a year in Bali, the mother of two boys shares her discoveries that will help make life on the island interesting not only for adults, but also for children. And this is not only about the beach.

Two children (3 years and 6 months), 17 hours of travel. It's worth it? Think for yourself: the air temperature is + 28C, in 10 minutes - the ocean, fresh seasonal fruits, the absence of flowering plants, harmful for allergy sufferers. The eldest son was 2 years old when we learned what polinoz is. From that moment on, the native birch turned into a forbidden tree, and walks in the fields remained only in books about nature. Endless analyzes, tests, medications gave way to bouts of apathy in the baby himself. And we decided to change the place of deployment, at least temporarily, in order to recuperate. At that moment, we did not know much about the island and, moreover, whether it is suitable for living with children. Now I can say for sure, it is suitable!

What? Where? How many?

The accumulated travel experience suggested that for a start it is better to rent a villa for 2 weeks (on booking.com, for example) and at this time find your home.

Housing rental depends on several factors:

  • district;
  • hotel, guesthouse, separate house (as in our case);
  • term (from a year - much cheaper, but you also need to pay the entire amount at once);
  • the presence of a pool;
  • distance from the ocean.

Generally speaking, the cheapest option (guesthouse) starts from $ 15-20 / day. Improved version - about $ 60 / day. A good villa with a couple of bedrooms and a pool is already $ 100-150 / day. There are also good offers for renting a house with a communal pool. Well, there is no price limit.

Most tourist area- Nusa Dua - beaches with white sand and emerald water without waves. Hotels, motels and hostels line the waterfront. We go there, sometimes, for a change of scenery.

We live in Canggu / Umalas area. On the this moment, it has the most convenient location. The number of cozy, cute cafes and restaurants is equal to decent quality, and ten minutes of ocean accessibility gives this place extra points. There are waves here, and for some it may be a minus, we are used to playing calmly on the shore, and children enter the water only under the supervision of their parents.

According to reviews of friends, the most a budget option, Kuta. Here beginner surfers pass their way "on the foam". A place of endless parties, cheap guesthouses and popular nightclubs.

I advise you to contact an agent who has made more than one deal on the island. But still, this applies to long-term leases from a year. There is a very complicated relationship between foreigners and land, it is impossible to buy it by law. Having studied all kinds of publics, I stopped at the forums on facebook. In these groups, you can find answers to popular questions, from renting a house / bike to finding a piano teacher. Search for groups with the query "together in Bali" "life in Bali".

"What to do with the children?"

I will probably divide into two groups: "where to send the children?" and "where to go with children?"

Group number 1: kindergarten, circus, football, boxing, karate, gymnastics, trampolines, tennis, swimming - this is the part we tested for boys, I think it is quite suitable for girls.

Kindergarten

Our area is Umalas / Canggu. We chose from two options:

  • Skoebi-do Child Care Center (from 600 rubles / day).
  • Alam Atelier (payment immediately for 3 months, 25 thousand rubles / month), and, having visited the second, we have been walking for 7 months already. Indescribable atmosphere of the ideal kindergarten... Training in English. The youngest son was sent there, in the group "from 8 months to 1.5 years."

Circus

A real circus as a sports section! We got there by accident and walked regularly for a month while our kindergarten was on vacation. Throughout the week, children learn various tricks, tricks, techniques and games, and every Friday they show a reporting concert for parents and everyone. Amazing energy and relaxation for little fidgets. (8 thousand rubles / week, payment for 2 weeks comes with a discount).

Group No. 2:

  • Zoo, bird and monkey parks, rope park, horse stable, elephant farm, swimming with dolphins, run bikes / skaters, rafting (from 6 years old). #Balischildren tag on Instagram as a reminder.
  • Ocean. A chaise longue with an umbrella (200 rubles / day), a couple of shoulder blades, a bucket, a machine - and your children cannot be taken away from the sand. Still, it doesn't hurt to cool down periodically. The ocean may seem cool, but even small children quickly get used to it.
  • Children's cafes, however, are few: "Chinta" and "Joglo" are personally tested for 5+. There are also interesting places on the # balikafeschildren tag.

About eating at home

There are not many large ones in Bali shopping centers... And grocery hypermarkets - you can count on one hand. One of them is Carfur. It is easy to find diapers, diapers, formula, vegetable purees and hygiene items for children. But with ordinary cereals and meat in jars, everything is more complicated. We buy Heinz oat and rice porridge in the Pepito chain of stores. Vegetables and fruits are much cheaper in local markets and are 100% tastier.

About budget

The budget always depends on your needs and what you choose. A small or large house, a bike for rent (from 2.8 thousand rubles a month) or a car (from 8 thousand rubles a month), groceries in a store or on the market. We have a large family, 3 adults and 2 children, respectively, and the costs are higher.

