The village is salty psebay. Attractions of Psebay

A safe haven for the spoiled tourist

Highly unusual place for rest we have chosen on the May holidays- Psebay village. I wanted to have a budget vacation in the Krasnodar Territory ... From friends and relatives we heard that there are hot springs in the Krasnodar Territory in the Mostovsky District, we looked at the location on the map. It turned out that there is a village Psebay nearby in the Mostovsky district, where it is located. Unfortunately, we could not find sites of other places on the Internet where it was possible to stay.

Psebay is an urban-type settlement in the Mostovsky district Krasnodar Territory Russia.

How to get to Psebay

We drove by car from Rostov-on-Don along the M4 Don highway, then along the P-217 Tikhoretsk - Kropotkin - Armavir - Labinsk - Mostovskoy - Psebay road. The whole trip took about 5.5 hours.

The village of Psebay is very small in size and population (about 10 thousand people in 2010). Psebay is located in a valley in the foothills of the Caucasus, between mountain peaks along the Malaya Laba River. The road from Psebay to south side abuts against the mountains of the Caucasian Natural Biosphere Reserve.

Caucasian nature reserve included in the list World heritage UNESCO.

In the village of Psebay there is a gypsum production plant - "Kuban gypsum - KNAUF". We ourselves have personally climbed the tops of the mountains and have seen how the technique works. This is probably the only place in the village that provides work local population... It is a pity that the Knauf brand is not Russian. As our guide in the USSR said, it was a completely Soviet plant, and after the collapse, the Germans came, bought it out, and took it into circulation. Well, what can you do.

Unusual geographic location makes this place amazing. A fast mountain river, gypsum rocks of slopes, caves and arches, waterfalls, springs with clean drinking water, golden sand of mica and shell rock, rich vegetation, unusual for colors - all this is surprisingly intertwined here, in one place. For those who like active rest, I certainly recommend to visit here, because there are a lot of places to go to.

The area of the Psebay village is very promising and diverse in terms of Russian tourism. I would even say unusual, with its amazing beauty, purity, simplicity. There are no equipped places for hiking, only slightly trampled paths that sometimes get lost in the grass, then reappear. Marks on the trees for hiking trails and nothing else ... wild nature, with its unpredictability and mystery.

In addition to the traditional for these places of hiking, cycling tourism is developed here. There are active cycling routes on the Gerpegem ridge, by the way, they also ride quads there. The fast mountain river is just made for. Some will definitely love the rocks and climbing caves.

Excursions, routes in Psebay, waterfalls

We rested in Psebay for 6 days. But since the weather was not always favorable, we visited only a small part of the protected nearby places. Damp weather, washed-out roads, slippery hiking trails, and, perhaps, our unpreparedness for extreme tourist hikes, did not allow us to descend into the Gun'ka caves, and the Dedova Yama cave, as well as see the Kyzylbek waterfalls and salty mineral springs in the village of Solenoe. But what a reason to come back here again.

  • Kapustinsky waterfall;
  • Nikiteno village and Nikitinsky waterfall;
  • Thermal springs of the Mostovsky district;
  • Suspension bridge;
  • Rock "White Widow";
  • Waterfall "Desires";
  • Gerpegem Ridge;
  • Silver Spring;
  • Bank of the Malaya Laba river.

Some of the routes were on foot. Together with a guide (a kind, glorious uncle), we walked around all the environs of the Beryozki sanatorium on foot. We were introduced to local landscapes and nature. We visited many places on our own, despite the fact that it was not so easy to find them.

Experienced tourists will be interested in 5-7 days hiking trip along the famous route "Psebay - Krasnaya Polyana". But this is a very serious journey and you will not be allowed to go there just like that. To obtain a permit and a pass for a hike, go to the office of the Northern Department of the Caucasian Nature Reserve in Psebay or to the frontier post. Documents will be drawn up here.

Flora Psebaia

Walking through the meadows and forests in the villages of Psebay and Nikitino, you can see many beautiful and unusual plants. And the time at which we came to rest in Psebay (early May) showed us the flowering of many plants. Small mountain iris, lilies of the valley, strawberries, sage, mint, wild garlic and many more incomprehensible, but beautiful plants that form a blooming and smelling carpet on the ground.