Returning to whether it is worth going to Bali with children and whether it will not be boring there, you decide. But our experience shows that Bali is a great place for both wintering and long-term living.

Despite the fact that the island of Bali has been in the top of the most popular destinations rest among Russians, it is worth thinking several times when deciding whether to go here with children. The fact is that traditionally this tropical island near the equator is chosen by surfers who are attracted by the waves that are observed all year round almost on the entire coast. So is it possible to go to Bali with a child?

Traditionally, Bali has two seasons: dry and wet. The best for families with children is precisely the dry season, which lasts from May to October, and the most favorable months are July and August. At this time of the year, the temperature is kept at +24 degrees during the day, extreme heat does not happen, and it rains only short-term, and even those at night. The water temperature at this time is as comfortable as possible, and the waves are not as strong as during the rainy season, which lasts from November to April.

Features of traveling to Bali with children

Despite the fact that the island is located in South-East Asia, he has not yet earned such popularity as, for example, Thailand. That is why the number of flights is significantly inferior in number and variety. A flight, even a direct one, is about 10 hours, and on flights with transfers on the way, you can spend more than a day, which may not please every kid.

Another issue is acclimatization. Babies often take longer to get used to changing weather and time zone. That is why the tour should be taken for at least two weeks, and even better - for three weeks or a month. The first 3-5 days after arrival, children can be lethargic and moody, many even develop colds. Therefore, it is worth taking cold medications and immunostimulants with you.

The best resorts and beaches for families with children

Even in the dry season, waves are almost everywhere in Bali. Also, one of the features of the beaches of the island is the strong ebb and flow, which make holidays with children unsuitable. And a meeting with surfers on the high seas can be an unpleasant surprise for a child, even if the parents allow the child to swim.

In addition, for families with children, it is not recommended to choose noisy resorts, for example, Kuta, even though the city is closest to the airport. It is always dirty on the beaches of Kuta, there are strong ebbs and flows. This city is more suitable for youth parties that take place day and night. Even if the beach is not your priority, the noise nightlife can be placed when relaxing with a child. However, there are also several resorts that are suitable for families with children, as they have nice beaches without waves and comfortable family hotels. The best of these are found on the southern Bukit Peninsula.

Nusa Dua

The Nusa Dua resort is significantly different from the typical Balinese coastline. Firstly, coastline here it is long and wide, covered with golden fine sand. Waves are extremely rare here, as there is a large coral reef not far from the coast, which prevents strong waves from reaching the coast.

The second feature of this resort is a touch of elitism, which is not characteristic of other parts of the island. Everything here is decorated in a European style: smoothly trimmed lawns, golf and tennis courses, goldfish in artificial ponds. Hotel complexes are lined up along the coast, most of which have a category of 4 and 5 stars and their own territory. By the way, for families with children this is a huge plus, since such hotels necessarily have a children's pool, and some even have water slides. In addition, hotels in Nusa Dua most often have a kids club and also provide babysitting services.

Jimbaran

Jimbaran resort is also located in the south of the island, it is small town, whose inhabitants are mainly engaged in fishing. Everything is more authentic here, however, high-end family hotels are also present. Waves are already there, however, still lower than in other resorts in Bali, except for Nusa Dua. Basically, surfing lovers come here, and they take children with them, because there is a children's surf school here, so you can join this sport with the whole family. In addition, leaving the child for the evening with a nanny, parents can go to the party Kuta, which is located not far from Jimbaran.

Uluwatu and Dreamland beaches

These beaches are even less suitable for families with children than the first two, however, in the period between high and low tides, swimming here is quite safe. On Uluwatu, at low tide, a very shallow pool with sea water is formed, in which children splash with pleasure. Well, Dreamland beach bears its name for a reason, as it is one of the most beautiful on the island. The sand here is snow-white, and the water has rich blue and blue colors.

Entertainment for kids in Bali

Traditionally in Bali they go to water parks with their children. In general, every resort has at least one place with water slides, most often they are on the territory of hotels, where the security allows not only guests with children, but also everyone. There are also two large water parks on the island - Woterbom in Kuta and New Kuta Dremark, which is located very close to beautiful beach Dreamland. These water parks largely determine the choice of Kuta as a resort for families with children, because on their territory you can spend the whole day, even for adults there are slides here, many times more extreme than for children.

If the child shows interest in animals, then you can visit several interesting places... The first is the monkey forest, where you can observe the life of these funny creatures in their natural environment. Well, adults will be interested to look at the stone Hindu mythological statues. There is a forest near Ubud, as well as a bird park, where birds are also in wildlife... In addition, exotic animals can be seen in the Safari Park, elephants in Taro Park, and a visit to the dolphinarium, where you can even swim with dolphins, will also be interesting.