For the first time in my life, I saw a mountain iris blooming. Lily of the valley is listed in the Red Book of Russia, but lily of the valley is not uncommon in Psebay.

What to bring from Psebay as a keepsake

In addition to all sorts of standard souvenirs: magnets and pictures, in Psebay you can buy meadow honey, mountain tea, souvenirs and jewelry from rocks. We also brought water from the Silver Spring, a piece of plaster rock, fern bushes. As a souvenir, you can dry a herbarium of meadow grasses. I could not resist this irrepressible greenery of the Psebay forests, I wanted to remember with all my heart and preserve this beauty at home.

Psebay is an amazing place for a Russian tourist to rest. A quiet vacation with your family, away from civilization or a rest with a noisy company. Measured walks in the vicinity of the village or extreme mountain routes. And everyone here will find something of their own, dear to the heart.

All this is Psebay, all this is Russia!

How to get to Psebay

I described the route in sufficient detail in my previous article. I publish here map route from Armavir and to the end point.

Armavir-Psebay travel route map

It's better to get there, although there is bus routes from cities such as Rostov and Krasnodar. The nearest town with a railway connection is Armavir. Minibuses run from there and you can take a taxi if you arrived from afar and by train. (distance to Psebay -120 kilometers, - 1.40 - 1 hour 50 minutes) Price trips from Rostov in the region of 500-600 rubles.

What to do in Psebay

Psebay in Soviet times was positioned as one of the centers hiking in the North Caucasus. Here was the beginning of one of the popular transitions along the tourist route " Psebay - Krasnaya PolyanaΒ». Now mountain tourism becomes more and more popular every year. Also, the local landscape conditions and weather in Mostovsky and Psebay are conducive to practicing such types of recreation as rafting, jeeping and cycling.

Hotel in the form of an unapproachable medieval castle colorful and actually accessible

Some routes pass through the territory Caucasian Reserve... So that there are no problems with the rangers, it is better to arrange permission, the office of one of its departments is located in Psebay. 10 kilometers along the road to the south, beyond the village Transshipment there is frontier post, in which, if necessary, you can get documents for passage through the border zone, address st. Industrial, 226.

If you climb Mount Shapka, you will see a picturesque view with a deep background

For me, as a lover of hiking in the mountains, the Psebay mountain region has become an alternativeMountain Adygea with its famous plateauLago-Naki where it got too crowded, especially on weekends. For 15 years I went on vacation every year to those regions and followed the development of infrastructure. Places are not inferior in beauty to other regions of the Caucasus Mountains, but sometimes you want to be away from people and closer to nature.

Aircraft SP-30 of the Psebay Aviation Club

On the right bank of the Malaya Laba, opposite the village, there is a village Andryuki , there is a grassy airfield and air club, where the annual meeting of small aircraft fans from all over Russia takes place. When I came to Psebay for the first time and saw this airfield while going around the neighborhood, I immediately drove in and made an agreement with the local pilot deltalayer(not to be confused with a hang glider that has no motor). The next day, for a reasonable payment, we flew with him over the valley and the nearest mountain ranges.

The view from the glider is open to all sides

Both the village and the mountains around it look mesmerizing, stunning views and a whole range of thrills are guaranteed to you. I recommend everyone to try a bird's-eye view, especially since, unlike an airplane, the view is circular, free, and not from the cockpit through the glass. The entire Caucasian ridge and nearby mountains, such asBig Thach and famousDevil's Gate ... If anyone still decides to fly, then dress warmly, at an altitude it is much cooler than on the ground, even in the heat.

You can climb one of the mountains of the Gerpegem ridge, since the climb can be started immediately from Psebay. Stunning views, at any time of the year, and in the summer also the aromas of mountain herbs and flowers. The hike is not difficult, available for all ages and backgrounds.

View from Mount Shapka to the Skirda plateau

In the already mentioned village of Perevalka, which belongs to the Psebay rural settlement, there is one of the nearby attractions of the mountainA cap, it is imperative to climb it. The ascent is short and not difficult, the path to the top goes through a shady forest with giant trees and giant boulders.