Children's infrastructure of the island

As for goods for children, there is no shortage of them in Bali. In all pharmacies you can buy the most common baby medicines, as well as different brands of diapers and baby food. You can also buy baby food in supermarkets, although there will be less choice here. Both on the coast and in Kuta there are many shops where you can buy baby clothes, toys and beach accessories. However, there is nothing exclusive or branded here.

As for food, Bali is full of fruits and vegetables, and children are also happy to eat rice, chicken and vegetable dishes that are served in every restaurant and cafe, the main thing is to warn when ordering so that fewer spices are added. Distributed in Bali and european food, especially in Nusa Dua, they serve both porridge and traditional scrambled eggs or fries.

Still, to go or not to go?

You can go to Bali with a child only if you want to take him with you, but if we are talking about choosing a resort for a child, then it is better to look for some other options. If you do choose Bali as a vacation destination, then children will feel best here during the dry season and in a calm resort such as Nusa Dua.

WITH A CHILD IN BALI.
After many hours of surfing the Internet looking for useful information about traveling to Bali with a child, I promised myself that upon arrival I would definitely write a post about all sorts of nuances with useful notes. Maybe some more parents will come in handy. After all, there is more information on the net just for travelers, even if useful. But the eyes of parents are not very much.
*

*

From the very beginning, we were not completely sure whether it was worth going so far, and we had little idea what kind of island it was, despite the fact that many of our friends had been there more than once and some lived there.
Flight.
And so, the ticket was booked a month before departure, and discounts did not apply to children (I don’t know, maybe this is specific in our case, it’s better to specify) it seems that kids under two years old can travel for free on their knees ... In general, we paid for Nikita (2 years and 7 months at that time) as much as for oneself. 26 000 r round trip. The road from door to door itself took (please do not be scared) 28 hours, but everything is not so scary as it might seem. Nikita really liked it fly, of course, in the end everyone was tired, but not so as not to go there anymore)) The route was as follows: Moscow-Doha (5 hours on the way), night in Doha, Doha-Jakarta (9 hours of flight), night in Jakarta, and in the morning a flight from Jakarta to Bali (1.5 hours). The return was just one night.
We spent the night quite well, at the airport in Doha you can use the quiet room, the so-called lounges, and rent a cane wheel for free, it's very convenient. There are also similar rooms with showers, food, drinks, etc. per person, 6 hours). There is free wifi throughout the airport. In Jakarta there is a Jakarta Airport Hotel (http://www.jakartaairporthotel.com/), 6 hours seems to cost $ 70, but it's worth it if you are flying with a child. Unfortunately, we did not get any free seats, but Nikita fell asleep remarkably in the wheelchair without experiencing any inconvenience.
I almost forgot! For some reason, it was cool enough at the Doha airport and you can easily freeze in T-shirt shorts. carry-on luggage sweatshirts and a blanket for the child. It was very useful to us. Another blanket we took from the Qatar plane, which we did not regret in the future. The plane Jakarta-Bali was also very cold.
If such a long way to travel by three planes seems difficult, you can buy tickets for a direct flight at a much higher price.
Insurance.
Knowledgeable people advised us to choose an insurance company that would cooperate with International SOS. It is considered one of the best companies in the insurance industry and is located in Bali (http://www.internationalsos.ru/ru). In Russia, SK Soglasie (http://www.soglasie.ru/) cooperates with International SOS. Maybe someone else, Nov didn’t look. Insurance for a child under 3 years old costs 2 times more for them than for an adult. We insured for $ 30,000 and paid 4,000 rubles for three (for Nikita 2 tr)
Oklimatization.
The three of us simply didn't have it. Moreover, we continued to wake up and fall asleep at the same time as in Moscow, despite the fact that the time difference was 4 hours.
Residence.
We lived in Bali for almost three weeks, and we rented a villa from our friends (they are doing this at http://innabali.ru/). In Legian area. To the beach by taxi about 7 minutes. By motorbike it is even faster.

And the guys with whom we went on a trip booked a chip hotel in Kuta, across the road from the ocean (Anggrek hotel). Quite a normal meal if you are young, cheerful, while childless and go to surf and hang out))). A month of stay in this hotel is about 5 tr per person, if not less. Most of the neighbors are Russian youth, someone came on vacation, someone lives there permanently.
The day began like this: we woke up in our wonderful villa ... got on a scooter and went to Kuta to the guys) We had breakfast with the whole party in a cafe, surfed and sunbathed on the beach. Then we went to dinner and drove back to the villa to put Nikita to sleep. He woke up and we returned to Kuta. When Nikita did not want to sleep during the day, we stayed with the guys and at the same time washed him there after the beach. On the second day of arrival, we found out that eating in Kuta is twice cheaper than in Legian. Apparently from- for a lot of competition, or maybe because the place itself is nicer and simpler.