Petrovich on the top of Mount Shapka

The mountain offers a picturesque panorama of the Malaya Laba River and a view of the plateauSkirda. If after that you are not overwhelmed by delight, and you do not mentally thank God for the opportunity to see this beauty, then it is better to sit at home and watch TV!

Petrovich on the suspension bridge in Perevalka

There is suspension bridge across the river, you can cross it up the forest road along the river Hungarian, in the upper reaches of which there is waterfall in several stages. The places are completely wild, the passage to the waterfall through the thicket is not immediately possible to find.

The waterfall on the Vengerka river

But I made my way to the sound of the water and found it all by the half-overgrown marks on the trees, made many years ago. Judging by the absence of a trail, this waterfall has not been visited for a long time. You feel after such an almost discoverer of M.

In fact, the water in the river is not that cold.

There are many mushrooms, can be found bison, according to the stories of local old-timers. The river is found trout, and lovers of fishing in mountain rivers are very fond of coming to these places.

The village is also interesting because it is after it that the high mountains, a mountain road passes through it along the gorge along the Malaya Laba River. The only path that leads to places such as villagesStormy , Nikitino andCordon Chernorechye .

Petrovich in the waters of a thermal spring in Mostovsky

Mostovskoy - thermal springs

The administrative center of the district, the settlement of Mostovskaya, is located 40 kilometers from Psebay to the north. Famous throughout the country for its thermal springs, the infrastructure of which has developed rapidly in recent years, with hotels, recreation centers for every taste. The water temperature at the exit is +85 +90 degrees, but it is supplied to the pools in the parameters from +37 to +44. The water of the water is saturated with many trace elements and mineral salts, which is extremely beneficial for the body. Helps with problems with the musculoskeletal system, nervous exhaustion and stress. The springs are especially popular in the cold season; in winter there is a full house, despite the rather high prices for the area. To have to to book places at the bases at the sources in advance, especially on weekends.

The place of attachment of the beams of the ancient dwelling on Mount Shapka

But for his readers, Petrovich gives hint how to get around this problem and not spend extra money. This recommendation is only suitable for those who travel by their own transport. You can settle at the bases somewhere in Psebay or the surrounding area, since there are enough of them there, and the prices are an order of magnitude lower than in Mostovsky and go to the thermal springs buying a one-time visit to the baths. I assure you that even with gasoline consumption it will be cheaper, checked personally, tried both options.

Meadow flowers of Gerpegem will go to hikers

Mount Kizinchi Located 66 kilometers from Psebay on the left bank of the river Hodz, just before reaching the village Bagovskaya, north of the hamlet Kizinka... You will have to go through Mostovskaya, there is no shorter road. You can get to the left bank by an iron bridge, not very presentable in appearance, but strong enough for any type of transport.

An incomprehensible natural phenomenon in the Psebai Mountains awaits its researchers

The mountain stands alone and is very majestic, with an abundance of grottoes and niches that have arisen naturally as a result of natural influences. Consists of two tiers of rocks - the uppermost and the second just below, consisting of separate pillars resembling fingers. A trail runs between the tiers along the entire southern slope. From this trail and from the very top of the cliff, a picturesque view of the Main Caucasian ridge and ridge opens. Small Bambaki as well as towards Mountainous Adygea.

On the road from Mostovskiy to Psebay, in front of the village Shedok there is a turn to the left with a pointer
"White Rocks", once there was a sanatorium on the banks of the Laba River, now it is either a recreation center, or a summer cottage, it's not about her. Nearby there is a children's sports camp, there is a suspension bridge to the other side. The place itself is interesting, the outcropping of white limestone rocks on the right bank and along the bottom of the river makes this place especially picturesque.

Petrovich floats on "White stones"

It is also a favorite bathing place for the surrounding population; in the summer months, the water escaping from the mountains manages to warm up to a comfortable temperature while remaining crystal clear. The depth is quite shallow, which is very popular with children, who love to splash around and frighten the little fish scurrying along the bottom. Smooth limestone blocks of bizarre shapes create natural hot tubs in which you can relax under a natural massage with fast jets of mountain water. At other times of the year, you can just relax in good location admiring the views.

The village of Psebay is becoming more and more popular every year, among tourists who prefer the so-called " Wild rest". Basically, people strive to get to these lands in order to fully enjoy the beauty of the surrounding nature. Moreover, there are quite enough places here that deserve attention.

A bit of history

The village was created back in 1857, but it has truly become habitable since 1862. During these years, families of Cossacks and soldiers began to come here. Psebay developed rather slowly. The rapid development began in 1888, when the cousin of Nicholas II, Sergei Romanov, moved here. He rented a huge amount of land. Punished to build a church, a hunting lodge. They have survived to this day, are considered historical monuments and belong to the sights of the village.

In Soviet times, the route (on foot) to Krasnaya Polyana, through the Caucasian Reserve, began here. Over time, it was abandoned and only in the two thousandth year it was not only resumed, but also planned new routes. These places are especially popular with tourists who are fond of hang gliding, rafting, jeeping and so on.

Caves around Psebay

In the vicinity of the village of Psebay, there are a lot of mountains, respectively, and caves. Many of them are included in tourist routes. Gunka caves are the most impressive in this area. They are located in the gully with the same name, there are four of them. A river flows out of the largest and most popular. There are three halls in it, united by a narrow and low peculiar corridor. The first hall is the smallest, the second is slightly larger and the third is the largest. Its height is about 10 meters, and its width is from 12 to 25, with a length of 80 meters. While the first hall is only forty-five meters long, 20 wide and three high. The total duration of the Gunka Caves is about one kilometer, but during the flood period, most of them simply cannot be reached.

Malaya Laba - river

The peculiarity of this river is always clean and cold water. The river bed is fed by glaciers, so the water is always perfect here. Along the way, the Laba is "skittish", right up to the place where it flows into the Bolshaya Laba. The river is rough and very popular among fans of rafting. Almost throughout the entire territory of the village, the banks are steep and steep. And only outside of it they become even. In floods, the river becomes dangerous. Spills begin, a very strong current. The river is very popular among fishing tourists. At the same time, fishing here cannot be called calm. You have to be a real professional to catch trout, which is available here in abundance, or chub.

These places are very popular at all seasons. The water temperature in them reaches 80 - 90 degrees. While in the baths it is 37 - 42. The water here is rich in minerals, for example: potassium, fluorine, calcium and others. What has the most positive effect on the problems of the musculoskeletal system, respiratory tract. Useful water sources and for people who succumb to severe stress, experiencing nervous exhaustion. At the same time, the healing effect remains for a sufficiently long period of time. People come here in any weather.

The mountain is strewn with giant trees, boulders. Incredibly a nice place, from the top of which there is a stunning view of the village of Psebay, the Caucasian ridge and the Laba River. A visit to the Shapka Mountain is included in most tourist routes and is the most popular place.

They are located not in Psebay itself, but in the mountains near the village of Nikitino, which is why they are called that. On the way to them, tourists enjoy the view of the cascades. The places here are very beautiful, the route to the Nikitinsky waterfalls themselves is without steep climbs.

Another natural attraction of these places. The road to them is much more difficult than to Nikitinsky, but the view is more breathtaking. The approximate height is about 40 meters. The last few tens of meters in front of the waterfall are the most difficult. With steep climbs.

The route is quite difficult. First, by car, you need to drive to the village of Solenoe. Then walk a few kilometers. The path goes along the Kyzyl-bek river, through the mountains. But by car you can get to the largest of these waterfalls, almost right back. A huge number of tourists cannot resist the temptation to plunge into the bowls of the lakes at the foot of these waterfalls.

The easiest way to get to the village of Psebay is by car. Public transport rarely comes here. Several transfers are required. Reviews of people who have already been here more than once will help to decide what to get to Psebay.

We discovered new corners of the Krasnodar Territory - Psebay and Nikitino. Mountain air, waterfalls, rivers, observation decks, alpine meadows - just beauty!