And one more thing: when choosing housing, check if there is a noisy road and construction sites nearby.
What worried us before the trip:
I thought that we wouldn't even go into Kuta. I read that there is a dirty, noisy and bad beach for swimming with a child. People are all different, of course, but we had fun and positive there. Kuta is like Kuta. The beach is quite good, clean (they say about three years ago it was dirtier). Nikita fiddled on the shore in wet sand, ran on the water and we dipped him a little deeper. But still Kuta Beach is a place for surfers and if you want a family beach, then it is probably better to live in another area, In Nusa Dua, he is more civilized. Although nothing broke us off at all)) I liked everything.

Nutrition.
All three weeks we invariably went to our favorite place - Totemo Varung on Benesari Street. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner. We liked that everything there is delicious, of high quality and good prices. The first two days we even tried to cook at home, but it turned out to be a success. It makes no sense. It turns out more expensive and not so varied, of course.
In Bali, our child ate rice, vegetable dishes. Chicken, meat, salads, soups, pancakes. Fruits (bananas, mangoes mostly), fresh juices. There were no problems with food. Although I was worried before leaving, what would he be there I shouldn't have worried, it's even funny to remember)) The main thing is to clarify to the waiter no spicy, so that the dish is not spicy. From the table we sometimes crawled out, leaving 90 thousand rupees for three (300 r) This is freshly squeezed juices twice and delicious local food and coffee and pancakes)))

For younger children, supermarkets have everything that is available in their homeland, including baby food and juices and diapers. Everything your heart desires.
I carried an antiseptic hand gel with me and, just in case, Enterosgel. We gave it a couple of times to Nikita for prophylaxis, when he drank water from the ocean and pool.
I advise you to take sunscreen and Panthenol spray from burns with you. It was useful to our whole company. In three weeks everyone managed to burn out, despite the fact that they rented an umbrella and protected themselves from the sun. Panthenol works magically.
Since we are talking about drugs, I will write what came in handy for us. Hydrogen peroxide + brilliant green. For boys, broken knees are inevitable)) Although for girls, too, of course))
Drops of protargol. Nikita poured for three days at the beginning, then adapted. They also gave him aflubin when he snotted, but maybe it was too much, we just really wanted our rest to go without problems)) Practically nothing from the medicines was useful to us, thank God But the first-aid kit must be taken. I carried the most necessary things in my carry-on luggage (thermometer, bandage, brilliant green, peroxide, panadol antipyretic agent, plaster), the rest I put in my luggage.
Climate.
We rested in October and caught the rain only a couple of times it seems. Basically it was always the sun and sometimes clouds. It was very warm and good)) From our clothes T-shirts, shorts and slippers came in handy. All other things (Nikitin's tights, sweatshirts, longsleeves, jeans ) and lay at the bottom of the suitcase.

And I'll write more about one nuance. It seems to me that if you are not going to rest at the resorts Krasnodar Territory)) and not to Europe, but choose islands in the open ocean, you are exposed to some kind of risk. During our trip to Bali there was an earthquake. 100 km from an island in the ocean. Our media managed to inflate it to incredible sizes, up to the fact that everything is destroyed, tourists leave the island. In fact, it just shook the earth a little for about 5 seconds, maybe that's all. We sat in a cafe, even the cups did not fall. Although, I must admit, everyone was scared. Local residents say that this is normal and sometimes, not We were even asked: What, in Moscow, doesn't this happen?))
Washing.
Several times we handed over the laundry to the laundry, mostly things that are not very good for washing by hand. Besides, it is very humid in Bali and things take a long time to dry.
A package of things cost us 20 thousand rupees, which is about 70 rubles. In the morning they handed in, in the evening they took them away.
I finished it like a post, my husband advised me to tell you about the place where it is better to buy souvenirs and get them adjusted at prices))
In general, for three people in 20 days we spent about 60 thousand rubles, did not deny ourselves anything, went three times on excursions for the whole day, only we decided not to go to Gili just after the earthquake, left until the next time.
Souvenirs were bought in the Geneva store. If you tell the taxi driver Geneva shop Kerobokan Street, he will understand you)) Souvenirs there are three times cheaper than in souvenir shops on the street and in supermarkets.
What touched us:
Balinese are very nice, friendly and kind people. And they have reverent feelings for young children)) Nikita was always in the spotlight, everyone knew him shouting Hello, Nikitaaa)) They sent air kisses and constantly, constantly took pictures with him)) The child became even more chatty, sociable and open to the world))