Knowing our love for Adygea, friends have long invited us to their dacha in Psebay. "Our nature is not worse than in Adygea," they assured, "and there are many times less tourists." So we went to see if it was really so beautiful there. πŸ™‚

Such mountains in Psebay

We've heard about Psebay before. A few years ago, my husband's brother Sergei (known by the nickname izvozshik) was vacationing in Nikitino, went to.

From our house to Psebay exactly 420 kilometers. Drive about 5 hours.

We left on Friday evening. Once again, we marveled at how inconvenient the Russian toll roads are. Everything is done in order to rip off money from people, and nothing - for the convenience of those who fork out. Even with a transponder, you have to queue on the green line. Why do we need such toll roads if we drove fine without them?

Payment point on the M4-Don highway near Samara

It may be more profitable, but still inconvenient

And then, in front of the Merry Life, they are building another toll road checkpoint. The fun life has already begun here - a four-kilometer traffic jam lined up here on Sunday evening. I had to go around it in roundabout ways ...

Soon a fun life in traffic jams will begin in the Merry Life

On the way to Psebay, they were twice caught in the rain.

The road to Psebay. The rain is over

The second time was not just rain, but a thunderstorm. The sky was overcast. We have already begun to doubt that good weather awaits us in Psebay ...

Before the storm

The most interesting road overlooking the mountainous area begins in Mostovskiy. We entered the mountains at night, so there are no photographs of this part of the path. And in general there will be no familiar story about the road from this trip. This is another reason I hate driving at night.

Bridges & waterfalls in Nikitino

The next morning we went to Nikitino.

On the way, we stopped at Burny for a walk along the suspension bridge.

Then we went to.

Of course, we did not reach the very Nikitinsky waterfalls. We walked part of the road, admiring the surroundings.

Then we went to see the Turkish Bridge, built in the 18th century near Nikitino. Although the Turks committed a lot of atrocities in the Caucasus, killed the local population, sold prisoners into slavery, but there was some benefit from them - they built such a solid bridge, it still stands!

The road back was easy. But again we got stuck in a traffic jam at the checkpoint, despite the transponder ... Does anyone believe that toll roads are created for the convenience of people?

Psebay, discovered by us quite by accident in the mid-2000s, turned out to be an amazing reserve of almost untouched nature and a place where residents of large cities can join it.

This is a village in the Krasnodar Territory, located at the foot of the slopes of the Western Caucasus Mountains (part of the Greater Caucasus Range). To put it figuratively, this is the "bear's corner" of the Krasnodar Territory: the road from Psebay rests on the mountains of the Caucasian Natural Biosphere Reserve, where the border of Krasnodar Territory, Karachay-Cherkessia and Abkhazia passes through remote protected areas. The Caucasian nature reserve is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, and this fact already interested us and made us "dig" information about Psebay.

The village was quite famous in Soviet times, it was here that the popular multi-day hiking began. a tourist route"Psebay - Krasnaya Polyana", passing through the territory of the Caucasian reserve. On it, with some physical effort, one could see all the beauties of the mountains of his native country: gorges, alpine plateaus, transparent blue Lakes, glaciers, waterfalls and impenetrable thickets of the Caucasian forests (which, however, with the help of experienced guides, turned out to be quite passable).

In the 1990s, with the collapse of the Soviet Union, the infrastructure of Psebay, "sharpened" for the reception of large groups of unpretentious tourists who love nature and hiking, fell into disrepair, and at times a real war was waged around accommodation facilities in the style of that time. So, one of the most famous Psebay tourist centers under the name "Voskhod" changed owners many times, and the change of management was not always good for it. Nevertheless, Psebay himself, and the camp sites, and the inhabitants of the village survived the difficult 90s, and in the early 2000s, people's interest in active rest in nature, and also there was at least some desire of the authorities to restore the lost popularity of the routes.

Actually, we learned about Psebay from the new ones, printed in the framework of promoting the Krasnodar Territory and its resorts, booklets. It became clear that there was where to stay - at the already mentioned tourist center "Voskhod", which even had its own website. So we packed up and went there - almost at random. Fortunately, at this time we were vacationing with relatives in the Krasnodar Territory itself, and buying a ticket for a regular bus to Mostovsky turned out to be easier than ever.

Arriving at the camp site, we quickly settled down and, having got used to the Spartan situation, went on exploration into the forest located right outside the gate, for spring water. To say that we liked it there is to say nothing. Perhaps it was just a delight from the first meeting with the mountains and wildlife (although truly wild nature did not begin at all in the village, but a few kilometers from it, at the foot of the mountains of the reserve).

The tourist base turned out to be good in that it provided the services of experienced guides who showed tourists the mountains and took them to the most beautiful places, of which there were many within a radius of several tens of kilometers from Psebay. The guests of the camp site were first brought to many of them by transport - army "goats" or all-terrain vans, because it was impossible to get there by an ordinary car, and then it was necessary to get out and overcome the path on foot. In the summer of several days in Psebay, it seemed to us so few that after a few months we decided to return there - to meet New Year and spend a whole week of vacation there. This concludes the backstory and lyrical digression about Psebay and focus on what to do there and what to see. And there really is something to see.

If you experienced tourist, then, most likely, you should not waste time on trifles, prepare and go through the mountains with guides directly along the famous route "Psebay - Krasnaya Polyana" (5-7 days). It requires a lot of physical preparation and attitude, but they are waiting for you. unforgettable experience a series " better than mountains there can only be mountains. " As the guides told us (rather harsh at first sight, but in their hearts they are real enthusiasts of their craft and fans of the mountains), there are places along the route that even they, already accustomed to beauty, often dream at night. In the mountains, most likely, you will be able to see many animals, easily - even bears and bison, not to mention smaller ones. the inhabitants of the reserve.

If you come to Psebay just to breathe the mountain air and take a break from the city, and are not in the mood to walk through the mountains with a heavy backpack for several days, then do not despair - in any case, you will be able to see a lot. Ready routes do not have a category of difficulty and are available to everyone, even the elderly.

Where to stay in Psebay

Attractions of Psebay

Mount Hat- one of the nearby attractions where tourists are taken. From the foot to the top, the path runs through a gloomy forest with giant trees and the same giant boulders. A breathtaking panorama opens from the Hat mountain range Caucasian ridge, Psebay and the Malaya Laba river, along which the village is located. A real delight!

Nikitinsky waterfalls- are located in the mountains near the village of Nikitino, after which they got their name. Tourists are taken by transport to the village, from where the hiking route to the waterfalls starts. The road, however, is without climbs.

This is not Nikitinsky waterfalls yet, this is one of the cascades on the way to them

Kapustinsky waterfall more than 40 meters high, falling from a sheer cliff. The nearest village is Nikitino, which can be reached by car, from where it is a few kilometers uphill on foot. This is a more tiring route, especially the last few steep tens of meters to the waterfall.

Gunka caves. Walking route from the Voskhod camp site, not very far and not very tiring.

Mostovskaya - thermal springs. In the village of Mostovsky, located 40 kilometers from Psebay (towards Labinsk), recreation centers with thermal springs are very popular. They say that since we were there in the mid-2000s, the infrastructure for those wishing to culturally rest has significantly improved.

Kyzyl-Bek waterfalls. This is, as the name implies, several waterfalls. You can go to them along a long route through the mountains (by car to the village of Solenoe, then walk a few kilometers through the mountains along the river Kyzyl-Bek), or you can almost drive up to the largest of them (walk several hundred meters through the forest). In the warm season, many tourists, having reached this waterfall, often cannot resist the temptation to swim in small lakes-bowls at its foot.

These, of course, are not all routes and interesting natural places, but only the most popular ones, so to speak, "rolled".

What else can you do in Psebay?

The valley in which Psebay lies is a rather well-known hang-gliding place in the south of Russia. The same village and the mountainous areas around it look mesmerizing when you hover over them on a hang glider. I myself did not fly, but I was shown videos of flights: unrealistic views and, of course, thrills. Try it if you are not afraid of heights (without the usual aircraft glass) and the deafening noise of engines.
